Nacho Daddy- Duluth
everything was kind of average except the margaritas and the service, they were both superb. Food wasn't anything special, steak nachos had. wry little steak in them, chips are thin and break into everything you try and dip them in. Like i said service was very good, Tommy was very nice and personable, don't remember our waitress' name but she was good too. don't think i'd go back
Overall we had a good dining experience. Our waitress Aya did an outstanding job serving us and was very kind. The only drawback we did experience was with our reservation. We booked outdoor/rooftop seating in advance but once we arrived were told that there was not any outdoor seating available.
Food was awesome! Great variety of choices for Sunday brunch !
It was a fun birthday party
We have tried 2 times and it has not been worth it. The prices are too high on the food and drinks.
Went for brunch, food was great bottomless mimosas were awesome and our server did a great job with keeping it with mimosas (different flavors) for our party of 5. The roof top bar is gorgeous and recommended. & it was right down the road from $10 tubing so it was an AMAZING experience & I'll definitely be back!
The margaritas were delicious, but I did not enjoy my meal. The lobster tacos were more breading than anything else and the ceviche was bland. The food was plentiful and reasonably priced, so I would definitely give it another try.
This was a nice little chill spot in Duluth we went around 6 and sat on the patio
The food was great, the margaritas were excellent, the atmosphere was amazing, and the servers were all very friendly. We will definitely be returning.
They called me earlier to confirm my reservation. So we had high hopes. It is located in downtown Duluth with beautiful small town views. We sat on the rooftop because inside was too loud. Everyone was friendly and attentive. We ordered Daddy’s Margaritas and chicken nachos. My date felt that the margarita was weak so he complained and they fixed it. The nachos were somehow soggy. The chicken was dry. I gave it 4 stars because the service was great.
We enjoyed the food and the ambience. It’s very much a bar like atmosphere but that’s what we expected. There is a nice upstairs outdoor area but it was too hot on Saturday to enjoy that space. The server was very friendly and attentive enough to satisfy our needs. We shared a plate of Philly Cheesesteak Nachos and an appetizer of Mexican Street Corn off the cob. Both were delicious. We each had a blood orange margarita. They were delicious and potent. We would definitely come back again the next time we are in the area.
This was second time dining here with friends and family, the staff was courteous throughout. Drinks are great. The food options and presentation were great but everything tasted bland, not enough seasonings. This was shared by mostly everyone in party each visit. If this can be addressed then this place would be even better.
This was our 3rd trip and the quality of the food has continued to deteriorate. Was not to happy to be asked to pay extra for salsa when 99% of Mexican restaurants serve it complimentary with chips. Also, the big draw to this place is the rooftop but for no reason given, it was not open.
On the positive side the margaritas were excellent and loaded with flavor and a kick!
Not going back for awhile except maybe for drinks and chips. Food was that bad including my beef burrito as the quality of the ground beef was comparable to a Taco Bell.
First time at Nacho Daddy. It will not be my last! The food, service, and Margaritas were great!
Good drinks, with friendly atmosphere. Recommend adding more pictures to your menus with detailed descriptions. Host hd table ready. Bartender was timely. Kitchen was quick to tweak our order. I’m coming back!
Food is basic it all depends on what u order. Oversized Nachos.
Everything was great but server clearly upcharged us. We specifically asked if the nachos on skillets was too much for one person to eat alone. She said absolutely not. We ordered 3 of them for 2 adults and one child. Even the adults came no where close to finishing. In fact one skillet would have been enough for the 3 of us. I was greatly disappointed by this clearly inaccurate advice and chalked it down to her wanting to drive the bill higher. For that reason alone I will not go back and will not advice anyone else to go.
My husband and I absolutely loved Nacho Daddy! The service was incredible and the nachos were amazing!
It was hot in there. Flys where all over the place. Food was not worth cost. Outside customers should come in to order and not have the big window open
Service slow, too many people(that weren't serving food) in the kitchen PLAYING around the food i.e. arm wrestling, putting on sunglasses and modeling, server touching someone's head with the gloves on he was using to bring food out. Ratio chips to meat was OFF. It was hot in the restaurant.
We've tried lots of Tex-Mex and Nacho Daddy is pretty good, but not go-out-of-our-way good. Prices are a bit higher than most Tex-Mex.
I've recommended a few friends based on my 1st experience, but the second wasnt so great. 1 hour wait for food, food was cold when arrived at table, kitchen even screwed up the refire order. Flavor profiles for entrees my teenaged kids ordered (filet mignon tacos & chicken fajitas) were not great at all. We also ordered lobster tacos and the lobster was over cooked to the point beyond being cutable or chewable. I'm not so sure about giving them a third try considering my last experience.
I was very disappointed. The food was subpar and our server, Ashley, was horrendous. Very inattentive and slow. We barely saw her most of the night.
I will not return
Honestly, would probably not go back. The noise level was very high and consequently people were yelling to be heard. Food was just okay.
Our group of 7 enjoyed our lunch very much! The street tacos and chimichangas were a big hit. We will be back!
Great food! A little pricey for what it is. Margaritas were expensive and not very strong. Great and fast service.
We arrived early for our 8PM reservation, and were seated early.
Our server was very quick to the table, she was detailed with taking the orders, and made sure the food (both orders special) was correct. Drinks were on the table within 5 minutes of being seated.
The food took some time, but our total time, from being sat at the table to sitting in the car, was under 75 minutes.
Food came quick and the portions were solid. Is it a ton of food for $20/person? No. Is the quality excellent? Yes. That will depend on how you value your food. Personally, my wife and I were happy, but it'll be a special occasion restaurant due to the price.
