We had a lovely visit to Nags Head. Great food, friendly service and reasonable prices.
Great food & service.
When booking confirmed I was told it would be warm. My mother (85) and all of us were cold. Big let down as it’s my Mum’s favourite pub.
A lovely place to go for an enjoyable lunch with a friend
Will definitely be going back
Always very good quality food at the nags head and that was the same on Sunday. We were in the Tipi which was good fun (although cold until it warmed up) but good for taking the kids because it felt less formal than the restaurant. Also great that they do kids meals (half roasts) for half price. My kids eat a lot but this was plenty for them. I’ll definitely be going back.
The Nags head is trying too hard. The chef is poor. I will not be going again.
Lovely evening with warm friendly staff. Very limited options for vegetarians.
A lovely setting, broad menu and excellent food and wine.
Best Sunday roast we’ve ever had at a pub. Exceptionally good food
Lovely Pub, people and food - cant fault the place and the Tipi with lights an a open fire place is just the cherry on top! I took my mum for a birthday surpise meal and she loved it - thank you Nags Head for still being here post Covid and I hope onwards and upwards for us all!
This was a return visit and did not dissapoint. Sunday lunch was lovely as were the staff.
Drinks order was wrong but easily and politely resolved. Pork belly disappointing as crackling was chewy and meat a bit tough but very flavoursome Has been excellent before.
For a mid-day get together with pals, this was the perfect venue - relaxed, very friendly service, super food and cosy, traditional ambiance. Thoroughly recommended!
Interesting dishes with unusual ingredients which actually work!!
Excellent friendly service from all of the staff we met. We felt really welcome and valued customers. The tepee tent was a lovely cosy place to eat, especially on an autumn night. The food was very good with a well thought out menu. Presentation was good and everything tasted fresh, flavourful and well seasoned. I was a little disappointed with the Scallop started which although tasty, could have benefitted from being presented on a plate as they were lost in a bowl with too much going on. Apart from that small thing a fantastic meal in a lovely place with great attentive staff. We will be back.
Had to ask for someone to take our order. Food came out, had to send one back as it was cold & when they bought it back out it was still not really hot. Nobody asked if we need anymore drinks. Overall experience was not good. I visited last year and it was a lot better then. For the prices they charge you expect hot food & a better service.
Service was excellent - friendly and informative. My only reservation was that, on a Sunday lunchtime, where families with children were dining, there was no children's menu though I appreciate that they could eat an adult menu at reduced price. Something along the lines of pasta or sausages would help. Also possibly more information on Vegan options though the waiter did give as much information as he could.
I have dined several times at the Nag's Head and really enjoyed it. This was the first time with children.
The Tipi seems a wonderful addition (though we did not dine there).
Thank you to the staff for their excellent service to us.
We had a lovely nights stay at the nags head. Our room was very comfortable & clean & looked newly refurbished. The food was so good & really delicious. Couldn’t fault the service. A warm and friendly atmosphere. We had drinks in the teepee after, which was also really lovely.
Loved the Tipi and our waitress was amazing 😘
We also stayed for two nights. The evening menu had a good selection and was superb. An extensive wine list too.
We had a lovely evening with fabulous food and wine and friendly service. Booked a table to take my parents when they visit at the end of the month and another table for Christmas week with our adult children in the Tent which looks as lovely now as it did in the summer. Thank you!
Great place for dinner, excellent service and high quality traditional menu.
We were there early before there were too many people. Were extremely well looked after and the food was excellent. Prices have gone u a bit which is not surprising. Service excellent and friendly
Delicious food and great service. The tipi is very cosy and a very pleasant place to have lunch.
The waitress and waiter was lovely and happy to have conversations. The food was delicious. Very lovely evening with my friend
We really enjoyed our meal at the Nags Head. We would appreciate a couple of vegan options.
Well done for the spacing of the table which made us feel Covid safe. Masks on staff would be even better.
First time here. Nice ambience. Very good food. Friendly, helpful service. Quite expensive but worth it for a treat out.
Beautiful meal in the yurt. Food, service, ambience perfect. Wouldn’t change anything and can’t wait to go back.
I do not wish to write a review and do not understand why feedback already offered is not sufficient
Outstanding , friendly and effective service and dellicious and creative food. Ambience excellent in their outdoor "Tipi" and anti-covid precautions seemed sound. Loved it, and we'll be back.
BEST roast in Bucks! We are never disappointed and already excited for our next visit.
Pub is lovely, and the servers could not have been nicer. However, the food was truly awful.
The dinner menu is very limited (choice of 6 mains, of which only 1 is fish and only 1 vegetarian, because apparently the ‘chef is all about meat’. Great that the chef gets to cook what he or she likes, but how about what the customers might like?)
I had the ribeye steak, and my mother had the stone bass. The crushed new potatoes and chicory were very nice, but it was, without doubt, the worst steak I have ever had. I asked for it to be cooked medium; what arrived was so rare that a good vet could have brought it back to life. And it tasted incredibly burnt and bitter, because clearly it had been flashed on far too hot a grill. My mother’s fish was alright, but it came only with ‘grains’, which mixed with the sauce to become a stodgy and rather tasteless slurry at the bottom of the plate. There were no vegetables at all with the fish, so the dish was rather beige and bland, overall.
We told the manager halfway through that we weren’t especially happy with the meal. He offered to take my steak back to be further cooked (no thanks, not when it’s already been sliced), and other than that his only response was ‘ok, well… er, enjoy it ladies!’ And when we told the waitress again at the end of the meal that we weren’t happy, she went to speak to the manager and returned to say he was ‘busy with other guests.’ Ok then…
For the high cost of the meal, it was a massive disappointment. We won’t be eating there again.
Excellent meal. Everything was delicious and faultless. Highly recommend.
Great food, imaginative presentation, excellent service.
Excellent service and food and wine - perfect hospitality
This is food of exceptional quality. The lamb main was a rhapsody of flavours. Delicious tender meat, beautifully cooked. The salted caramel tart literally melted in the mouth. Food to be savoured.
Excellent Sunday lunch in the teepee! Lovely family atmosphere. Attentive but not overbearing staff. Most importantly, the food, particularly the roast beef, was superb.
Nice mussels starter but roast was very poor - had sirloin of beef - very sinewy and tough despite being served medium rare. Relatively small portions of veg. All four of us had the roast beef and all experiences the same. Considering it’s £22.95 for the roast beef I would say it was very poor value. Won’t be returning.
