Nan Thai Fine Dining Ratings and Reviews
LOVE THIS PLACE!! This restaurant was always on my "to try" list in Atlanta, but after eating at so many restaurants in Atlanta, my friends and I wanted to give Nan a try.
Easy parking. Despite the cold weather, the Valet still treat us like a royalty and wait patiently in the cold while our friends get their stuff together.
We were welcomed by the staff who all say a greeting in Thai “Sawa dee ka”. I really liked the vibe of the staff all working together in unison and they seem like they enjoy being there.
Beautiful restaurant! We sat at the center platform of the restaurant overlooking the kitchen and the giant statue of Tamarind. Comfortable booth and love all the candles. The food was excellent and this is the greatest service I have experienced possibly ever in my life.
Overall, we were very happy and we’ll be back soon.
Nan is a feast for all the senses. The setting is elegant, calm, uncluttered. My dinner companion likened it to the ambiance of a fine spa. From the easy parking, smooth, efficient, unhurried yet timely and friendly service, to the excellent wine list and exquisitely prepared and presented food, the whole experience left us feeling pampered and completely satisfied. Oh, and the food? Absolutely delicious.
This is one of our Atlanta favorites that we just don't get to often enough. Everything was wonderful! Delicious drinks at the bar with a friendly and attentive bar staff (that doesn't happen everywhere). Waiters that truly know the menu and have great recommendations! Food that has incredible flavor and beautiful presentation. Will absolutely make it back!
I love Thai food. Nan Thai Fine Dining took everything I love about Thai food to an even higher level. Their chefs are true artists layering all the flavors, so each can unfurl across your tongue as you savor each bite. The portions were perfectly sized—not so much that one’s taste buds get inundated. The staff were helpful, courteous and the decor offered clean lines and comfy upholstered benches and chairs. The lighting was soft without being so dim that one could not see one’s dining partners or the menus. Everything we ordered was served at the proper temperature, in the right order, and glasses were never less than half full throughout the meal.
Exactly what we expected from the hype train that is Nan Thai Fine Dining.
When we arrived at the restaurant, thank goodness for easy valet parking right in front of the restaurant since the weather was pretty ruthless.
We were seated within about 2 minutes. The dining room was very big, open and spacious since each table was spaced very well. From the very start of our meal, our grizzled, funny waitress was fantastic. She was professional, but wity, thru in the occasional joke and had an impeccable memory. It was impressive listening to her reel off the entire menu and their ingredients like she was reading a book. The menu didn't comprise of many items and seemed simple to follow, but each item was very intriguing, which made it difficult to figure out what we wanted.
In the end, we "settled" on the following and let me end the suspense here ... none of it disappointed!
The Lobster Pad Thai & Red Snapper as recommended was so good! It’s the best whole fish & Pad Thai we had ever had anywhere. The Kung Yang Panang – another winner here. We only wished there was more of it.
If you're going to visit Nan, then you have to go all out - don't skip dessert and we felt we left no stone unturned. Every item we ordered was better than the previous. The service was excellent too (Vanda & Nick). For any foodie making a pilgrimage here, all I can say is, hype is for when things don't live up to the reviews and there just is no hype here. It's the real deal.
It was our first time dining at this lovely restaurant and it won’t be our last. From the instant greeting from the host, our attentive and knowledgeable server to the most delicious Thai food we’ve had thus far enriched our experience here. And finally after dinner, we met the owner, Nan, and her graciousness was the icing on the cake for us.
Food and atmosphere was great! Unfortunately I had serious allergic reaction ( breakout of hives and muscle spasms which got me to the Irgent care the next day, and not fully recovered. I will still recommend my friends over because of the food and excellent customer service
The food and ambiance of the place was very great. The service was a bit slow. It took a while for someone to take our order once we were seated. 25 minutes to be exact. No apologies just hey would you like something to drink. Ahhh yeah of course and food too. We finally ordered and our waitress wasn’t very attentive. Vanda was her name. She just seemed to either be all over the place or just concerned about certain tables. Overall the place and food like I stated was great. I’ll def come back as long as I have a better waitress.
The host who guided us was not smiling at all and was very unpleasant.. the entrees were in warm temperature but the combination appetizer tree were like straight out from a fridge.. and we had to wait extra 30mins even though, we have made a reservation.. this was our third time visiting but especially this visit was very disappointing.. cold food & careless service without candle lights.. just horrible.. whoever goes here will be very ramlndomly serviced.. I have warned you people!!!!
We celebrated Christmas with friends. The service is always attentive without being intrusive. We started off our dinner with a "tasting tree" and ordered special entrees that included perfectly prepared lobster, shrimp, scallops in a heavenly sauce! Yes, the food was divine! And, we enjoyed the live music in the background.
Oh so delicious!
We celebrated Christmas here and it was perfection!
I was going back and forth between the sea bass and dover sole, but eventually decided in the sea bass. So glad I did! It was the best I've had compared to several other restaurants.
Our server warned us in advance about the wait since it's Christmas and their busiest time of the year. So we ordered everything at once and the food came out just in time.
I also had the Lychee martini. A bit too sweet, but the two Bangkok Rose I ordered after made up for it!
The deserts were amazing too. We ordered the coconut cake and crème brule - oh so good!
The waitress Vanda was helpful and the environment speaks for itself. Loved it!
Great decoration and service. It has that fine dining ambience which is great for a date night. However, the food is definitely not authentic and is extremely overpriced with small portions. I’m Cambodian and grew up eating authentic Thai food and other Asian cuisines, so if you are looking for good food with decent portion, this is not the place for you.
Nan Thai is an old favorite for both business and social purposes. I didn't even realize until afterward that it was both the last restaurant to which I took my late wife in December 2016 before she entered hospice care and, a year later, the first restaurant to which I took a date when on my first "first date" in 35.5 years, six month after my late wife's death.
It took us 45 minutes after being seated for our server to take our orders. There were people coming into the restaurant long after us that were taken care of more quickly. There were supposed to be 3 servers per table but we struggled to have anyone help us. They offered us a free dessert but we were ready to leave.
I was 100% pleased. I tend to be quite picky but I found this restaurant on point. Despite arriving about 20 minutes late our reservation was honored. I was a little surprised because it was a busy time with every table occupied but we were warmly greeted and seated within minutes of arrival. The ambiance is cozy and inviting. Our server, Nick, was remarkably attentive despite also serving a huge party of maybe 15 amongst other tables and with what he didn’t catch as quickly (ie refilling our wine glasses) other servers filled in for. The food was amazing and came out quickly! Such a creative preparation of flavors. I love Thai and must admit this was some of the best I have had. I tasted the time and love put into its preparation. Definitely recommend all food junkies check this out and agree with other reviews that it’s a must you go if you’re in Atlanta!
