Excellent food and extremely friendly and attentive staff. We loved that the chef, Paul, came out to speak with us.

Paul and Nancy are awesome. I have been there a few times and they offered personalized service that was outstanding. The food was delicious, well presented and hot. I have taken a few business folks there and every time I have a visitor they ask “can we go to Nanchetta?” Thanks for staying consistent and open for all of us. Very appreciative to have a place to go for a great meal and forget about the insanity of the world!
Thank you Anonymous for your thoughtful review. We try to make everyone's visit special and enjoyable. Please let me know the next time you are in if there is anything we can do for you. Nancy/ Nancettas
I have been to many places and I have eaten at some of the finest restaurants. I will say the food here was even and surpassed many more expensive and exclusive restaurants. The food abs the service was outstanding in every way. I will entertain and host many people here. Thanks for a great experience!

Thank you for visiting Nancettas. We greatly appreciate your review and hope to see you soon. Please let us know what we can do better!! Nancettas .
The food and wine are great, and the owners are really nice and helpful, but it took 45 minutes to get our main course, and we were only one of two tables in the restaurant. The amount of time it took this time was a little better than the last. When it took an hour and 15 minutes to get our main course
Will never come back. They overbooked tables with 1 waitress for entire restaurant. 30 minutes to get drink or even make an order. And waitress had an attitude? That’s funny, waiting 30 minutes for a drink or to make an order? And after making order it was 60 minutes and no food. So we left and they could not care less. Nice.
My choice of veal picata with a side of pasta bolognese was wonderful. Homemade pasta! My wife and I also had very nice salads, and she enjoyed essentially 2 appetizers with gnocchi and pear ravioli. We selected a superb but affordable Italian Red that was a great compliment. Our waitress was very engaged and hospitable, and we will be going back soon with friends. A lovely dinner that was well paced and worthy of trying more menu items on our return.
Great food
Nice place. Delicious food. Outside dining is set up very well. Unfortunately, their was an odor about the place that was meandering from somewhere beyond the restaurant that created a less than enjoyable experience. Staff was nice and responsive. Try the beet salad. It was incredibly good.
Food was fabulous. Outdoor seating area was wonderful. Service was great. Can’t wait to go back.
Excellent food and accommodating hosts. Outside seating is nice, but the road can be loud.
My wife had a sole special that was small but very good- as were the two salads we had. The calamari while good- was the smallest portion we had ever seen as an appetizer. My veal parmigiana was almost absent of veal. It seemed to fall apart at the approach of my fork...not because it was tender but because there was no veal there! Even my Makers Mark Manhattan was below average.. The veal did not come with a pasta, so I ordered a side dish of pasta Bolognese which was an odd $12 adder I never want to experience again. Ads to that from the time we ordered until the time we received our main course was near 3 hours...we were in no rush but the wait was absurd. We had a similar experience there several years ago but decided, since they had outside dining, we would give them another shot. In this case, 2 strikes and they are out..we will not go back.
It was the best Italian restaurant we’ve been to. Authentic food and the best service ever!
What a gem! I'm so glad we found this restaurant! The food was freshly made and delicious... the gnocchi melts in your mouth! We had the duck with rizzuto, cherry sauce and asparagus as well as the lamb chops, beet salad, gnocchi and lava cake for dessert... it was outstanding! Our host and server was attentive and friendly. We sat on the patio, which was nice although a bit sunny until the sun went down. Overall a great and special evening to celebrate the opening of restaurants during the green phase!!
Great find. Thank you open table as got this location from a search for a business dinner.
This was a cute restaurant with good homemade Italian food. Portions were large and you got a good amount of food for the price. Wine list was good and had a nice range of both wines and price points. We would definitely go back.
