We dined at Musume with friends after an evening at Dallas Theater Center. They accommodated our late arrival, and even kept the kitchen open for us. This was our third time at Musume and have always enjoyed it. Among our favorites are the crispy chicken buns (like an Asian fusion version of Nashville hot chicken sliders), the tempura green beans, the Black Cod, and the crispy lobster fried rice (which was a good-sized portion). We tried the unusual but tasty Friday Night Roll, which featured a light topping of nicely cooked salmon. (see pic). Everything here is consistently delicious, and our server was excellent. My only caution is that there are no real bargains here. But a great option before or after a show in the Arts District!

Went for our anniversary and Khalil + his staff treated us like family. All of the dishes were impeccable, as was the service. Highly recommend, we will absolutely be back.

I would highly recommend Musume for dinner. The atmosphere and ambience are top level but mixed with the service and food selection makes it my new top pick for suggesting this place. If you are in the area and/or going to a show at the opera or performing arts center it’s in perfect location for that as well. Make sure to get on the list for Akai, the secret speak easy behind the restaurant. MuSt be having dinner to enter.

I didn't think I'd be having a bone-in ribeye and a lobster tail at a sushi restaurant but I'm glad I did. Excellent quality ribeye cooked to perfection. The other three diners enjoyed the more traditional sushi rolls and sashimi and loved what they had as well. Nice wine list and a cool atmosphere. Right across the street from the Winspear, so we were able to park in the Winspear's parking garage and walk to and from Musume...very convenient! Will definitely be visiting Musume again when heading to either the Meyerson or the Winspear.

excellent variety of food with an asian theme. Black cod musuko (sp?), duck leg confit, and lobster potstickers were all really great small plates. Only complaint is that the restaurant insisted on playing hip hop type music rather loudly throughout the evening. It forces everyone to speak very loudly when talking which only raised the volume of the whole place. Not a place for conversational dinners.

The perfect dinner spot before heading across the street for a performance at the Winspear. We ordered A LOT of food, and every bit of it was delicious. Terrific service, too. Cannot wait to return.

Everything was amazing. My only issue was the restaurant was freezing inside, but the food was incredible - can’t wait to go back. The sea bass, wild boar potstickers and shishitos were my fav!

The hostess wished my boyfriend a happy birthday when we arrived and that was great!

The server also mentioned it and brought us a dessert that had happy birthday written on the plate.

It was great!

Usually, I'm not a big fan of Asian Fusion food restaurants as they aren't typically very great at any particular dish. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the food that I order. The lobster fried rice, High voltage roll, and miso cod were are very tasty. With Miso cod being my favorite of the three dishes. Also, the hidden speakeasy (Akai) was a nice addition.

My family loves this place! The ambiance consists of a variety of natural materials and is extremely relaxing. The service is outstanding. The food is perfection! Each item we have ordered here has been prepared with fresh ingredients that were put together in unique, exciting, and scrumptious ways. Everything is cooked or prepared to perfection. We rely on the servers to make suggestions, and they have never let us down! The cocktails are also unique ... and fabulous! And they don't scrimp on the liquor either, which is unique in and of itself. We even like seeing what shape glass we'll get, and what shape ice cube we'll get with each cocktail. :) This place really is a cut above. If you enjoy a high quality meal in high quality, restful surroundings with excellent customer service, this place is for you!

Friday night was fantastic.

You have to get the duck, sea bass, sake harasu, gold roll(??), Miami roll and uni sashimi.

High energy the whole night.

Fantastic servers and managers.

We made sure we ate first at Musume, which guaranteed our spot at Akai.

Akai is the speakeasy and entering it is half the fun.

The food was excellent. Our waiter was fantastic. We made our reservation several weeks ago for our daughter’s 18th birthday. We were seated in the walkway next to the kitchen. My husband was continuously bumped into by the wait staff and floor manager as they walked by. We asked to move and were then seated at almost an equally bad table in the center of the entrance to the “back room”. I guess we should have specifically requested one of the secluded tables that remained open during our meal. When making the reservation, I didn’t mark special occasion so I could get a free piece of cake. We want a decent spot in the restaurant to enjoy our $350 meal.

The restaurant is great for us because we have 7:30 concerts at the Meyerson every month. But on top of the convenience, the food is very good. This time we decided to eat small plates instead of a dinner. We had a wide variety of dishes, and they were all good. The pork ribs and the wild boar pot stickers were outstanding. We still have sushi to look forward to on our next visit!

I really enjoy this restaurant and I have recommended people to visit as well. On our visit Tuesday we were given a free sample of the Fried Tofu..........DELICIOUS and the Cherry reduction sauce was HEAVENLY!!! The tofu was so creamy and smooth that it just didn't taste like tofu and the light crispness around the tofu was to perfection. We did order the Spicy Edamame which was the best I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The Japanese Inspired Nashville Chicken fell short this time. CONSISTENCY will win the race with foodies every time. The chicken was fried more like KFC instead of the light tempura crispness and the sauce was very scant, but large clumps of brown sugar in the slaw. Unfortunately I did not finish the chicken. This chicken is "All That" when it is prepared properly, but this time it was a miss.

The food was excellent, but the service was subpar (long wait, cocktails took 15 minutes, etc.) and our chairs were literally broken- we had to ask for them to be fixed once we were already seated in them.
As good as the food was, it was not worth it.
