They don’t mention anywhere that the rooftop doesn’t have a liquor license. Despite the nice view, it’s not a great place to go.
We arrived for our reservation on time. We had been asked to reconfirm , which we did. The restaurant was empty and seemed closed. The was one man in duty who could not really answer any questions.
He told us , we could stay and eat it need be. But there would be no alcohol or drinks. They were renovating.
Strange place and even more so strange people. We realized we were the one only ones in the entire place.
We left as fast as we could and never looked back!!
Never again !
We had a family dinner. The food was okay and the view was ok. You could see the freedom tower from the bar. The restaurant really did not have much of a view. The bathrooms were dirty and disgusting. The service was ok. The cups were plastic. It was just okay.
My friend visited from overseas and was craving for Greek food. This restaurant happens to be close to my work place. The food was too expensive yet the food was terrible. It wasn’t seasoned enough and it didn’t taste Greek at all. No wonder we are the only customers that night.
Octopus app is great and I’m a fan of the Greek salad it’s always solid food reasonable price and I like the rooftop
Theree was no one dining when we arrived because they have not acquired a liquor license. Very awkward. Nice view is the highlight.
It was really dreadful we were looking forward to it
no alcohol no liquor license went all the way there and nothing - closed! It could have said something when we booked new owners under new management very poor communication
Upon arrival we were informed that the restaurant temporarily had no liquor license. Despite the fact that they had my phone number, and I had called to confirm the rooftop reservation, no one had bothered to mention that fact before our arrival. On the rooftop, tables were not set for dinner guests. Water was served in soft plastic cups! Not all roof lights were working, so it was difficult to see food or companions once the sun set! There were only two tables filled because others left when informed about the lack of liquor license. However, it was still difficult to hear each other due to the noise of the rooftop air conditioner! Although the food was quite good, the service and situation were so unacceptable that we will not return. The manager was unapologetic and seemed not to care at all.
The staff isn’t particularly friendly. My seat was soaking wet and when I alerted the waiter, he wiped down the seat, but didn’t apologize despite the fact that I had already sat down and had gotten wet.
Additionally, they currently do not have a liquor license. The host should have told us this before we were seated, but did not. It wasn’t until we asked for a drink menu that they bothered to tell us.
It was a disappointing evening with bad service, so I don’t plan on returning anytime soon.
Incredible dinner at Mykonos Blue Rooftop! We celebrated my sisters bachelorette party and were very well taken care of!
The photos of the restaurant are misleading, there are no dining tables on a rooftop. This is a very small and expensive restaurant in a hotel lobby. No one knew of the reservation I made and I was met with a very unwelcoming staff. Food was mediocre and over priced, the wait staff rushed us the entire time and were not friendly. When you charge $10 for a bottle of sparkling water you might want to let a party know before they are charged $60 for WATER. Extremely disappointing. I have no idea how this place has good reviews
Had a wonderful experience hosting my boyfriend’s 30th birthday. The staff was very accommodating and the food was delicious. I would definitely return!
Too noisy. It was warm and they refused to turn on the fan. Was kind a uncomfortable. Not my favorite
What makes Mykonos a winner is the absolutely stunning view of midtown Manhattan. The Word Trade Center is framed by two buildings, and there's a great view of the Met Life clock tower. Better still is that it was not packed when we arrived at 7:30! Maybe it was the heat, or maybe it's just not discovered - which would be odd for such a sweet location. The Greek food was excellent, and the portions reasonable. The prices would seem high if it weren't for the location and the view, which make Mykonos a midtown gem.
The restaurant upon entry smelled
Of chlorine not the main issue. Having to ask for water on a squelched day which eventually became blackout day and not receiving it till after asking several times and once served it was a small plastic cup...think Dixie cup was bizarre. Good was delivered incomplete without sides and one entree while second person had to wait for three other tables to be served before anyone cared to check or answer the request for assistance at which point even longer wait for their entree. The wait resulted in the ultra dry fettuccini Alfredo being blah and again good luck flagging down wait staff that was more interested in taking selfies in the bar area
Service was friendly but the food was just OK. Apps were better than main courses. We went specially to be on a rooftop; however, the roofing made it impossible to see the sky so yes you were outside but felt like you were indoors.... just a terribly hot indoor space.
We had a business happy hour and it went very well. Everyone had a great time. Service was very attentive and friendly even with such a large group as us. The cocktails and food were good. It was a good place for our large, mostly young crowd especially after work.
There was a private event the same night as my reservation, and I was not informed of this. We arrived, and then had to leave the venue due to this event. We ended up at a different rooftop, but this was overall a pretty negative experience.
Overall, a good experience. They messed up our food order, but it was fine. The Manager was apologetic and made sure that we had everything that we needed. Fun place to go with friends for drinks.
