Nama Sushi Bar - Elliston
Book your next event with us
Nashville has good sushi restaurants. Nama on Elliston isn't one of them. The service was terribly slow and uneven for a restaurant that had, at most, 3/4 of the tables seated. After waiting for 45 minutes for our food, my donburi was served at room temperature. The side roll had the wrong fish on it with undercooked rice. To some extent, it's hard to know whether the majority of the fault lies with the front of the house or the back of it, except for the rice, however it's clearly a restaurant problem. I would have sent everything back but we were going to be late for our event, and my wife enjoyed her food, so sometimes you take one for the team. However, with the great selection of restaurants Nashville does have, we won't be returning.
Bennie was our server on Saturday night as we celebrated my husband's birthday. He was AMAZING. He took great care of us, had the chef create sushi for the 4 of us to share and made us laugh the whole time. We were even greeted by a sign on the table reading "Happy Birthday". The food was spectacular! I highly recommend letting the chefs do their thing and trusting that it will be delicious. The Lychee martini was the perfect pairing with our meal. Bennie even wrote "Happy Birthday" on our dessert plate. We felt welcomed and the whole experience was great. I highly recommend! And ask for Bennie :)
Great experience. I like this location more than Brentwood.
Service and quality has really gone down hill. Tuna roll ordered tasted off and was sent back.
Awesome spot!!! Food is delicious, vibe is chill, and service is top notch...our server, Ryan, is attentive and friendly...my favorite bite of the night was the chef’s special...the chef chooses for you (so I don’t remember what we had) but it was superb...I would recommend Nama sushi bar-Elliston to anyone
Family in town! Such a great experience at Nama! Can’t go wrong with any of the rolls... we tried 8 and they were all amazing
Food and service was great. Definitely will make a regular stop before football games.
Love Nama! Their happy hour specials are great and always a wonderful experience.
Great place for sushi. And the lunch specials are great. We all LOVED our meal; however, one thing to know...If you don't like fish or sushi then this not the place for you.
It’s our 5th time and every time just has been the same something wasn’t great problem with food order problem with service ... we ordered fantasy or firecracker shrimp which was awesome but took everrrr to come out.... much too long for an appetizer. My wife ordered a bowl of rice and done eel sauce that almost never came and a diet Pepsi ... again same thing. After we fished the shrimp we were waiting on some sushi and my wife’s salad just a house salad and like 20 min later I called a manager over and he was excellent... got the salad brought it out and actually saw him speaking to our waiter 3-5 min after that calmly explaining - were weren’t MADD just annoyed and getting ANSY and still hungry. Sushi came out shortly after that - the spicy Cali roll was way too on the spicy side but fine - too hot for my wife - my nigiri was good tuna wasn’t great but yellow tail was decent at best - i will say the manager did take 25% off bill which was very nice and not necessary but appreciated .. showed he cared and we’ll go back for that shrimp but won’t be regular customers with lots of choices out there for sushi ....
Been here several times. Really really love the food. It is a tad bit expensive but not terrible. Unfortunately there was a screaming kid a few tables down but overall an enjoyable experience! I will be back :)
We love Nama! Half price sushi night is our favorite and had wonderful service.
We really enjoyed Nama. The sushi was excellent. Parking was a breeze much easier than downtown or the gulch. Our waiter was friendly and guided us through the menu.
Service was great, food was okay, prices were very expensive for the quality of the food. The tuna tartare was a disappointment but the specialty rolls were yummy. Overall, I wouldn't come back here.
One of the best sushi restaurants in Nashville. So good.
Had great happy hour specials but getting drinks from the bar took forever. Our server was great and food was good. Would go again.
Not my favorite sushi place m, it’s good but not the best I’ve had. But their salads are amazing. The service has not been the best when we go there.
Absolutely... The only drawback was our server. He wasn't very attentive. I was trying to entertain very a important client so it was a little frustrating. Fortunately the food made up for it!
Very good sushi! Great outdoor seating! Highly recommend!
Inexperienced wait staff
Our favorite sushi spot in town. Soy Joy and Royale rolls are our go-to. Fun, modern atmosphere with lots of open space.
Very slow service. Food is good but not special. Not much else to say
This is my favorite sushi spot in Nashville. The food is always impeccable and the service, spot on. I recommend the Asiago crab dip and the salmon maki! They also have a great happy hour!
More upscale environment for sushi. Also lots of other options on the menu. Love the ceviche. Great outdoor patio. Kids menu too.
Food and services very were fantastic! Trendy spot in the West End. Definitely a way to avoid the downtown rush if you are looking for great sushi in Music City.
One of my favorite restaurants in Nashville! We usually come during happy hour, where they have such great deals, but came for dinner instead. The crab asiago dip is always so good, and the maki rolls were fresh and delicious. Great ambiance and food, always!
Great sushi and even better service. Really enjoyed it.
I love Nama. The sushi is always so fresh. It’s usually pretty easy to get into if you have to make last minute reservations. Highly recommend!
Excellent food and presentation. A bit on the noisy side. Lots of menu choices.
Great food, had a great time!
Overall a good experience; we were there for a birthday party. However, our service was not that great. Took a while to get anyone's attention to order drinks and actually ended up in an argument with our service regarding the happy hour rules.
Nama Sushi was really good and I enjoyed my 53rd birthday there with my son, his girlfriend and myboyfriend. Thank you for making my night very special!
The sushi, though unremarkable, was fresh and well-presented. Our server was wonderful, however I can't recall her name. She prepared me a "mocktail" that was refreshing and delicious. If you don't care that the sushi isn't unique, you will enjoy this place.
Great food and great service from a trainee.
Good overall. Portions of sashimi were nice size. Server did a great job.
Sushi was great quality, everything was wonderful. Service was exceptional and everything was very reasonably priced.
I had the oddest experience. Was there for a business lunch meeting. Arrived a few minutes before reservation, was seated promptly. My two clients joined me within 5 minutes. The restaurant was not busy, with less than half the tables filled. From 12:00 to 12:15, no less than 6 different staff came by to ask if we were ready to order. Different people each time. We had barely sat down, hadn't looked at the menu, and had already been asked twice. Each time, someone different. It kept happening every 3-4 minutes, while we were trying to have a conversation. We felt very awkwardly rushed. We started laughing about how odd it was. At one point, I kid you not, one waitress came to ask if we were ready to order ("not yet!"), and another waiter lined up behind her and waited for her to leave and then immediately asked if we were ready to order??? Was not a good experience.
The service was great, the food was fine. It’s a little pricey for what felt like chain restaurant sushi
We absolutely loved Nama Sushi Bar. The food was the only thing we've found that compared to the sushi bars we ate at in Vegas. Will definitely be returning next time we are in the Nashville area.
