Great food, very helpful staff, and a mellow atmosphere contribute to a delightful dining experience that's sure to be the first of many
Don’t go there
The noodles, dumplings, innovative cocktails are wonderful! Thoughts of them make me want to rush back! I enjoy the leisure to visit with friends and family, never feeling I have to rush through my meal. I love what I order but someday I must go back and try some different dishes! It is an easy restaurant to reach via BART, Powell Street station.
Food always perfect. Ambience a cut above..Classy place. Very noisy gardto have a conversation..next time I’ll sit out on the “patio” whichis inside the mall, outside of the main restaurant...seems to be quieter
Wonderful food - always! Great location and lovely ambiance - and we even saw Chef Martin Yan last Saturday.
Martin Yan was so hospitable! Everything was amazing!!!
Took out of town friends here for lunch. The Peking Duck is the best here and a must order! Ordered dumplings, pork belly sliders, beef rolls. Everything was excellent! Save room for dessert. I’ve tried all but my favorites are lychee pana catta, matcha tirimisu, egg donuts.
It was our first time here. We were celebrating Valentine’s Day. We really like atmosphere, our server was great, and the food was delicious. We can’t wait to come here again!
Good bar and... make sure you save enough room for dessert puffs
This time, the food wasn't as good. Only the pork and crab dumplings were stellar, and the rest was only pretty good. The bar staff was somewhat preoccupied and had to be reminded what we ordered. The prices are a little high, but the décor and ambience seem to justify the prices.
The perfect place to celebrate Chinese New Year! Our server was excellent and low-key, like in an old-fashioned, French restaurant. He was knowledgeable about the food (which was excellent - the noodles were so well made that they were melt-in-the-mouth creamy) and beverages. Gave been here many times and will return many times!
We took advantage of restaurant week and enjoyed a wonderful 3 course lunch. The food was fantastic at a very reasonable price. We can't wait to return to try another several menu items.
Serveur was Cynthia. I had the SFRW lunch (seafood dumplings beef filet & puff ice cream.) The dumplings & beef were delicious. I ordered Yang Zhou to go! My favorite part of the lunch was my lai see!
Took a gal pal to lunch to celebrate her birthday. She doesn't eat pork but there were enough options. Would return.
Have to say we were a bit disappointed with our lunch at MYChina, in a variety of ways. We have wanted to try since they opened, and felt that Restaurant week menu looked like a good option. Unfortunately the chef decided that it was to complicated to do that menu AND the Chinese New Years special menu (at $120 per person) so guess which one was dropped.
Food is just 'ok' - nothing to special. Won Ton soup was pretty bland, and this is the first restaurant that did not serve our first bowls to us, but left it on the table for us to ladle up.
Some of the dim sum dumplings were tasty, but generally not a lot of flavors in most of the dishes.
We were also disappointed in the state of the uni-sex bathrooms: dirty, no TP in one stall.
And the banquet seating area is sorely in need of re-upholstery.
We will not return+
The experience was excellent, as it has been every other visit.
Food was excellent but service on 1/25/2020 was disappointing. No one cleared dishes (we opted for the multi course banquet so serving dishes should have been cleared between courses, plus there was no room on the table to lay new courses as they arrived). Some courses came out with no serving spoons. The restrooms needed to be cleaned (paper and liquid on the floor of the stall).
Excellent, delicious food! Executive Chef Tony Wu is always happily busy cooking delicious entrees, showing the diners professional awesome noodle demonstrations, smiling and cooking delicious food, and while teaching his eagerly-listening professional efficient hard-working staff.
Executive Chef Tony’s food entree presentations are excellent! Our service was professional, polite and efficient! We were fortunate to order the delicious Chinese New Year entrees that our server recommended which included a delicious entire whole-cracked-Crab, dim sum variety, noodles, vegetables with glazed walnuts, noodle salad with cucumber and mango dessert! It was a delicious feast!
Thank you Martin Yan, Executive Chef Tony Wu and all the professional, efficient workers.
Excellent food, superior service. Hot and sour soup among the three best we've had in the world.
