Fine mexican food in a trendy but noisy environment.
Great experience and prompt service, which was nice because we were headed to a show at the Warner. My only complaint is that the noise level was out of control. We were quite literally shouting at each other. Please do something about the acoustics.
The taco choices were great. A wonderful place.
Very good service I should say excellent. My water was filled up like 6 times. He was like eye balling us the whole time. The food was excellent as well. We got seated right away. I would come here any time I am in dC prices good also
This restaurant is the best place for food and has the best customer service. I am so impressed that I would recommend this place to anybody.
The food is very delicious and everybody had a great time.
Great food and drinks!
MXDC before a matinee at the National was a good choice! Ceviche was tasty, if a little different than expected, and the margaritas were delicious, but small.
Visiting family and friends while in town. Our friends recommended MXDC. We were not disappointed. Cocktail, wine, and beer choices were excellent and the food is outstanding! Lots of big groups, so it was noisy, but hey, if you have a table for two it will be so very romantic!
Friendly service. Creative dishes, delightful flavors with Mexican origins. Watermelon gazpacho...fantastic.
Delicious food and good service. Staff was friendly and very nice. Will come back!!
Glad we made reservations as it was very busy. We enjoyed the margarita specials. The passion fruit was amazing. Would come back!!!
We went for Cinco de Mayo so the crowd may have affected service and sound level. Overall the tacos and guacamole were excellent. Margheritas were on the small side. We would return.
Chips tasted stale and both guacamole and entrees were a little bland. The waiter never checked on us or inquired how the meal was — only asked if we wanted another drink. We were ready to celebrate but the food & service were disappointing.
Didn’t like the service at all.
Great cocktails and delicious food. The staff was very attentive and nice. Would recommend!!
Cocktails were great. Service was inattentive at best. Loud. It was too warm in the dining area and worse in the restrooms. Food quality ok, but in all, it was a meh experience.
Food was good, service all over the place. We were not even halfway through our apps when our mains were delivered, awkward. Server seemed indifferent and uninterested.
Very good food. A bit loud to have a conversation with friends at a small table.
The food was delicious and inventive. However, the noise level made conversation difficult.
The food was great, our server was very nice, and the ambiance was good. Thanks for the great time!
Very good food, reasonably priced and excellent service. However, it’s really loud at lunchtime and difficult to have a conversation.
Beautiful restaurant with great decor. The dimming lights make for a more private and upscale atmosphere. When we first were seated, the place was nice and quiet but they got completely full within the hour. Then it did get very loud quickly. However we enjoyed the vibrant scene. The food was great especially the enchiladas and salmon. We also got the guacamole and tacos to start. They have a nice selection of margaritas and my bf loved the old traveler cocktail. Great service, will definitely keep coming back!!
I love the food here, the service is great, and sangria saturday is the best!!!! Would (and will) 10000% recommend
The food at the restaurant was good, but I was disappointed at the limited selection of options for vegetarians. Despite the good food and the good location in DC, I won't return to the restaurant because the noise level was so high that I had difficulty hearing my dining companions, which greatly impacted my experience.
Not a great first impression. Probably won’t be back.
Food was wonderful, space was gorgeous, staff was excellent. Cocktails were unique and delicious, we only had one, so will definitely be back for more of this dining experience. Thanks, MXDC!
Very expensive for what you get. Service also tends to be slow.
Delicious food and fantastic service!! We tried their brunch menu and it didn't disappoint. We also tried the bottomless mimosas which were very yummy.
The service was very quick and pleasant. My fish tacos were just not that good -- they were fried so hard I couldn't really taste the mahi mahi. More fried batter than fish. I've had better from food trucks. The thing that struck me most, though, was how small the portions were. I know my husband left still hungry (even after I gave him one of my tiny fish tacos). My 'eats-like-a bird' 13 year old daughter ate her entire adult entree and then asked if she could order more food. If we hadn't spent $102, it probably would have been funny.
Very loud. The food was good but the portions were pretty small.
I loved the unique dishes and the quality of the food. I thought the value was well matched to the plate size/food choices. Our service was fair primarily because it took a while to order and the bill was provided and the server attempted to pick it up 3 times before we paid (I eventually moved the bill so it wasn't taken prematurely). I was also asked what I wanted for my side dish and was charged $5.00 extra for the grilled avocado. Although I did not ask for this to be taken off the bill, I was still surprised it was implied it was a part of my meal by the manner the server asked me to pick a side when I ordered my meal. We stayed for dinner for approximately 2 hours and the noise level was energetic but we were seated in a quieter corner which was good for conversation. Overall, glad I went and would recommend but not necessarily frequent.
There should be mention of when and where happy hour is offered by host and on reservation site.
We had a great experience at MXDC. Good service and amazing food and drink- we'll definitely return in the future.
I personally found the menu a bit on the limited side. The food was really good, albeit a little expensive. Excellent service, would recommend.
Too loud. People don't want to have to shout to each other to be heard.
Great food, but slow service and a very noisy environment. We couldn’t talk at all. Hard to get attention from the staff, we wanted to order a dessert, but our server never asked. My tacos and freshly squeezed juice were delicious !
Overall it was just an okay experience. The portions were small, the food was okay, and it was expensive. Our server was not attentive. The food took a long time to make it to our table. The restaurant was busy but not pack yet you had to shout to talk to the other people at your table. I will not be going back.
Happy Hour with friends to celebrate April birthdays! We had a great time!
Very small portions, very loud interior. Not the ideal combo. The "three tacos" for lunch is literally the size of an appetizer. I won't be going back. But the food was delicious! Just not the best bang for the buck.
