Naked Crab- B Ocean Resort
The only good thing about that evening was our waiter. The food was tasteless and made us sick after. The restaurant was used as a cut through by people going to hotel , making us feel like we’re sitting in a hallway . Never again !!
The hosted acted like it was a problem for her to seat us at 8:15pm even though we had reservations for 8pm and it was NOT very busy or crowded. She walked really far ahead and nodded her head in the direction of the table, with no menus. The server bought menus then told us she'd give us a few minutes, which turned into 20 minutes. The food was just okay, my sea bass was supposed to be grilled, but instead it was fried. The food was not worth the amount of money charged for it. Every time we asked for something, for exam a drink menu, it took 20 minutes to get. Overall, the experience was bad. We will NOT be going back to the Naked Crab.
We ordered food that took almost 40-45 minutes. While waiting for it we received dessert. Ooooookay.... Pear salad was ok. Veela was stuff and over cooked. Also ordered they lobster rice ate half and asked for a to-go box for the rest only to learn that somehow they threw the left-overs away. Good luck!!!
Valentines Day. Arrived at the restaurant only to learn that the menu was “special” for valentines. The choices were poor. There were many customers complaining about the switch in menu and poor selections.
Poor customer service. Restaurant was at about 30% occupancy and took them about 20min to bring us to out table and another 15min to come and wait us at our table. Food is nothing impressive and very expensive
Came here for a Birthday dinner while in Ft Lauderdale, service was horrible and the food was just Ok. Server took a long time to take our order and never came back to check on our food or ask if we needed more drinks. Some steaks were extremely overdone while others we underdone. Food seemed very expensive for what we got, and our money would have been much better spent at any other restaurant in the area. Menu is full of misprint and the prices on the menu were inconsistent with what we were charged. Restaurant has no atmosphere and has specials written on the wall that they no longer offer. We were very disappointed with the crab offerings at a restaurant called the Naked crab.
We were really excited to try out the Naked Crab, but our experience was unfortunately not pleasant. The place was almost empty when we got there, so we were seated immediately. We ordered the orecchiette dish with seafood (calamari and shrimp). The pasta was undercooked, as was the seafood. The sauce was even cold. Our waitress disappeared for 25 minutes and never refilled our water. For the price and after our reccent experience, we won't be back.
Went for the Christmas Brunch 2018. The food was fresh and delicious! Wonderful service as well!
We had the most memorable and excellent meal prepared by Chef David Morales...from start to finish it was exquisite
The food was amazing! Must order the filet, it comes serve on a salt block. And the Crab Risotto is outstanding.
They had reserved seating but where I was placed was too close to others. I have a food allergy and the smell of citrus affects me. The folks next to be ordered lobster and they squeezed the lemon. I had to run outside.
My 11yr old had to ask them to remove the lemon because it affects my breathing.
I didn't have my EpiPen so it couldve been worse.
When someone requests to be moved it shouldn't be a problem especially if theres a good reason.
Besides not having good seating. They were no glassware at our table and my son pointed that out.
I didn't care for the food and neither did my son but the dessert was the best.
Group of 7 had a great time. Our server not used to the dinner hour, and we ended up with stuff we didn’t order, and some confusion. I never eat seafood unless I can see salt water, no problem here, it’s just out back or across the street.
Overall good. Not a lot of choice
Food was good
Service poor on the night we were there - order was wrong and main course arrived too soon whilst we were eating our appetizers-hate that!
We visited this restaurant as a part of the Crave Greater Ft. Lauderdale prefix menu deal. At first we were skeptical because menu was unfamiliar. So we asked our waitress a ton of questions about many of the dishes on the menu. Only one of the 4 of us selected from the pre-fixed menu. Everything we selected that CiCi (our waitress) suggested was precise and on point! Omg the food was delicious and offered us other available dishes we wouldn't have given a try. Thank you Cici.
This was the worst meal I've had in recent memory. The Lobster in the Caesar Salad was like rubber. The NY Strip was tough at medium rare and the service was nearly nonexistent. I suppose when the service is automatically added to the check, the waitress feels as if she really doesn't have to put forth much effort. Do yourself a favor and book a table elsewhere.
Food and service was great.
Halibut was beautifully presented and excellent taste. Great location for the beach
We were there for an anniversary dinner. Ty and Sharon made sure that we were well taken care of. The service was outstanding and the food was fantastic. We had the tomahawk steak it was definitely the highlight of our night. We will be back.
The food was pricey but well worth it. I'll be back.
I stayed at table waiting for service for more than20 minutes without anyone to come over for service and present the menu. The restaurant had only few tables with customers.
Delicious from start to finish. A perfect birthday dinner
Overall experience was very good though a little pricey. Everyone enjoyed
Good food nice server
Food was over priced and not very good. The service was excellent but I would not go there again based on the poor food and lack of real seafood choices. No crab legs choice no shrimp choices etc...
They took about 15 minutes to seat us, they had plenty of tables available. They sat us and the table was ready for only two people. Ordered a blend wine they had on the menu and the server came back saying it was not available. Ordered another drink from the menu with tequila, was not available either since they didn’t have some of the ingredients they use to make the drink. No water was ever brought to the table. Server seem not to have any experience or knowledge about the menu, it looked like if it was the first they at work. Had to get up myself to ask for water and a menu since only one menu was provided to us because the server said they did not have enough menus. I believe it was the manager who ended up helping me with an extra menu and getting our drinks order. We ordered a pound of the crab legs, a whole fried fish that never arrived to the table because the server forgot, vegetables to go with the fish, and an order of chicken wings. The crab legs were a little salty, the fish, well, can’t tell never got it, and the chicken wings were good. We waited more than normal long time for the fish and asked the server who answered he forgot to please not to say anything to not get in in trouble, we kind of felt bad so we dispute even bothered to tell the manager. When we asked for the check, I personally had to go back in the restaurant (had reserved outside seating) to ask someone else for the check, the manager saw me again and he told me he was going to bring the check for us. So he did, and said that he had taken care of 20% discount of the check because all the inconvenience which was very nice of him. The manager was nice but overall I would not recommend the Naked Crab Restaurant to anyone.