We just discovered Nancetta's and plan to return again. The menu is very interesting and all the pasta's are made fresh with many to choose from. They have interesting appetizers and great salads. I loved the ambiance, twinkle lights outside, linen napkins, and small cozy rooms. The owner came to our table to welcome us and offer suggestions of house favorites. All the meals freshly made so be prepared to have a leisurely meal. Nancetta's is a dining experience that is elegant and simple at the same time.
Authentic Italian meal, thoughtfully prepared. Relaxed experience, if you want to truly savor your food and not be rushed, this is your spot. Fabulous food, fresh and artfully prepped ingredients. As close to being in Italy as we’ve found in Pgh. We will be back... with friends
!
Nancetta's has consistently great food. It's a gem.
I enjoy going to restaurants that prepare a meal for me!!! I am willing to wait for a fresh cooked meal; I don't go to chain restaurants!!!
Great service, terrific specials. Reasonable portions. They don't over do anything, but provide a " just right" portion. A great find on our part.
A neighborhood gem suitable for special occasions, business dinners or just a casual night out. The food is spectacular - all homemade with special touches. Highly recommend that you book it for a special occasion soon!
An early quiet dinner so we had the attention of our waiter and the owner.
First visit to Nancetta and will definitely come back. Food was excellent as was the presentation and the service.
Honestly the best Italian food in Pittsburgh. Cozy atmosphere for cold winter night dining. Definitely try the squash blossoms.
Hands down the best restaurant for food, service and enjoying discussions with the owners. Highly recommend Nancetta's.
Absolutely fabulous food and atmosphere. The gnocchi, ravioli and spaghetti Bolognese was some of the best we’ve ever had.
First time there. Great find. Great menus. We’ll be back.
The food was great! We had greens/beans, beet salad, eggplant Parmesan, and pork Milanese. The pork was better than my preparation! Only negative ( which I hope they correct) is we asked for our leftover greens/ beans and eggplant for doggie bag. Well you pick it up when you leave . And when we got home, it was not our dishes we had!! It was ravioli, and greens/beans. Hope they correct this because everything else was wonderful . Very personable owners came out a few times to ask us about our meal. Will go back!!
We made reservations to dine with our dear friends this evening. When we arrived, they were enjoying the delicious house Chardonnay. Fresh baked bread and olive oil dipping sauce started us off as we poured our own wine and placed our orders. We recommended the amazing gnocchi as an appetizer, one plate with marinara sauce and one with basil pesto. Superb!! Three of us ordered the chicken fruitto special and the beef eater of the group, Bill, raved about his prime ribeye steak. I watched as the knife cut through the steak like it was butter. I regret not tasting it myself. I had a side of house made pasta with Bolognese sauce which is hard to resist. I make sure I have Nancetta's pasta no matter what! Homemade desserts of Tiramisu and white chocolate lemon tart were shared at the table. Attentive service, perfectly timed courses and pleasant conversation with the owners, Paul and Nancy, enhanced a wonderful evening with our friends.
First time diners at Nancetta's...enjoyed our meal very much! The gnocchi was melt-in-your-mouth delicious and my husband's spaghetti bolognese was also very good. Some of the reviews complain about service/wait time but our meal courses were timed just right. We did not feel rushed or that we waited too long between courses. We ordered appetizers which were both wonderful, and the chocolate explosion for dessert - fantastic! Our only complaint is since the restaurant is small the tables are close, and the party next to us was less than gracious:( which spoiled the mood slightly. We will definitely return though!
Made reservations for dinner based on raving reviews. The service was extremely slow. When we were seated, there were only 2 other tables filled, yet we did not get our appetizers for almost an hour! Entire meal consumed 2.5 hours. We are not talking Michelin rated type of experience here to justify the time spent waiting for our food to arrive. My companion had homemade linguine with clams and rib eye steak, I had chicken dish with roasted grapes and peaches (it was the special), and my daughter ordered pesto gnocchi. Everything was fresh and delicious, but nothing extraordinary. They do have nice selection of Italian reds. All in all, we will probably not return (unless in the area). We did not feel the restaurant was worth traveling for from the city.
