   Wow! What a beautiful restaurant and amazing food. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere is so cozy and quaint. This hidden gem is amazing! Will definitely be back soon.

   Nice setting. Earnest service, but still working out the kinks. Limited but very good menu. Deserts are terrific Food very well prepared . Price point moderate. Would definitely return and would recommend others give it a go.

   For the past several years we have relished breakfast and lunch servings at Naef’s, a secluded café nestled remotely in the Emiliano Zapata village in Punta de Mita. It was with mixed feelings that we learned of its transformation into dinner only mode. Our regrets have been left at the door. From greeting to departure, every element of the new restaurant experience is polished and professional. The exterior garden patio dining area is exquisite . Tables, some of prominent slabs of grained parota wood, are placed at generous distances from one another, the recorded music at just the right ambient level- conversation friendly. Subtle lighting illuminates the space perfectly, highlighting this magical setting. Now to the meals: We have visited the restaurant on four occasions this season. The servers have been gracious and engaging. All plates from the kitchen, synchronized with offerings from the pizza oven, have arrived at the table at the same time. We have found the preparation and presentation to be of the highest standard. Everything is locally sourced, vegetarian and vegan options plentiful. Some of our luscious favorites from a selection of unique appetizers and entrees are the pear gorgonzola salad, baked gnocchis, cheese and spinach souffle, goat cheese pizza, mahi mahi lentils and chicken mole- each worthy of our highest recommendation. Congratulations to Naef’s -easily our top selection in the Punta de Mita universe.

   NAEF, which has been our favourite restaurant for breakfast and lunch over the past 3 years is now our favourite for an outstanding dinner!! The restaurant is even more magical at night. They have done a fantastic job in creating a delicious menu with options for every diner. We started with 4 delicious tapas style tasting choices just to experience all the flavours they offer. The falafel was so delicate and the salt cured fish with tzatziki, fennel and pineapple were exceptionally good. We then ordered a goat cheese pizza which was so light and airy with an amazing sourdough crust that is baked in the beautiful new brick pizza oven which sits in the garden where you are enjoying your meal. For dinner each of us choose one of the two fish options. The first which was wrapped in a hoja santa leaf and was so moist and flavourful the other was placed on top of a delicious curry lentils. We decided we had to taste at least one dessert which finished our meal off just perfectly with the chocolate delight. They have done a wonderful job transitioning from a daytime cafe that we loved to a fantastic nighttime dinner bistro like atmosphere . The attention to detail in the lighting, music, pottery dishes, beautifully glassware and linens are so brilliantly done to create this magical outdoor garden that glows at night. The support of the wonderful, hard working caring staff that were there when it was the cafe are still there and they make the night memorable in every way. Thank you for your delicious food and wonderful welcoming ambiance. We will be back over and over again!!
