Great food. Cool decor and design. Very loud. I highly recommend the duck tacos and the octopus.
I was really wavering between three and four stars for Nahita. And I really wanted to like it. After eating dinner there last night with my partner, however, I left a bit disappointed.
Let's start with the good:
-Beautiful decor, tableware and environment inside
-Attentive and friendly staff all around
-Very good sashimi
The not so good
-Although friendly, our server was not the most knowledgeable about the menu and didn't really help us with choosing a balanced meal.
-The men's restroom is kind of difficult to find, which is ok. What's not ok is that at a prime dinner hour, the restroom is out of soap and hand towels.
-The menu is quite expensive for the portion size. Some things are justifiably expensive, like high grade fish. But some things aren't like $6 cappuccino. We spent $250 between the two of us.
We ended up walking out of Nahita overall satisfied, if a bit conflicted. I'm glad the restaurant is in the neighborhood and may try it again another time.
Nahita was incredible!!! Stop looking and book this place now! My wife and I love Japanese food and we love authentic Peruvian. This place offers an unbelievably great fusion of the two. Inventive and creative dishes that channel traditional styles for Japan and Peru respectively. Expect incredible fresh ingredients and amazingly high quality sea food.
Our experience was wonderful! Our server was great. The only criticism I have is that we ordered the snapper and they had run out and brought us branzino instead without telling us.
Eclectic and creative food. Excellent wine list. But the service was overbearing and intrusive and the space was cavernous making for poor accoustics. When they knew we were going to order wine (we are fairly savvy with wine), the sommelier was insistent on telling us what to order. He annoyed us. Then the waiter kept hovering asking us what we wanted. Once we voiced our displeasure they backed off. But we not very happy.
We had a delightful time and lots to drink. The bill was ginormous
One of the best meals !
And lovely ambience
A great choice in Boston
Was basically underwhelmed given the price point. Service was not great.
We love having eating at the bar. The food and drinks are outstanding. Service is top notch and the decor is beautiful. Vibe feels like a classy restaurant in NYC
The salad was too salty and too limey- the meatballs and the dessert were both fantastic.
The cocktail that I had gotten was good for the first few sips, but over time, it became apparent that it was too overpowering/flavorful.
The service was good.
Loved this place! Food was delicious and well priced for the portions. Atmosphere was incredible. Service was extremely prompt. Only negative feedback is that our waitress wasn’t helpful at all when we asked for recommendations about any of the food. Every answer was basically “everything is great!”
First time at Nahiti....great experience !! From atmosphere, servers, food !!
My wife and I had a horrendous experience at Nahita. We decided to start with a drink at the bar as they are known for cocktails. The “mixologist” was far too into being a “mixologist” to even acknowledge our presence. Once he decided he was ready he was nice enough and drinks were great.
From there we sat down at our table and started with prawns and queso fundido both very good the fundido in particular. That’s when we started being ignored by our waiter and the most obnoxious man on the face of the planet started howling laughing and screaming a table over from us for the duration of our meal. I think he was such a hand full that the service was actually poor due to this man. (He was so obnoxious the server actually comped our dessert.) From then on it was difficult to get a drink and we ordered (4) orders of tacos which were pretty good but I don’t think I would go back for them.
The service and the obnoxious man played a large part in the experience of this restaurant. Esthetically beautiful but the food wasn’t special enough to overcome it, more of a pretender in my experience.
What the duck?
Ever since Liquid Art House closed, I’ve been curious what’s going to happen at the same empty space. I finally had an opportunity to spurge. After all, it was my birthday. (In the end, my friend was very generous to grab the bill. Thanks Andy!) Overall, I have to say, I love Nahita much more than Liquid Art House.
Our server was very attentive. The ambience was great. The menu was very intriguing. Almost every single plate was surprisingly delicious or revolutionary, especially the duck. The presentation was amazing. It was such a ritual to see the server skillfully sliced the duck. Even the very next day, I was still dreaming about the aroma of the duck during my yoga class!!!!