Made a reservation on Open Table and showed up at the restaurant only to be told there was a private event happening and they wouldn’t honor the reservation. Nobody seemed to care at all. Very disappointing. Poor service.
When making reservation for rooftop call ahead - twice I made reservations only to be told it was closed for s private party. Food is good as we were seated in the ground floor restaurant - but not going back
We were ignored - so we left. Yelp reviews called it
Pretty spot however.
Despite a rocky start to our dining experience, Mykonos Blue is actually pretty fantastic! We arrived for our reservation and were seated, but then no one came to our table for a half hour. We spoke with the manager and it was simply a staff miscommunication. The manager quickly rectified the situation, apologized profusely and even gave us some perks. Our waiter was very nice, the drinks were great, and the food even better! Make sure to leave room for some dessert!! Thank you Mykonos for a wonderful evening!!
We made reservations with open table for the rooftop restaurant when we arrived we were told that a private party was on the rooftop and we could sit downstairs at the bar restaurant I feel if you dont have the rooftop available then you should call and tell us that there are several rooftops restaurants we could have gone to. We went there for 2 reasons the view which we didn't get and the octopus which they were out of so we left.
Any Greek Specialty they do extraordinarily well and have friendly service. Greek salad outstanding as is grilled calamari. I’m here often for lunch. Quick Service. Grilled Fish is fabulous. Highly Recommend I’ve eaten here 15 times in the last year
Food was authentic Greek
I was so disappointed because I made a reservation for the rooftop!!!!! When we got there to celebrate my birthday as we came in from Long Island the restaurant Mykonos Blue said the rooftop was a private party!!!!!!! I looked for a rooftop restaurant or bar and decided to go with Mykonos Blue ROOFTOP!!!!!!!! Didn’t get the rooftop!!!!!!!’ It was the lobby level!!!!! The picture on open table shows a totally different appearance of the restaurant!!!!! We had just come from seeing a show and was so looki g forward to the rooftop!!!!!!! The food was good but I won’t go again as I was disappointed that it wasn’t the restaurant I made my reservation at....... make sure if you want Rooftop you get it!!!
We booked a table for 5 on the rooftop, but when we reached there we were told that we booked a table at the restaurant and that they cannot give us a table on the rooftop because of a private party. Eventually they worked it out but there should be a way for them to block reservations on the rooftop of it is booked for a private event.
We arrived to be told they had a private party and our reservation was canceled. The failure to inform people holding reservations where they have access to both email and telephone is inexcusable. I have now read other reviews that indicate this is standard operating procedure for this place. They do not deserve to be patronized.
Horrible experience. I booked a table at the rooftop for my husband birthday party. Also, I called them to confirm the table before the event. When we arrived, they said that they had a private party at the rooftop so that they didn’t have a table. They offered us a table downstairs. They didn’t even bother to let us know. So, I had to move my party to another place at the last minute. The manager was rude and not helpful at all! They ruined our birthday party last minute!
Atmosphere was horrible, no good music at all. Food was small and not even good. Overall experience was horrible. Didn’t even feel like a rooftop and didn’t have good music at all.
Rooftop needs more light. Way too dark.
This was one of the most unfortunate experiences I’ve ever had - food, ambiance and service.
Service was very very slow, the rooftop was disorganized and not very clean, food was cold and took forever to come out. I have a severe allergy and was served food with nuts on it after asking before ordering and also stating my allergy. Not worth it at all, just a horrible experience.
We arrived on time for our reservation and they seated us 5 min after running around trying to find a table when the place was empty. We were then sat outside where the table cloths were filthy (food stains, left over food from previous table, drink stains). No one cleaned it up for us. We were not given menus or even seen by anyone. We were then asked to move to another table because they have a bigger party to tend to so we had to move. Once we were moved, it took us 10 minutes to even get a menu. We were then asked to move AGAIN because they had another big group to tend to. We ended up not having to move but it was annoying trying to even enjoy being with friends. Drinks were great, food was good. A little expensive for what we ordered but at that point we had already committed. General consensus: will not be returning.
Service felt slow - very “out of site out of mind”.
The rooftop was a bit “scaled down” for aesthetic considering the cost of food and drinks. There was a terrible wet dog smell the entire time which really took away from the dining experience.
Decent food and nice atmosphere but definitely overpriced.
Ordered a glass of prosecco to start. Asked for another when the food arrived and was informed that there was no more prosecco but had something similar for $2.00 more a glass.
WTF? Really?? Just give me that for the same price....really petty.
Doubt I will be going back
I did the event for my bday and it was very nice and special. They accommodate to our needs. The service was nice and professional. The host was very gracious and the waiter knew the food on the menu. The food was very good and taste to the tasty bud. I would recommend the place to eat and treated real well.
Great service, we were a little early and they accommodated us without a problem. The waiter was very attentive and the food was delicious.
