LOVED every single dish!
The food was a wonderful as the last time, but the service was disappointing.
We sat on the patio on a hot evening. The music was not our taste and too loud. The food was good, tasted very fresh.
The closest to authentic Greek food in Vancouver. It is mostly small portions (like Tapas) so you try different stuff. Very nice and friendly service. Highly recommended
The presentation of the food was beautiful. The taste even better!! Ambience is absolutely lovely!
the food is very good. drinks could improve. staff is excellent.
Our first time at Nammos and it was great.
Food was delicious. Came out quickly. Our server Lucas was very knowledgeable of the menu and quite fun.
Definitely will return.
Why doesn't the restaurant read the reviews? There are reviews that the music is too loud which was the case . We brought it to the server's attention and his response was that's the way people like it. Are we not customers too? On leaving my friend also mentioned it, possibly to the manager and we were then told we could ask to have it turned down where we were seated. Not sure what what more we could have done when we did bring it to the servers attention. Our voice and head hurt from the volume. Putting that aside it was a treat to have the food tapas style, enjoyed the variety. Food came hot, delicious and we did not feel rushed nor did we have to wait for the food. Hands down the must have is the lamb chops. Overall an enjoyable evening had it not been for the high volume music level so you have to shout to be heard. They need to decide who their clientele is or who they strive to be, a pub atmosphere or a restaurant.
Went to check out this restaurant in the early evening with 5 adults, one child, and two babies.
Was very happy with the space they had to accommodate all of us. We ordered many different dishes. All were quite tasty and a fair price for the size. Everyone in our crew was really glad we came.
Awesome food, great service, would definitely recommend.
love this restaurant, always great service, our waiter was the best
Octopus was not fresh. Other than that, good tasty.
For price, service not great
We enjoyed the food. The service was slow to start and then very pleasant. However, the music was so loud that we spent the evening shouting to be heard. We left feeling rung out. I would go back if it was quieter or to sit outside, but otherwise, I’ll give this place a pass. There are many good Greek restaurants in town.
Service was excellent. We had the veal and moussaka and both were outstanding. One of the servers (not ours) suggested for our veal dish that we mix the bone marrow with the mash potatoes while the gravy is till hot 🤤 It was amazing.
Great food and great service as usual. The music is a little loud.
Food was excellent. Service could have been better.
We had the lamb chops and beef balls, and both of them were rather tastesless. Also, as it's tapa's style, the portions were much smaller than what we would normally expect from a Greek Restaurant. The portions of the dishes were dissappointing, but the service was great. Would I go there again? Probably not.
This was one of the best meals we've had. Everything was fantastic; from the fabulous cocktails and Greek wine selection, the decor, and the best food! Great experience!
We've been to this restaurant several times before, but not for a few years. As always, the service was very good, and I think the food was even better this time than on previous visits. Everything we had was delicious, the prices are good, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
they should mention that the dishes are shareable sizes on the menu because it does make the meal a little more expensive when you go in a big group.
Veal and octopus was absolutely spectacular. Food was authentic but very expensive for the portion sizes - not exactly tapas style. BEST cheesecake I've EVER had! Overall impression was a great night out.
We were a large group and the waiter was Beyond Rude!!! He was argumentative and disrespect!! Worst treatment ever!!!!!! We will never go back there again! Their portions have also shrunk drastically and their prices are outrageous for what you get!!
Nammos is an out-of-the-ordinary Greek Restaurant. Not the traditional kind of which there are many excellent versions in Vancouver but more edgy, great room, fine service, noisy but somehow quite manageable to chat sitting round the table. I would rate it extraordinary but for one failing, which is significant: the quality of the dishes if highly variable. When six of us ate their a few nights ago, the sea bass, kalamari, octopus, tzatsiki, and lamb chops were all excellent. But the saganaki, moussaka, and lamb shoulder were all indifferent at best and arguably poor. The saganaki was slightly warmed but not even melted or even close to the desired temperature. The moussaka was drowning in bechamel to the point that the other ingredients were invisible. The lamb shoulder was okay but if nothing else, I would order the (excellent) lamb chops every time over the shoulder. So I fear, in the competitive Vancouver restaurant market, their failure to achieve (and even to seek) excellence throughout will ultimately be their downfall. Too bad because we need more of these kinds of Greek establishments. (re: "even to seek"...I mentioned the saganaki to the Manager who shrugged me off by quipping something like, "the Chef is bigger than me." I'm sure my suggestion was not passed on. I clicked Yes above, that I would recommend Nammos to a friend but only with these caveats. And even with them, I'm not sure I'll go again.