You MUST save room for dessert when you go to Nahita! Don’t miss the dessert platter so you can try a little bit of everything on the menu. What I love about the dessert at Nahita is how complex the flavor profile is. It’s well balanced. Sweet, salty, spicy…so much going on in my mouth! The presentation was also impeccable. Many new places opened in Boston this past year, I would say Nahita is the one you can never miss!
Just a wonderful place, can’t wait to back!
I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. We had 10 different “main” servers. An expensive tab. And overly salted cuisine. We also had a very close talking fake “somm” that had no idea what he was talking about.
Great cerviches. Beautiful, interesting, exotic setting. Extremely nice server and service.
We had the duck for two and it was delicious! It came with tortillas and three sauces and the mole was to die for! However, the best was the sour dough bread, apparently baked in-house, and the home made yucca chips and some sort of cream cheese spread with lime!
The restaurant was phenomenal from start to finish. The unique space and ambiance set the tone for the entire evening. Our waitress, Ada, was personable and extremely helpful guiding us as to what to order for the group. We ended up with 2 appetizers and 3 different tacos with each dish tasting better than the last. We capped off the night with a great dessert. We will definitely be back!!!
I really wanted Nahita to be my new favorite restaurant in Boston, but between the oddly bright dining room, ho-hum service (our server was nice enough, but no explanations of dishes or education on the menu/concept - kind of necessary for a new restaurant), and an oddly limited menu (only THREE individual entrees?), I left kind of confused and not compelled to convince my friends to try this spot out. Now that they are open for lunch, I think this would be a better option because the dinner experience was a bit lackluster and certainly didn't live up to the price tag.
The hostess was reluctant to seat us, and nearly turned us away because our party had +1 to the original reservation. By the time we had arrived the restaurant had ample open seating, and accommodating one more didn’t pose an obvious issue given the number of open seats. It was only after expressing that we’d be thrilled to dine at Strega that the hostess offered to “check” if they could add one more. Many menu items were not available by the time we arrived, and the kitchen shut down immediately after we placed our order. So we could not order more entrees. Which brings me to portion size. Your tacos are not an entree. They are a 4 bite plate. Some of us left still hungry despite the $600 bill. We waited 30 minutes each time for a drink order.
Fun sharing menu. Nice ambiance and great wine list.
Wonderful food and service! We loved every minute of it!
Despite informing them of an onion allergy they kept bringing food with onions
We were looking forward to a special family dinner, but were very disappointed by our first visit to Nahita. I'm happy to pay for an evening with great food and service, but unfortunately Nahita delivered on neither.
We started with mediocre appetizers which were a sign of things to come - poorly executed dishes that lacked flavor and suffered from sitting too long in the kitchen. Every hot dish we ordered arrived at the table lukewarm, from tepid tacos to tepid coffee.
A queso fundido with chorizo somehow managed to lack any flavor and the shishito peppers were soggy and barely charred. Our tacos ($12 - $15 for two small tacos) arrived almost cold and lacking in flavor. My husband had ordered an entree of Beef Barbacoa, but was served tacos instead. It took so long for our server to come check on us that he just ate them instead of waiting for her return to the table.
We were pleased that the restaurant offered a gluten free menu since our son has Celiac disease, but there was a clear lack of training and follow through on gluten free at Nahita. The potato chips were included in the bread basket - if anyone in management spent a few minutes considering the experience of their gluten free guests, potato chips would be offered separately so they can be enjoyed by diners who have to eat gluten free. There was no gluten free dessert menu and the server was uneducated about what which desserts were gluten free. It was as if Nahita has decided that handing a guest a gluten free menu is the end of their attention to a gluten free diner, which was ironic because when we inquired if the flan was gluten free the server eventually figured out it was gluten free and it was delicious (the highlight of the meal).
And ending the evening with lukewarm $5 cups of coffee was just adding insult to injury. We had hoped to be able to add Nahita to our list of destinations for a special evening out, but as it is now, it won't be on our list.