Response to BurghFoodie Order in 6:32 Check Signout 8:43 We appreciate your input. I personally spoke with you about the wine and recommended a specific bottle. After researching there was a disconnect in the kitchen, the Sous Chef made the full Artichoke instead of the Artichoke Parcels & corrected the problem. This is why it took so long for your appetizers. I apologize & understand your dismay. Please contact us to give you a reason to make the trip to dine sooner than later
Lovely Italian restaurant with homemade pastas and made to order courses. We’ll definitely be back!
Fantastic food and atmosphere! Homemade pasta to die for! One of our favorites!
First time visiting this restaurant. Had a lovely dinner that included Dates with prosciutto appetizer, greens and beans, and 2 pasta dishes ( spaghetti bolognese and spaghetti Alfredo with spinach along with 2 glasses of wine for a reasonable $90. Everything is made from scratch. Owners are lovely and attentive. Service was very prompt. Will definitely return.
We had the best time at Nancetta’s! One of us had the duck, another the Maryland crabs, another the chicken piccata and finally the veal piccata. The pieces of bread and sauce were delicious as we kept asking for more. All our meals were fantastic!!! Definitely going back. Both the owner and his wife came to our table to ask how everything was which was so classy.
It was a beautiful evening to dine on the patio. We sipped wine and sampled the house made bread with olive oil dipping sauce while deciding on an appetizer. We ordered the best gnocchi we've ever tasted as an appetizer. The pesto sauce is delicious on the tender gnocchi. The grilled Spanish octopus is also a favorite. One of the main dishes we ordered for the first time is the fennel and hot peppers with fresh house made pasta. The second dish is a new favorite called "chicken fruitti " made with tender chicken breast, fresh peaches, white grapes and toasted pistachios in Galliano cream sauce. We found ourselves nodding in approval and saying "Mmmm" as we tasted each other's food. We dine at Nancetta's often and love their food. The owners are passionate about creating authentic Italian food and it is evident when they greet each table. We enjoy the friendly interaction with Paul and Nancy as they describe what they want to accomplish with their Italian dishes. It is made to order and takes extra time to prepare, so we relax and make an evening out of the experience just like in Italy. The house made desserts are equally delicious and made with quality ingredients. Our favorite is the fresh berry custard tart. Can't wait go back!
Great food!
Great overall experience!!
Will be back!!
The food and service is always wonderful. Love the ambiance, as well!
It was a perfect evening to dine on the outdoor patio at Nancetta's. The giant umbrella shaded the table from the bright setting sun. After sundown, the pretty blue and green tree lights complemented the string lights around the patio.
Grilled octopus and Caesar salad for appetizers. The octopus was tender with a smoky flavor from the grill. Beautiful white anchovies accompanied the salad of crisp lettuce with a light lemony Parmesan dressing. We both ordered the must-have gnocchi with pesto sauce as a second app. Best gnocchi ever! Light and delicate pillows of goodness! For main course we ordered the always delicious chicken Romano and a new chicken dish with peach, white grapes, toasted pistachios in a Galliano cream sauce. The boneless chicken breast is tender and moist in both dishes. The chicken Romano has a light cheesy egg batter with a lemon cream sauce. The chicken with fruit has a complex sweetness with vanilla, anise and spices from the creamy Galliano sauce that melds with the fruit and nuts. This dish is a good choice to try something different. For dessert, we had the delicious tiramisu. It is made in-house. It is light in texture but tastes rich and creamy. The pistachio gelato was a perfect finale to the chicken frutti . The service was friendly, attentive and well timed. It was a very enjoyable experience.
This was our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised. Our meals were high quality and the owners went out of their way to verify our complete satisfaction. The service was attentive and helpful. The pasta is made on premise with imported wheat and the chef completed a special request perfectly. We will return the next time we desire true Italian cuisine with a friendly atmosphere.
