Mustards Grill Ratings and Reviews
I have been going to Mustard’s for 30years and it is probably the best it’s ever been. Casual dining with great food and one of the best and most fun wine lists in the Valley. The wines are incredibly good and really fairly priced. The lamb burger was amazing and the regular burger my be the best in th valley. This is just a great local one off place
As expected, a great dining experience. Although fully occupied, our reservation was honored with a short wait, and the food and service were great. Hot crunchy bread and great butter came with the meal. Onion rings (actually slivers) were a great mound of great flavor, served with a wonderful home-made apple ketchup. The hamburger and grilled rabbit were both great.
Really enjoyed the duck (having had the Mongolian Pork Chop there the night before). Yes I went two nights in a row! The entire staff is so welcoming I felt like a 'regular' - and I haven't been there for years! Buy the cookbook, so you can enjoy their cuisine even when you are not in Napa Valley.
This is an old time Napa favorite that was new to us. Most of the time it has a line out the door and reservations are difficult to obtain. We understand why because the staff was professional and personable, the food was superb and the decor charming. The highest praise we can give is that we took a friend to dinner there the very next evening and had another wonderful meal.
You must have the onion rings (which are more like onion ribbons than rings) and the homemade ketchup. My friend who had never been to Mustard's loved the place. We also had the ahi sandwich, beautifully cooked, and the apple crisp for dessert. Every bite was perfect.
This restaurant is a Napa Valley treasure! We took our family friends to dinner at MUSTARD'S the night before our wedding 29 years ago. It was terrific then, and it's still terrific. How many other restaurants have achieved that consistent quality over the years? As foodies, we can tell you --- very few!
Used to be a favorite, but the now common CA trend of farm to table and organic fresh choices has caught up and passed it by. 4 friends for dinner, none of us had anything exceptional that we would go back for - beet salad it was delicious but you can get those many places. One of us was very disappointed in taste and textureless (albeit) veggie burger – most places now have very good veggie sandwich options. My main gripe was sitting down at a table with a long black hair on the tablecloth that they then put bread on without a plate...
I used to cook in the most expensive French restaurant in the bay area. This place is legit, the bomb, the cat's meow, whatever phrase you use, but I'll just tell you it was one of the best meals I've ever had. I told my server to bring me the best entree with the best glass of wine to go with it. Mongolian pork chop. Go there. Eat it. Incredible!
I had rabbit. A little chewy, but delicious with turnips and Brussel Sprouts. My husband had the lamb burger. Divine. The tomato / curry soup was to far outthere for our tastes. The waitress was a little frazzled, but out of nowwhere there appeared a manager and saved the day. All and all -good time :)
Still one of our favorite restaurants in Napa, and even after twenty-plus years of patronizing it, Mustards Grill has not lost its edge at all. There was a time Mustards did not take reservations (they would "hold" a spot), but that policy was usually a disappointment. The true reservations system used now is much better.
Good ambiance and service was as expected but food wasn’t outstanding; it was decent and ok, but not outstanding. Had the mixed green salad, the lemon garlic chicken, baby back ribs and the fish special (mussels in curry broth)...the best was the fish special. All in all, an ok experience but not exceptional.
I used to like Mustards Grill but the food quality and taste has gone downhill. The pork chop was tough, the chicken wings tasted strange. Maybe it was an off night but I am pretty sure this is my last visit to this restaurant. The serving staff was great, as always.
