The food was outstanding. The tastes were authentic and reminded me of home. Not the usual butter chicken and naan crap you get at most Indian restaurants. Every dish was well done. The service was fine. Given how new the restaurant is they definitely are still learning but for the price point they should have hired more experienced servers. Our food came out too quickly and not enough spacing between dishes. It felt too rushed - upon sitting down we were told forcibly that we had to be done in 90 mins and the service reflected that rush. It was surprising that the waiter tried to wave us off the signature speciality dish (the $115 crab). Odd that it’s considered the main special and we are not encouraged to get it. I would 100% go back and try more things but hopefully the service reflects the value. They should also turn down the music just a notch.

Ultimately unimpressed. The dosa and chicken kebab appetizers were very good, as was the goat entree. However, the dal makhani was just ok, and the vegetable curry was disappointing - it had nothing to distinguish itself from a Thai joint curry for half the price, just completely bland. For the price, Thattu and Basant blow this place out of the water.

I tried very hard to get the reservation! When we left it was close to 7 pm and was half maybe less than half occupancy They could have had a reservation later for me.

Overall, an excellent dining experience at this new restaurant. I’m a fan of Chef Sarkar and I love seeing what he keeps coming up with in Chicago. We greatly need more places like this one that highlight regional Indian cuisine and don’t just stick to the same standard fare that you get everywhere else. While I didn’t enjoy the Galawat, everything else we had was quite tasty and worth the trip! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in something different than the standard Tikka Masala that you’re used to ordering. High praise and I look forward to seeing what the next iteration of their menu is in the coming months!

Others have said this but truly the food tastes better than 90% of what I've had in India. It's beautifully crafted and presented, just a spectacular addition to Chicago's food scene.

We have enjoyed Indienne, a sister restaurant to NADU several times so wanted to try NADU . The same great sauces accompany most dishes and are the highlight. I don't know who is in the kitchen composing these complex, aromatic and spicy sauces but thank you. We enjoyed the dumplings, the mushroom kebab was a light and airy morsel and the butter chicken with a side of garlic naan, thoughtfully cut into pieces, was so delicious. Service was 100% with constant water refills and the wait staff describing each dish as it arrived at the table . Only down side is the noise level when the room was full as I couldn't hear my dining partner just across the table

The ambiance was absolutely beautiful… elegant, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed to create a memorable dining experience. The food was scrumptious, with each dish bursting with flavor and prepared to perfection. What truly set the evening apart, however, was the outstanding service; the staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely hospitable. Every detail was handled with care, making us feel valued and well taken care of. I will definitely be returning for more, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience.

Awful Greasy food with Excess Use of Various Spices where you cannot distinguish the food being eaten. All 4 in our group independent to each other found the food awful and stated this to be first and last visit. I can’t remember one main dish to be memorably good or even mediocre. Worse how can you run out of liquor or not carry mainstream vodka. They ran out of vodka in prior days but never replaced. They had no mixers like cranberry juice to make cosmos. The wine selection by glass poor and white wine served warm. Meanwhile Tea was cool when it should be hot. Very Disappointed. Don’t understand why the wait to get reservations. Nadu is a solid “Na”

We were excited to try Nadu and it lived up to the hype. The Haldi, Aam, and Khubani cocktails tasted great and complemented the food nicely. The Til was also good but the sesame took over a bit after some time. The paneer sharing plate with buttered pao was elevated craveworthy comfort food. The prawns share plate had nice heat. The walleye curry was very tasty, as was the murgh makhani (touch heavy on the cardamom for me but it’s not my fave spice, others with me didn’t find that). The naan was deliciously light and fluffy and the paratha had a nice crisp. The tutti frutti dessert wasn’t what any of us expected but was enjoyable. The space is open and warm. We were upstairs and l enjoyed looking at all the plates for the diners below. Our server was lovely and his recommendations were in point.