Watching people take Scorpion Shots is fun. There's camaraderie without having to actually go talk to strangers. The best kind.
The food was excellent, the chips were light and crispy without being fragile, the steak was excellently prepared, and even the refried beans were well made.
The music was a reasonable volume (based on other reviews, I assume they have turned their music down some, as the lyrics to the videos playing on the TVs around the place were barely audible).
For a cool, relaxed, sit-down-and-eat-in restaurant in the $50 for 2 entrees and a dessert range, I would certainly recommend it. We'll certainly be back.
This was our second attempt at Nacho Daddy. The first was a couple of weeks ago. Sat at the bar because the wait for a table on a week night was 2 hours . Bartender was nice, margaritas were just ok. Tried the fajita nachos and lobster enchiladas. Both were good, but not great. Decided to make reservations for tonight to give it another try. Arrived to a very pleasant waitress. Got seated right on time which was great since other people were being quoted an hour wait time. Promptly ordered two margaritas. 15 minutes went by, no drinks. Waitress said "we only have one bartender and she is a bit backed up. Let me take your order and I'll go check in your drinks.” We ordered one plate of Filet Mignon nachos to share. 30 minutes into our meal, no margaritas and no server. 45 minutes the manager brings the margaritas and says, "sorry these took a while", dropped them and left. 60 minutes and we still have no food. Ask the server, because now we are on a time crunch and her irritated with us for asking response was "see those red squares on the order screen, that means she's really backed up. Do you want it to go?" NO, I don't want to wait an hour to eat and then take it to go. Nachos arrive 5 minutes later and are nothing but a pile of chips, smothered in refried beans and pico with a few chunks of meat. No plates, no napkins, no silverware. Finally got all of the above and scarfed down our completely underwhelming nachos. Was then promptly presented with a $48 bill and told "have a good rest of your evening."
I rarely take the time out of my day to write a review unless it is positive. Tonight however was worthy of my time. Spare yourself!!
My husband and a couple of friends and I went back to Nacho Daddy on a Saturday night. The service was extremely poor. Despite having reservations, we were asked to move tables after ordering drinks because the waitress "messed up". It took 2 hours to receive our food. Our waitress never checked on us. They brought the wrong margaritas. They were "out" of queso. Nacho Daddy has a lot of kinks to work out. I hate to leave a negative review as I am a big supporter of Downtown Duluth and especially the local restaurant scene but I will have to say, I don't recommend Nacho Daddy right now. I hope they read reviews and improve ASAP.
ND is going through opening pains. We’ve been there twice this week. The first time, our service was slow but decent. Today, it was terrible. 3 servers were trying to fill in for one server and they tried but 30 mins between drinks and 70 minutes after order food is too much for me. SO MANY LOCALS are forgiving but today was just too much. Piles of glasses on the bar.
I was a server for years. There were several servers today and not that many tables. At one point there were 5 tables open and servers were still running around crazy. I’ll give it some time and try again, but not a great week. Not one manager showed their face to the tables either time.
Awesomeness you need to go! Charlotte was awesome bartender!!
We visited opening week for dinner. We expected them to still be working out the kinks. There were six of us in our group. Four of our meals came out at the same time. We got the fifth shortly thereafter but had to wait a bit for the sixth. Ironically, it was a salad. Again, no issue with that since it was their first week. We started with Fiesta nachos for the table and they were delicious! The next best item was the tacos (pork and fish). The other dishes were ok. The fajitas were much spicier than other restaurants. We likely won’t be back until the patio is open for two reasons 1) the bar was too loud and 2) the drinks were pricier than their competition. Will look forward to trying their happy hour.
Great Food Great Location
Love the experience! Food and drinks are great. It is a bit too loud.
Nice place for expensive tacos, nachos and queso dip. Had to try vegan cheese dip since I am dairy intolerant It was good and waitstaff from Las Vegas was very knowledgeable and helped me make the right choice for nachos for what I wanted for toppings. But would not take my starving 15 yr old boy and expect him to be full for our budget.
Vegan food NO NO NO
Quality Bad food taste like leftovers
Quantity Bad compare to counterpart menus
Service Bad have to wait longer time for food
We went on opening night; we had a reservation and sat quickly. While we understand the staff is new, our personal service was not good--we waited 20 minutes before she came to take drink orders; another 20 minutes before she came back to take our order and our food took a full hour to come to our table. A couple of people in my party did not think the food was good. I thought my food (fried avocado street tacos) was okay. But the prices were too high. So even after they get their service together and the kitchen gets quicker and more accurate, I would not recommend Nacho Daddy to a friend because the cost is high, it was VERY loud and the food is just okay.
If you’re vegan/vegetarian or eating with someone who is, this is a must try!! The only Tex-mex place with such amazing vegan options! Their menu is very inclusive for all diets, and their drinks were great too.
First off: we loved the food and atmosphere! The portions were huge and the pricing was very reasonable. We had several types of nachos, fish tacos and enchiladas. All amazing!
As for the service...It was opening night so we were ok with service being a little off. I made my reservation for 4 people for 6:30. We arrived at 6:25. The hostess told us that since another party of 4 had made a reservation at 6:30 and had arrived before us, they were sat first and we would have to wait 10-15 minutes. This made absolutely no sense to any of our party. If you reserve a table, it should be available. Our waitress was great until she gave us our check and then she seems to forget about us. We know these things will hopefully improve with time and some training. We will be back and will try to make a reservation again next time. Great addition to Duluth!
Everything is great about this place and kids eat free on Mondays!
