Always amazing! I only wish the server had been more transparent about the up charges. One of my fave Dallas restaurants.
Firstly, the manager wasn't wearing a mask and sat with guests, twice. There was no hand sanitizer visible upon entry or visible around the bar and dining area. I saw people leaving the bar, and I did not see the bartender wipe down chairs or the bar. One of the doors to the entry of the restaurant pushes in and the other you have to pull and it does not close properly. Which means you have to touch it with your hand and there's no way around it. In the hour and a half to two hours that we were there, I never once saw anyone wipe down, spray or clean anything. The menus are of a material similar to wood grain of some sort, I'm hoping that they were wiping them down. Everyone was wearing masks… Except the diners, who pretty much took them off the minute they walked in the door. There were three tables outside that were moderately spaced. The tables inside were appropriately spaced apart for social distancing.
We have eaten here three times. You don't get much food with each plate. With two people and a bottle of the lower end sake, plan on spending around $250. You won't leave full but you will leave satisfied. The quality of the food has gone down since the last time we were here. The cod appetizer is fantastic but very small portion for two people to share. The scallops were tasty, you get four medium size scallops. The side of brussels sprouts was very unusual. It was undercooked shavings/leaves that were pulled apart and blanched for a few seconds. Completely tasteless. I like to try specialty rolls because they are always fun & tasty in most restaurants. I cannot eat shrimp or king crab - all but one of their specialty rolls had one or both of those in it. The only one I could eat was the vegetarian specialty roll. It was delicious and filling.
The best part was the dessert. It was some kind of a mocha crème brûlée. We shared it and we both liked it very much.
The music was awful -it was club music on a loop. It did not fit the atmosphere.
Delicious sushi and great ambiance. Would definitely come back.
Amazing experience. I highly recommend this restaurant. We had first class service and the food was outstanding.
Do not waste your evening out here. Classless management that sat with a table of younger female guests, and were so loud, my date and I cloud barely have a conversation. Disheartening to see customers being so low on the totem pole. Waiter, Matt, was great. This place has gone completely down hill. Never going back.
Amazing dining experience.
I was pretty disappointed here. Positives: cool atmosphere and very friendly/helpful service.
Negatives: not a single dish we had was impressive or even really good. We had several small plates, sashimi, rolls, and sea bass. All were very mediocre, and the sashimi was not high quality (correcting myself here since I was informed that they buy their fish from the same place as most restaurants noted further in the review: the sashimi was not impressive and did not taste the same as I have had at other places mentioned. ) The roll selection is disappointing and tasted very blah. Wanted to love it but was bummed. Would much prefer Uchi, Shinsei, Nobu or even Oishii over it.
Second time here in 2 weeks. Love the Japanese whisky and sake selections and food is excellent quality. Speakeasy is a definite plus but got a little full for the times.
I gave the food and restaurant a 5 star rating because there weren't more stars to give them. Awesome food, service and great atmosphere. The owner came over checked on us and gave us a tour that night.
Had such a great time here! Fresh food and the waiter was knowledgeable.
First time dining here. Had the Restaurant Week menu courses and the service was very good, the food was good, but the portion size on seabass entree was smaller than the appetizer, so that was disappointing.
The speakeasy was good; service and drinks were great.
May or may not try again, for the regular menu.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Musume! Our waiter was charming and very helpful with sake selections. It wasn't his fault that our sides came to the table well in advance of our entrees, and that our food was delivered piecemeal to the table; I hate that! Anyway, it was a nice crowd...families with pre-teen kids; young people out with friends; just a nice vibe. Way too loud for conversation at the table...add in masks and it's nearly impossible to hear the staff. Regardless, we felt COVID precautions were in place and we really enjoyed our special-occasion dinner out (nice complementary birthday dessert, btw). We will go again for sure.
A bit pricey, but completely worth it for the extremely attentive, courteous service.
Our food was delicious and well presented - elegant!! The waiter answered all our questions and made some suggestions from menu. Restaurant located near Arts District in Dallas - nearest parking was only 1 block away so convenient. Does have sushi bar also.
We also noticed a side room for large groups. Was impressed with the decor and certainly the menu - unusual items listed.
This place is A+ outstanding!!!! A must go to!!
Fantastic excellent waiter and bar service. Appreciated the lounge in back as well! True throw back to the speakeasy days
Outstanding service - right from the front desk to the servers. It was a great dining experience - we had the Akaushi - highly recommend (a bit pricey but good splurge). Lobster fried rice was ok, wish the lobster was just buttered than crispy. We tried a few other sushis and appetizers. Ask for Akai - went there for a night cap - this place will be fun during busier times, good cocktails. Overall it was a special night and we sure splurged. All over a bit on the pricey side but highly recommend for a special night out.
From the staff to the meal everything was outstanding! Will be back soon
This was our first time there, we went for our anniversary dinner. The food was amazing and so were the drinks! Our server Nathan was awesome. Hope to go back soon
This was a great date night experience. Food was top notch, and loved the ambiance of the place and it’s speak easy room! Would not skip out on the nigiri sushi here even though they have a great entree menu. The sushi fish was fresh and worth it and the hot entrees were also delicious!
Wow! Quality of the food was second to none! Sashimi was incredibly fresh. The Friday Night roll was truly special and delicious. Definitely will be back again!
My fiancé came here for a date night and enjoyed an amazing meal! We started off with the Musume Buns- one of each and the chicken tempura and pork belly were delicious. Next up we had the Hot Mess roll and the flavors were a great combination. We moved on the Lobster Fried Rice which had a good spice to it. Lastly we rounded out our meal with the tuna specialty sashimi, which was DIVINE. Honestly the best part of the meal. This is our second time here and it did not disappoint!
I will definitely be going back. The atmosphere was phenomenal!!
Great restaurant, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Our first time there, so we let our waiter order for us, his picks were spot on. The food was amazing and actually fairly reasonably priced for the location. Definitely will be going back
The food and service were great! I just wish that no one had to wear a mask... it's depressing and ruins the enjoyment
Great food and drinks. Our waitress was exceptional!
Lots of small dishes that were all amazing! The cocktails were fantastic and the service was excellent!
It was my son’s birthday
Amazing food. Helpful wait staff. Perfect evening. Learned a lot about Japanese whisky
Service, food, atmosphere was exceptional! Manager, owner, along with Alec takes such good care of us and make us feel like special guests. And by the way they were very busy that night.
Very nice restaurant, staffs are friendly
We both enjoyed
I had been to Musume once before and decided it would be a great place to celebrate my girlfriends birthdays. The service, food and ambiance was superb! My girlfriends loved it and were all impressed.
We’ll definitely be back 🖤
Best sushi in Dallas!
Attentive service, exceptional Food, refreshing cocktails.
Too crowded to accomplish social distancing.
we were a little worried the entire time we were there.
too expensive for what it is, would rather go to Uchi or Tei An!
Alec was attentive, friendly and professional, just awesome! The food was delicious!