Occasion was for SF Restaurant week. Food was good and service was great. Would recommend to friends for any occasion.
Amazing dumplings and noodles made on site. Despite gourmet level ingredients, preparation, and presentation, still very reasonably priced (although has some high end items too.) Don’t miss the creative cocktails.
Nice asian cuisine!
Love this place for creative Asian fine dining! Great dim sum and entree offerings. Being under the dome gives it all its ambiance.
Delicious food, friendly and courteous staff who were helpful in gauging how much food to order. Wish there were more traditional dim sum foods on menu
I went to M.Y. China with a friend who is Chinese, and were were both amazed at how authentic and delicious the dishes were that we ordered. Presentation was beautiful. We ordered a dumpling sampler that had amazing shrimp dumplings among others that was outstanding and a cast iron pot of the eggplant and tofu. We went for lunch. The restaurant was full and it was lively but you could hear conversations. We agreed this will definitely be among our favorite SFO restaurants for future visits. Highly recommended.
Overall a very nice experience. It is located in a large shopping center, with people passing right by the tables, but for me that is not a sticking point. I did, however, hear people at the next table mention it in a negative way. The service was friendly, accommodating, and quite efficient. The food - I have yet to eat anything here that wasn‘t super tasty. I do wish the tables were a little larger to better hold all the small and large dishes with ease. This was our first time tasting the BangBang chicken wings. It won‘t be the last time!
I used to love M.Y. China. Convenient, simply elegant and energetic restaurant amazing food with always some surprising flavor touches. Well, I'm SORRY, but the bar is being run by a thug with such attitude he might as well have kept his finger up his nose the whole time yet we couldn't complain about the drinks. We ordered an assortment of potstickers, Sichuan Green Beans (of course!), the Jasmine Tea Sea Bass, a Chili Pepper Crab, and a side of tofu unapproachable without using implements and one's hands -- and we were Dressed. The wait staff seemed frenetic; stressed when bussing tables all around us. Only the maitre'd and hosts seemed to be joyous. We did enjoy ourselves; most of the food and the scene was enjoyable, and so were the drinks.
It’s a mall resting. Good is not authentic or good
We enjoyed excellent food at M.Y. China at reasonable prices. We had a reservation and were immediately seated. The restaurant felt a little crowded and the noise level was moderate. I would definitely recommend M.Y. China to friends and family members.
I love M. Y. China please don’t change anything

Great at accommodation but food was lukewarm warm, waitress took quiet a long time for her to comeback to bring water or refills, and our dishes can put one by one instead of all together to enjoy a family style meal. Then celebrating a birthday which waitress forgot.. it would of been a nice touch to add slice of orange or fortune cookie at the end.. Great Ambiance and decor.
The food was great. We had the crab special and the spicy seafood spinach dumplings - would recommend!
Always a wonderful experience. Such a treat to go there! Highly recommend!
You really can not go wrong eating at M.Y. China. We didn’t even have any shopping nor any Holiday returns to do at the shopping center. M.Y. China was the one spot we could all agree on. Never has disappointed and we walked away perfectly satisfied.
Food was excellent and came out fast. It was very difficult to get refills on drinks. Our waiter never checked on us once the food came. We flagged down a random person to get refills. Tables were a little close together which made date night a little more difficult.
Was great - good food, good table, decent service
Excellent easy to get to location and they knew who I was when I checked in and led me to my table for lunch right away which was nice. Unique dishes and enjoyed all of them. A pricey restaurant, but worth it. Good quality ingredients, open kitchen to see how they make everything. I am impressed
Our server was fantastic and really made the experience great. It was just a casual after work dinner with my boyfriend but he was so attentive it felt like a special date night.
M y China one of the best restaurants in San Francisco.
My daughter and I planned to grab a nice quick dinner in the early evening of the Monday before watching the holiday lights on Market Streets and Union Sq. A transplant from Shanghai, I am pretty jaded with all the Chinese food here. Nevertheless, I found M.Y.China is refreshing and inventive. The pork belly slider is divine! the squid ink noodle with seafood is delicious and unconventional. this meal put me in a cheerful mood. Highly recommended!