The food was excellent - some different dishes that I haven't had at other Greek/Mediterranean restaurants. Each was well executed, generous portions, nicely presented and very tasty (even our leftovers are good). The service was excellent. The prices are reasonable for the very good quality. But it was too noisy and I won't return there again for dinner unless I plan to start dinner post 2000 hours, as many people had left by then. I cannot fathom why they need to have the music on in the background, as it just adds another layer to the high noise level and doesn't create ambiance. I noticed that other reviews have remarked on this as well, so why not turn off or certainly lower the music considerably. I was also there for brunch a few weeks ago - great place, no hesitation in recommending it for a meal at that time of the day,. Food was excellent, again some different and appealing choices, service and prices good.
We appreciate the fact that the restaurant is child-friendly (perhaps some menu options for children would be helpful? smaller portions of pasta or?)
The menu is a huge step up from your average Greek restaurant--food is delicious, and choices, interesting.
We would enjoy some wine options, other than Greek!
Will be back again!
Food was good and the servers attentive. The music was a bit loud. Other than that, no complaints.
Great food and great service. The music was a bit too loud but other than that we had a wonderful night catching up with friends.
The music was quite loud, and our party of 4 had a hard time talking with each other. The food is a bit pricey, as well. It was so dark, that we could not read our menu's and had to use a flashlight on our cell phone. The hip-hop music was constant and quite irritating. You really should look at the age of your customers, the vast majority of them are over 35, 50, 60 and higher. How about thinking of them.
A radical departure from your typical Greek food that is served in other restaurants. Loved the absence of Hummus from the menu (Hummus is not Greek). The “tapas” idea let’s you try many different dishes. Limited variety of wines.
We have been to Nammos a few times and we are generally very happy with the food.
However this time we opted for the Dine Out menu and we were not happy at all. The food came in much smaller portions compared to what we usually had. We understand that the portions were adjusted to the price, but we are not sure that this is the whole point of Dine Out. Had that been the case, they should have at least let us know that they are adjusting portions.
Regarding taste, the feta with honey was too salty and there were a couple of tiny bones in my fish fillet. The desserts and the lamb were delicious.
The service was ok but not as good as other times we have been there. We believe that was entirely up to the waiter who did seem a bit distracted.
Again, we generally consider Nammos to be a great although pricey restaurant, but this time we were left disappointed.
Great atmosphere and good food served by friendly staff
Dine out Vancouver 2019
Food was spectacular and the service excellent. Great value for authentic Greek food. It’s wasn’t my first visit nor will be my last.
Three of us ordered from theDine out menu and the one ordered from the menu; all raved about each dish brought. The place was busy and noisy but the service was prompt and friendly. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks available and his recommendations were spot on. We plan to go back!
Food was delicious however the seafood option for entree for dine out Vancouver option was very small and disappointing. Plan piece of fish wish two carrots and green beans, cauliflower purée which was about two tablespoons worth :(
Our service was terrible. Food was mediocre. Yes I know you can never expect the best during dine out but for a restaurant that wasnt even full, the whole experience left a bad taste.
Great food, interesting variations on Greek traditional dishes.
Excellent food and friendly helpful staff. Our only quibble was the noise level - stratospheric!
Our host suggested we avoid coming on weekends to enjoy lower decibels. We thought the music with its strong backbeat was contributing but apparently clients like it. We will return as it's in our 'hood but not on a weekend.
Really delicious food and not your standard Greek fare that you find in Vancouver. The feta wrapped in phyllo is a must try!