Popped up as recommended on Facebook and was 10 mins walk from our hotel. Very disappointed. Service not very attentive and food pretty average although pricey. Lobster tails quite chewy and main course arrived whilst half way through appetisers. Wouldn’t recommend.
The food is WAY overpriced but decent. We had a reservation and arrived to a nearly empty restaurant (we walked all the way through to get to the host station). We were immediately nervous as it was one of the few places we could get a reservation on a BUSY Spring Break Friday night. Even though the restaurant was empty and we had a reservation, we were made to wait 10 minutes for a table in the extremely noisy hotel lobby. The food was better than expected but not as good as the prices they were charging. And everything is ala carte. Service was only fair. The servers were friendly but largely absent, never checking on us or refilling drinks. The Florida lobster tail was a bit overcooked and the whipped potatoes were tasty though nothing special. Desserts were better. The outdoor seating is nothing special; a view of the parking garage.
Service was horrible. Waited an hour for our food and wasn’t checked on for drinks or anything else until we were finished,
Food is OK. Service was pretty good. Really falls short on the value proposition though. For $100 per person (tip included) I expect more quality and variety of entree. For a place called the naked crab, I would expect more than 2 crab entrees on the menu. Oh well. As a local, don’t know if I will return.
Chose to dine here because of the 4 star Yelp review, but it ma not 4 stars. Expensive, average food and average service.
On a recent Thursday to Monday vacation getaway to Fort Lauderdale, we ended up eating dinner twice at the Naked Crab. The food eclipsed the other restaurants we ate is in Los Olas, Hollywood and Ft. Lauderdale. I highly recommend the Lobster Orecchiette, it's delicious! (I heard the surf and turf was equally tasty.) They have a good wine selection and it's really reasonably priced. If you're lucky, you'll get Hector as your waiter... his smile is the perfect complement to your meal.
Great food and service.
The food was very good —loved the bacon wrapped dates appetizer and our fish entrees were delicious. Our server was friendly, however, the bar service was woefully slow for both rounds. Between that and the obnoxiously loud tables around us, our evening felt sub-par.
We were running late for our reservation so we called and informed them of that. They said no problem you're all set when you get here. When we arrived the hostess (not who we spoke to on the phone) said since you're late it will be about 15 minutes.
I explained that we called and were told that it was no problem. She ignored that and instructed us to get a drink at the bar. It was a few minutes later when the manager approached her and asked why weren't seated. I don't know what her answer was but he started yelling at her. She then came over and said we can seat you now. I asked if it was a good table since we were told we had to wait. She told me to go in the dining room and pick my table. She did not go with me. When I walked in I was shocked to see the restaurant was basically empty. It was an easy decision at that point to bail on the whole thing.
When I walked out of the dining room she asked if I had picked my table. I told her we were leaving and she acted astonished and agitated which in itself was remarkable. I simply stated why would you make us wait at an empty restaurant? To which she replied " because you were late for your reservation"! So if I didn't have a reservation you'd have sat me right away?
How can you dine at a place with that level of insanity in the front of the house? Answer; you can't!
Went for dinner on New Year's Eve. It was busy but not crazy. Eat inside. Atmosphere is nice maybe a little loud but overall very comfortable. Everyone was pleasant and attentive. Overall service very good. Although our actual server did very little and seemed stretched and not having the time to really be engaged. Food was very good+ and came out very fast for a busy night.
Would recommend and will go back. Maybe next time for Brunch or Lunch and sit outside??? A "Check it out" place for all you tourist as it is right on Fort Lauderdale Beach! The old Yankee Clipper Hotel.
Save you time and money. This place is awful. We made a reservation at7:15. Arrived at 7:05. Had to wait and hour for a table in a restaurant 1/4 full. It was New Year’s Eve, but we had 4 kids so we went early. We missed most of a party we had tickets for due to the horrible service. Once we were sat we had to wait over an hour for our food. The kids had lost it by then. When we did get the food it was GROSS. We had 5 orders of crab legs. They were clearly not fresh and completely waterlogged. The shells were like plastic rubber and the meat inside was disgusting. I cannot stress enough to not go to this restaurant.
Its like eating in a school cafeteria. Very loud with lots of children in a small confined area. The space you eat in is basically an unusable corner of the hotel. The service was super slow and we waited close to an hour to get our table even though we had reservations. The dress code is listed as business casual but they let people in with shorts and denim jeans. It was super casual like a lunch cafe not a real dinner restaurant. The staff was overwhelmed or incredibly inexperienced.
We went to the Naked Crab for New Year's Eve dinner with a group of 6 after reading very favorable reviews and having a 'celebrity' chef. It was tough to get a reservation, so we assumed it would be a bustling place with great food. Sadly, it was fairly empty with no energy, the service was very slow (but quite personable), and our meal took 3 hours. Three of us had the prix fixe menu which was largely pretty good (soup was tepid and flavorless but salad and entree were good). Two out of three off-the-menu orders were sub-par and one was sent back - snow crab and steak. It was a very mixed bag and rather disappointing for New Year's Eve. We learned that the other restaurant in the hotel was slammed and was pull resources from ours. Needless to say, not a festive way to close out the year.
