   The world food travelers made a return visit to MW in the Symphony. This was our fifth visit to the new location and the experience has improved steadily over time. We dined early as we had tickets to see Bonnie Raitt at the Concert Hall. We started with a 2019 Last Chapter from what used to be Chapter 24 Vineyards, now Old Bridge Cellars. From the Willamette Valley, this Pinot Noir is full of fruit, especially raisins, and very smooth. A 100% markup is acceptable. We shared the Beef Tartare and the Chinese Roast Duck Salad. The tartare was moist and luscious, made even more so by the beautiful egg crowning it. We mixed the dollops of , the egg and the beef thoroughly. Served with four pieces of toast, this was one of the best tartare we had in recent memory. The salad was a visual delight, pieces of duck, Shiitake, green beans atop micro greens with peanuts and a tangy dressing. We opted for the Duck Confit and the Truffle Braised Short rib. The latter featured a piece of Foie Gras … Alas, all it needed was shaved truffle. That used to be an option; I didn’t see it on the menu and Tyler, our server, didn’t mention it. The duck was served with gnocchi, the reason my fellow foodie ordered it. A rich sauce was the base for a beautiful presentation of vegetables crowned by the duck. My short rib was served with quarters of slightly underdone yellow potatoes, mushrooms and choi sum, with a rich sauce underneath. We topped off our meal by sharing the Mud Pie … we keep ordering this. It’s more a Chocolate bombe than mud pie; a mix of two very delicious ice creams covered in chocolate. I had a French Press with Ka’u Estate Coffee, my favorite. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at MW, then sauntered over to the Concert Hall to waft in the music of Bonnie Raitt. MW is getting better and better … highly recommended. 4.75 due to the potatoes.

   What an outstanding meal and a great evening. The food was wonderful - the menu offered a wide variety of choices to satisfy everyone in our party. The service was excellent - providing just the perfect mix of attentiveness and privacy. I would certainly recommend the restaurant and look forward to returning often.

   Eating at MW is always a treat. We really enjoyed our meal - had a ribeye steak that was cooked perfectly. I’d also recommend the Caesar salad which was fantastic! We’ll be going back again soon

   Its been a long time since I was surprised (in a good way) at a restaurant. I was surprised in a VERY GOOD way at MW. The food & service was outstanding!!! A+ for taste and creativity by the chef! The staff is professional, well trained, & friendly. We are very lucky to have another outstanding restaurant in Honolulu!!

    I made a last minute reservation and was happy they could accommodate. The service was a little slow at first but every server and host was extremely helpful and apologetic. The actual food was so delicious as well. I got the mochi encrusted kampachi and it was delightful all the way through. My husband had the truffle short rib, which was also very delicious and decadent. For dessert, we got the strawberry shortcake shave ice. I had a really wonderful experience and was super appreciative of how accommodating, careful, and courteous all the staff were especially regarding food allergies. I loved it! Couldn’t recommend it more.

    It was hard to find. Signage wasn’t clear. Didn’t know what to expect, came on a recommendation from a friend. Was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the mochi encrusted kanpachi and the miso honey glazed butterfish. Fish was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! Had the brûlée for dessert and it didn’t disappoint! Also had the Bailey’s Irish Coffee Duo (special for St. Patty’s Day), while it was good, it didn’t have the same wow factor as the brûlée. Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience very much!

    My first time at this venue -it was thoroughly enjoyable and everything we ordered was excellent. My brother and sister in law we’re visiting from Chicago and they gave it a full thumbs up. Our server, Michael was attentive gracious and fun! I will be back

    Our experience at MW was amazing. The food was excellent and we especially enjoyed the asparagus salad, ahi nachos and short ribs. The desserts were so delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent - our server was Kyle and he and the rest of the staff were attentive and helpful. We were able to have a private room for our party which made the evening even more special (we were celebrating an 80th birthday). Thank you to MW for a memorable evening!

    what an amazing chef’s tasting. the wine pairing is an absolute bargain. i would highly recommended anyone looking for an excellent dinner to try this out. Be sure to carefully follow the much appreciated directions on the website of how to access the restaurant.

    Dinner was delicious we ordered the Fried Chicken, Seafood Paella and for dessert Strawberry Shave ice and BRÛLÉE. The fried chicken is nothing like the normal fastfood stuff. The pressed Jidori chikcen with their sauce then we wrapped it with the lettuce that was served with it ...so good. Paella was so full of flavour!!! Dessert is always outstanding!! Great dinner!!

    In all sincerity, it was one of the best dinners I've ever had. Not only was the presentation beautiful but (most importantly to us) the food tasted amazing! The portions were perfect; we were very satisfied but still had room for dessert. Service was prompt and friendly. It was our first time at the restaurant so we asked our server for his help on wines and food choices. I felt he gave us honest suggestions and didn't just direct us to the most expensive items. MW will 100% be on our list of must do's everytime we visit Honolulu.

    Great meal. Kampachi was moist and fatty. Breads and spreads were warm and tasty. Paella sans the crust was a classical flavor with huge perfectly cooked shellfish. The desserts were satisfying and not overly sweet. The Hibiki ice cream had a nice hint of the whiskey as an aftertaste. The drinks were very good, reminiscent of BLA. The service provided by Alyssa was exceptional. My family and I frequented the original location but the location at Velocity has a better view, lighting and spacing. Will definitely return.