Great new place! I’d give the overall vibe and food 5 stars hands down. The short rib was incredible and get the tuna tartare special if they have it!
Service I would give 2 stars. Our server was nowhere to be found most of the night. We waited around 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken and then another 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Then towards the end of our meal, we sat at our table with empty plates and drinks for another 10 minutes and no one acknowledged it. We would have loved to get another round of drinks and dessert but the wait times were not worth it.
Overall, I would come back again since the food and ambience was awesome but would be sure to have a different server or grab a seat at the bar.
We were very disappointed with the food and service. The menu looks great, but the food was bland and we didn't want to finish what we ordered. They charge a lot of $ for what it is. The service was poor as well, and it seemed that it was our waiter's first night there. It unfortunate as the room is beautiful and it's in a good location, but no way we're going back. Also, no valet!
Mediocre. Interesting cocktails. Delicious bread and homemade potato chips.
Queso with chorizo was extremely unappetizing since it was lukewarm and congealed.
Baby corn needs to be rethought. Corn silk bed crept into the edible parts of the dish. Also lukewarm.
Tacos were OK—but lukewarm.
Churros were excellent.
I had been excited to try Nahita, and my mom was visiting so we decided to go for dinner. The atmosphere is great (love the greenery). The food was really yummy, only suggestion would be to toss some sea salt onto the halibut tacos (minor). Only downsides were when ordering a glass of wine. I asked about the sweetness of the chenin blanc, knowing it can range from dry to medium sweet, and the waiter was not able to give me any answer. I ultimately decided on a Chardonnay, which was good. The wine list at Nahita is extensive, but waiters should at least know the characteristics of wine by the glass. Otherwise, the experience was great and I’ll likely be back.
Waitstaff not familiar with concept or cocktails
Appetizers came before cocktails
Coffee service set up terrible
Too expensive for this type of service
I don’t understand how/ why this restaurant is on every hot list in Boston right now (Eater, Thrillist etc.) The service was extremely slow and poorly timed. Bar area is so cold & drafty in front of main entry door. Great wine list but our bottle of wine didn’t show up until half way through the meal so we had nearly finished the meal. The food was okay, ceviche was very basic felt like something I could have made at home. Pork Belly tacos were so dry, not edible in my opinion, very little flavor. Cocktails were good, probably the highlight, so maybe it’s better as just a bar visit than restaurant.
nice ambiance, nice decor, service was a little slow on the night I was there. Well chosen and good wine list, with standard pricing policy. Food was fine. Some dishes better than others. But they need more pork/chicken and beef choices.
Food combinations were out there and a little challenging but good fun and very enjoyable
Sommelier recommendation for a French low priced Sav Blanc was spot on👍
We had a great time and the staff was wonderful and the chef was amazing as well! The food portion size while it is tapas was a little on the small side for the dollars.
Entire visit was amazing. Attentive server throughout the entire meal. Each bite was super flavorful. Enjoyed the variety of cocktails. Look forward to my next visit.
Food was not as good as expected. Menu looks delicious and presentation of food was very good. Just lacking in taste of overall food. The restaurant is beautiful and the interior is definitely why I will be back for drinks, but won’t be back to eat (well not the same things that’s for sure). Waitress wasn’t always around and forgot to bring us bread to the table (never received it after the fact). Hopefully food will improve! Would be such a shame if it didn’t do well.
All of the food was unique, fresh, and amazing!
Food was excellent. Beautiful decor. New restaurant, so I expect they’ll work to perfect the service and a few lighting hiccups. Overall a great experience and I will absolutely go back. There were a lot of things on the menu that I would love to go back and try.
Nahita proved to have great ambiance and very good service. Unfortunately the actual food was not on par. Nevertheless, I think and hope it is because the restaurant is relatively new and that soon they can improve.
Loved it. Food was amazing. Artichoke and Octopus are to die for
