Mustards Grill Ratings and Reviews
My party was disappointed with our experience. Dinner was quite overpriced for quality of the cuisine. I had the sole tostada . The sole was cooked nicely; however, I did not care for the heaping pile of dressed cabbage on top. My friend thought I had received the wrong meal — he thought it was a salad!! The waiter took forever & a day to bring us our check.
After hearing raves about the Mustards Grill pork chops we finally went to try them. They did not disappoint! All the food we had there was fresh and excellent. Our service was also excellent even though we had a picky diner who sent her fish back since she needed it well done (IMO it was cooked perfectly), but the server handled it as a professional and made things right. We will definitely go again when we are in the area.
Mustards definitely lived up to the hype! All the food was perfectly prepared. The tamale had wonderful texture and flavor. The onion rings were crispy and fun with a great house made ketchup. The Porkchop was the star of the show. It was truly phenomenal. The wine list had a wide variety of everything. Service was great and they were very accommodating of our newborn child. One of our favorite anniversary meals ever! Will definitely be back. The menu has something for everyone.
Delicious food, lovely presentation, excellent service and a lively environment combined to make this a fun way to celebrate a birthday lunch with friends. The only disappointment was that there was no tangible recognition of the birthday (e.g. complimentary dessert, which is typical), which would have been nice, considering the restaurant and server were well aware of the reason for our get-together.
I have been to Mustard's twice before and absolutely loved it both times. This time it was a disappointment; it just seemed like the food was nothing special and some of it was not up to par. My friend had the barbecued ribs and the waiter told her that they weren't the "fall-off-the-bone variety" . I like ribs that stay on the bone and are firm, but i tasted her ribs and they were flat out tough and dry. I had the macaroni and cheese side dish which looked great but was a little flat as to taste--tasted milky rather than cheesy. My husband thought the tamale appetizer was just okay but he enjoyed the squash risotto. The smoked chicken wings were interesting and flavorful. Overall, it was not their best performance.
Meals were delicious. We lived in California and visited often. We returned this October for of anniversary and were not disappointed. My husband loves the Rabbit dinner. I missed the ham sandwich they had in the past but the barbecue sandwich was tasty and I asked for fries instead of chips and they were wonderful. The noise level seemed higher than we remembered, but everyone seemed to be having great fun and enjoying the wonderful service and delicious food. We had a chance to visit with the owner. My husband is Swiss trained chef and we have owned several restaurants. Mustards stands out among other restaurants, you will not be disappointed. We now live in the Midwest and wish we could transport ourselves to Mustards at will.
We arrived a day earlier than our reservation the hostess could not have been more understanding and after a short wait they accommodated us. Alice the server was fantastic and a real professional the recommendations she made were outstanding. It was the best pork chop I ever had.
Can't wait to go back
Our server was friendly, professional and fun at the same time. I ordered the lemon sauce chicken and my husband had the pork chop. The onion rings were crispy, a tad over salty, but I couldn't get enough! Both were perfectly cooked - juicy and extremely flavorful. The lime pie with meringue was perfectly tart with just the right amount of sweetness. We will definitely be back!
I have been going to Mustard's Grille for over 20 years. The food has always been consistent until this visit. The Pork Chop was cooked properly, but the portion size was much smaller than in the past. The Grilled Hanger Steak was also much smaller than usual. The steak barely tasted like it had spent any time in the usual marinade(which is amazing), and it was cooked way beyond medium even though medium rare was ordered.
The Highlight of the meal was the Calamari which ate more like a salad, but was awesome. The service excellent. Manager that greeted us and worked us in even though we were late for a reservation due to a wreck on the highway was friendly and accommodating.
Great place for fresh food and so many options!! Food was great, split a burger and the house salad, also had the fried onions and the vanilla caramel butterscotch dessert. I would probably pass on the dessert next time - it was basically butterscotch pudding. Staff is friendly.
