Since its beginnings as a local gathering spot over 35 years ago, Mustards Grill has blossomed into a destination for all who appreciate memorable food, superb wines and a warm welcome. Mustards food is Chef/Owner Cindy Pawlcyn’s mix of American regional dishes with global influences. The list of “Way Too Many Wines” represents the best from appellations throughout California and the New World.
Mustards is an American Grill, featuring flavors from around the globe. The wood-burning grill produces such favorites as Cindy’s famous Mongolian Pork Chop, Sonoma Rabbit, and the ½ pound Niman Ranch hamburger. The oakwood smoker fills the restaurant with aromas of BBQ baby back ribs, Wood Oven Duck, and our Oooeee Smoked Pork. Specialties include Seared Ahi Tuna on sesame crackers and Crispy Calamari tossed with curried slaw. The eclectic wine list features Way Too Many Wines from The Napa Valley, Sonoma, The Oregon, and Europe!
Just simple perfection with great service and cozy atmosphere!
Dining experience atg Mustards Grill is alway a pleasure with the same comfort food that we come back every time we visit. Always good service and easy reservations.
We've been to Mustard's once or twice a year for the last 30+ years. This last visit might have been the best, the food seemed to be even better than we remembered (and we know the menu and regularly make some items from the cookbook).
Great staff, wonderful food, convenient location in the Napa Valley (on Hwy 29).
Superb service, reminiscent of European style service. Great wine list. Kudos to the chef - he surprised me with a great flavor mix on my pork chop. I haven’t been to Mustards in some time, and they haven’t missed a beat.
We enjoyed dinner for our group of four during an annual trip to Napa. I had the lamb of the day and the meal was good but not outstanding. Basically grilled lamb chops. Nothing really to compliment the meat (chimichurri would have been nice). Our waiter was attentive but very busy. Our table was located in a corner near the service entrance so ambience was ok but staff was walking by constantly. Mustards is a great restaurant and we'll try again on our vacation next year. I'll be sure to ask for a table away from the service entrance.
Friends recommended the restaurant. Our experience was even better than the "gushing" recommendations.
I have been here several times. Doesn’t seem as good as it used to be.
We are not strangers to Mustards. The flavors and ambience are always elegant. Mustards never disappoints.
I was dining alone and had the rabbit followed by the lemon lime tart. All were phenomenal! Excellent service!
The food was great. The service was excellent.
Food was excellent, lots of choices, but wine is expensive. Excellent service.
We moved to Sonoma a year ago and and always wanted to get over to Mustards Grill. The food was fantastic. When we have out of town guests it will be one of our "go to's" for sure - overall a great wine country restaurant with a high energy vibe.
Great bartenders too! Shout out to Kurt!
If you want to enjoy fabulous food and attentive service, Mustards is the place for you. We loved the tamales, a wonderful salad with blue cheese, a delicious pork sandwich, extraordinary onion rings and topped off our meal with lemon meringue pie. Each item makes you moan with delight. If you are headed to the Napa Valley, you should really plan on experiencing all that Mustard offers.
Great food and a great location near a lot of wineries. Love it here!
Such a fun experience. Great wine, delicious food. A true gem!
The noise was overwhelming. We missed the beautiful pork chop which shrunk to a average chop. Too bad we can no longer rave about it.
The scallops are outstanding we enjoyed.
The iconic lemon meringue gets the gold star.
Service friendly and helpful.
Good, consistent food and service. Can always count on a quality meal with excellent service.
Attentive, helpful welcoming service and fresh, hot delicious food. Always a great feel inside this special restaurant.
It was good. Do not understand all the hype when there are many other places to enjoy a great meal at in Napa. We had dinner there. Like I said, it was good but not great.
Our server was wonderful! We were on our honeymoon and they brought us complementary champagne when we told her. Very above and beyond service, with good food.
This was our first dining experience at Mustards Grill. Mustards lived up to everything we were told to expect from friends who were frequent diners. The food was excellent, service prompt, friendly and upbeat. Loved it and looking forward to going back on our next Napa visit.
We are frequent diners at Mustards. March 1 was a special day for us and restaurant with a outstanding lunch provided a memorable experience.
We had a delicious meal and great service. I had the scallops which were perfectly prepared and presented. My partner is a vegetarian and enjoyed the “adult” grilled cheese sandwich and greens. He is always thrilled when he can enjoy a well made dry martini! He was very happy. The bread pudding was amazing. Our server, Sarah, was attentive and a delight to talk to in spite of the place being very busy. One suggestion is go on a week night or go very early on the weekend. This place fills up!
great food. the onion rings i could have done without tho. kind of tasteless and soggy with too much oil. larger and more crispy would be better but all in all, was a great meal
Food was great - pork chop was slightly dry, but everything else was delicious!!
Our server Mo was so attentive and delightful, we will definitely be back to see her😎
Waited with no where to sit over 40 minutes with a reservation. Very loud atmosphere. 1 out of our 4 entrees were good. Extremely overpriced for quality of food and service
A Napa Valley institution. Comfort food and an energetic vibe.
Good. However very disappointed in how a complaint was handled.
Loved the special halibut. Great selection of wines!!
We had an excellent meal and experience. Riley was a wonderful server and we will be back next time in Napa
Great service and food selections. The staff is warm and friendly and make you feel at home. We really enjoy Mustards. Our 4th visit over the last couple of years. We have always enjoyed Cindy’s Backstreet Grill as well. Both have been great restaurants.
We had a terrific time at Mustards in Napa this past weekend. Had to order the onion rings to share (delicious), and we all tried something different. I loved my pasta and every bite of the fish ordered was enjoyed. The only bummer was a burger, which was ordered well done, was served too pink. I'm a medium to medium rare girl so I thought is was perfect, but those "well done" people need it well done. We didn't mention it to our server, which we should have, because they are great about making things right.
Rocky start (they gave our reservation away to someone who had a similar name so we had to wait until their table opened up, and it was a 4 top for our group of 5). Then we spent the rest of the evening waiting for our waitress to come back to the table at every step (and we were not in a hurry). No one ever acknowledged the birthday we were celebrating (it was on the reservation and the birthday girl was wearing a sash and tiara) and then they had the nerve to charge us for her dessert without mentioning it. Manager was condescending and unapologetic when we complained. I will say the food was excellent, but I would not return. Plenty of other great restaurants in the area!
Very good food, service and atmosphere.
Always a good dining experience at Mustards. Staff is well trained and knowledgeable and the food is always great. Recommend booking a week in advance.
Still doing very well after 36 years. Everything was fresh and delicious. Calamari with the curry slaw was the best thing I’ve ever had in my entire life. I will order it the next time I come
Honestly it couldn't have been better in any way at all.
