Great management and staff. Owners make a point to stop by your table and check on you and make suggestions. My 4th time to eat here, and it was incredibly consistent, with great food and great service.
Great date night! Best sushi try the lobster dynamite, Friday night roll and the Blake roll!
We went before the Harry Connick Jr. show. The restaurant was packed and we were worried about getting our food quickly. We got it within 20 minutes and had extra time to have an espresso.
My wife and I stopped in for a bite before attending the Harry Connick show across the street. I've been here several times for lunch, but this was our first dinner experience, and we were not disappointed. My wife ordered the Sea Bass which looked fantastic, and she said it was delicious. I only ordered the Dim Sum and the Mean Green roll. Best dim sum I've had in a long time, but the roll was very tasty. The fresh wasabi was definitely a great choice. Thanks to Kaitlyn for awesome service, great suggestions, and a most pleasant evening. We will be back.
The food was amazing and we had great service! The 24CT roll with smoked soy sauce was delicious!
Great food. Great drinks. Great place
We go here before the DSO concerts. Service is stellar because all staff members work as a team to make sure each customers needs are met. Food is fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Great wine list and Japanese whiskies. A bit overpriced but not enough to deter us from returning. One of our favorite Dallas restaurants.
Outstanding sashimi fresh and well prepared, dumplings were spot on and brussel sprouts were amazing. A bit on the pricey side but food won’t disappoint
Sat night energy was enjoyable.
Akai was perfect.
Friendly staff. Impressive menu. Dirty martini was wonderful. We ordered the cod, spring rolls, miso beans. When we finished we saw the lobster at the next table - Wow! We will be back soon.
Great location for heading to symphony or the Winspear. Great, delicious selections for vegan. Friendly, helpful staff. Easy valet parking. We will be back!
Nice before the theater and symphony restaurant. Staff always professional and the keep the service moving. I will be back again soon.
We had a fabulous experience. Small
Plates are delicious! We had great service from servers and the manager came by. Lots of variety on menu and interesting entrees. Fresh ingredients!
Great food, fantastic service, and delicious speciality drinks. We had 8–10 food items, and 4-5 different drinks, and everything tasted perfect. Periodic check-ins from the owner were nice, and he offered wonderful suggestions. And a major plus, after the perfect dinner and drinks, you can walk back to their hidden bar behind the kitchen, and enjoy the remainder of the night, in the exclusive Akai lounge. All the door guys, bouncers, hostesses, and wait-staff, were very kind, and really enhanced the night. The whole experience was 5-Star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
If you liked Kenichi you’ll love it
Awesome experience. Great food and service. We were very happy and will go back. It was very loud which made conversations challenging.
The food, as always, was fantastic. The service was a bit lackluster, unfortunately. We were greeted promptly by a manager, which was lovely. He did not offer to get us water or drinks, but someone arrived shortly after, so it’s very possible he sent them over. This person was not our server—completely okay and I appreciate him coming over—and offered us water, but left so quickly we didn’t have a chance to order our drinks. When our server finally arrived, we were able to order drinks and had to literally stop her from leaving so we could order our food. We ordered, specifically saying the handful of appetizers we ordered to be be brought out as the meal. This did not happen. The scallops arrived a solid ten minutes before the other food. Another appetizer (supposed to be part of an entree) and the side veg then came, followed shortly by my entree. Finally, the third appetizer appetizer came. All of the food was delicious, but the timing was not what we’d asked for. The servers seemed much more interested in just dropping the items quickly and leaving. My precious experience at this restaurant was so very different and so lovely. Hopefully Friday night was just an off night.
The black miso cod was phenomenal! I also really like the lamb pop small plate and the vegetarian fried rice. There are lots of other things on the menu that I would like to try next time. It is also very convenient to eat there right before going to the Meyerson.
Headed here before an event at the Winspear Opera house (right across the street). Valet here, don’t park in the garage. $10 versus $20. My bad. Anyway...the service, food and atmosphere were awesome. My other half does sushi, I don’t. They had a wonderfully tender steak teriyaki entree that I devoured. Not before we shared a solid seaweed salad and out of this world boar potstickers (Gyoza). Amazing experience. It’s not the cheapest place but you definitely get what you pay for. The sake and whiskey lists looked great, but we’re wine people so we didn’t try any but if you are into sake and whiskey, this is your place.
Very busy when we arrived late for our dinner. We thought we would not be able to eat, but the server assured us that we would have time to eat. She was correct and everything went smoothly. We will come back.
Super great service and food! Waiter was attentive.
Every bite was tasteful! I will be back. The staff was so helpful and made the experience even better!
Loved the ambiance. Food and service was top notch. Portions are smaller than we expected from the descriptions so I would definitely ask the server for additional descriptions. Great meal and the flavors and pairings were outstanding!!
This gem of an Asian restaurant has an innovative menu with quality ingredients From miso dishes to sushi the preparation is outstanding the service superior and the atmosphere awesome
As an added treat walk through the kitchen to a private speakeasy in the back of the restaurant
The only complaint I have was the quality of service
We love Musume. Food and Service are always outstanding
The food was decent, not crazy about the atmosphere it’s more of a younger crowd. Our waitress couldn’t pace our appetizers or entrees, she would either come off as rushing us to order or take her time to make it back to the table to take our order, we didn’t order dessert cause of that reason. I expected more of a high end experience like Uchi with experienced staff.
Great Valentine's Day date night♥️
One of our favorite places
We dined here before a show at Winspear and had an amazing dinner. The service was excellent and made sure we had time to enjoy our meal and still make the show.
Every dish we ordered was beautiful to look at and had incredible flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant and plan on returning with my friends.
The sushi and dim sum is on point. I also love the ginger and wasabi. They also provided complimentary shishito peppers that were delicious. The dim sum had fantastic sauces including a remarkable mango cilantro. The Heart of Gold and Friday night rolls were well prepared and came with sauces that also complemented the roll well and tempered the wasabi to make it a better combination.
Musume is the most wonderful- Khalil knows how to run a great place- Nathan was amazing- it seriously is one of my most favorite restaurants in Dallas- I always look forward to being there- lamb lollipops and the delicious cod are my go to’s but I am now in LOVE with the wild boar pot stickers- lovely wine list and sake galore- this restaurant is a GEM!
Going to a play at the Wylie so perfect location.
We had their sushi which was excellent started with the hamachi Serrano , then had salmon and tuna sashimi, prawn sushi and roll with tempura shrimp. Everything was delicious and fresh Loved the fresh wasabi too. Ended with scoop of green tea ice cream. Our server was very attentive and made sure we were on time for our play.
Also you can valet your car and pick up after the play.
Server was thoughtful and genuine. He was also very efficient. Food was very good. I enjoyed meal.
The food was bland, or tasted like quality airplane catering. The portions are small. The restaurant is beautiful and ambiance trendy. The service was average. The price was incredibly high. The value was just not there for us.
Very nice experience. Being across the street from the Meyerson and ATT center was great. Good sake collection. Had the flight of sake's.
This is been our go to place the last two times we were seeing a show and it has not disappointed either time. The food was great and the device that a even better. And given it’s a 5 min walk to any of the area venues it could not be easier.
So happy found great Sushi and insane selection of Saki. Can’t wait to come back.
Great to have a restaurant of this caliber in the Arts District!
The short rib is perfect.
