MustangHarry’s underwent a $1.5M renovation in 2017, which expanded and transformed the entire venue with tufted leather banquets, reclaimed wood walls and nooks, and antique fixtures and skylights that capture the rustic charisma of post-industrial NYC with an Irish twist.
Great place. Have been going there on and off for nearly two decades. However, it was the first time back in about 7 years. Great food, service was both excellent and timely. The staff is friendly and helpful. Had a reservation and was seated on time. One downer. . . seems the bar has 'measured pours' for cocktails and wine. A lot of money for very little. And lastly, the men's restroom has ZERO privacy!
Went to Fleetwood Mac concert ! Great food great concert 👍🏼
We had a nice meal at Mustang Harry’s. The noise level, like most pubs was loud and halfway through our meal the lights were reduced and it was really too dark.
Portions of food were modest in size.
Early dinner at 6:30 and the place was so crowded it was nearly impossible to get to the staircase to the 2nd level
Server excellent. Food very good - had shrimp nachos, sliders & tuna blt. Noise level high because fire alarm going off for 15 minutes (was a false alarm), but still had great time. will definitely go back!
Having been to the restaurant previously I thought it would be a good bet - not so much. A fried chicken sandwich could have used a steak knife to cut it was so tough and the small square of chicken on the brioche roll was not hidden by all the condiments. A burger and chicken for $50 was not worth the price , not impressed by the quality.
First huge plus - we had a 5:45 reservation on a hockey game evening and our table was ready for us the moment we walked in at 5:42. I love that and kudos for a solid reservation. Our waitesss was from Ireland and was “lovely” - she very attentive and pleasant. We had a great time chatting with her - sorry I didn’t get her name. Our food was pretty good overall, special orders came as ordered. Only slight miss was slightly undercooked filet mignon on the baguette sandwich, but it was still very good so didn’t require additional work. The place was mobbed ahead of the hockey and much quieter when we left, so keep that in mind MSG events when planning to visit. All in all we really enjoyed it and will definitely return when in the MSG area.
Great place for a quick meal before an event at Madison Square Garden. More appropriate for a meal with a friend than a business meal.
Was recommended table on 2. floor, It was totally empty. Uninterested waiter.
Perfect spot for dinner/drinks before (or after) a show at MSG. I didn't realize Elton John was there the night we went, so it was SUPER packed! SO glad I made a reservation on Open Table. The place is beautiful, the drinks are great, the food is delish, and the service is excellent! The owner, Niall, makes you feel like a VIP! Our server, Freddy, was very attentive and personable.
Had 6:30 reservation for 8:00 concert at MSG. They brought out our food at 7:30. We told them we were leaving.
Great sport and hang out place for anytime.
We stuck to drinks and sandwiches. The tuna and brisket sandwiches were quite tasty, as was the bread & butter pudding we shared for dessert
Fish n chips were undercooked and nit flaky - fries were nit crisp
The restaurant is very convenient to MSG. I highly recommend making a reservation regardless of the day of the week. The food is good and the portions are large. This is a bar restaurant with multilevel seating. The service was efficient and the server was friendly. Love the garlic parm fries.
Always a good stop before a show at MSG. Food is solid , drinks reasonable and can’t beat the location.
Appetizers and lunch was fantastic. Servers and management were totally accommodating with great attitudes. 1st time there and definitely not our last.
Sorry for such a bad review. Our second visit here and quite disappointed in the food quality, quanity and over all taste. Our first visit was so much better. Wonderful service though. French onion soup not good, shrimp cocktail was horrendous for the price. 4 shrimp come one. 2 out of four sandwiches were ok. Need to work on consistent food quality.
We went when it first opened before a Rangers game. It was good. My chicken sandwich was so good. The workers are friendly. Fast service.
From the Front Door to the end of our experience is always 5 stars!!!
The food is always excellent, and Wait Staff are always cordial and attentive to our needs.
I just had my 20th visit this past week before Ranger Games and never been disappointed yet.
Great food choices, convenient to MSG!
Close proximity to MSG. Nice, clean looking place. Kids menu included drink and ice cream for $12. Happening place. Vibrant bar scene. Big TVs across the back of the bar. We had nice view to see TVs and action being seated in the bar area. Typical restaurant/pub in area: small portions that are a bit overpriced, but again, like everything else in the area. We had a very nice server who was attentive as well as other staff and manager. Signature Mustang burger I had was good, but nothing "signature". Wife had Cobb Salad. Again, nice salad but nothing spectacular. Kids had decent kids meals.
Far too loud. Food OK but not special. Service is very good.
Pre concert valentine dinner date
Maybe because it was very busy. But the burgers were very over cooked and took forever to get food. But very cool place.
Neat ambiance and fabulous food!
Fantastic place. My husband got me tickets to see Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden,i was searching for a place close by. I found Mustang Harrys to be in walking distance from the garden. I am so happy we chose this place. Such fun. Love the decor, the staff are friendly and helpful. we had a light meal and drinks. The food was great, and the overall atmosphere was perfect. They played Billy Joel music,to get us all pumped up for the concert. I will be back, along with my friends. Thank you for adding to my great evening.
The food was excellent. Service was polite but our waitress should have attended to our table more
The hostess was rude and did not have a table ready for us as our allotted time however the manager did help find us a table within 15 mins.
Good food and an excellent place to visit before a NYR game. Staff is very attentive.
Nothing fancy going on here. Typical crowd before a Rangers game. I wouldn't recommend the wings. Good choice of beers on tap. Just a couple of blocks from the Garden makes this a good pre-game stop.
Great atmosphere with all of the Ranger fans and a few Toronto fans. Very good service. Food was good and specials were great. Our place to go before Ranger games,
So fun and perfect for before a game at MSG
Great place for dinner and drinks before a game or event at Madison Square Garden. Be sure to make a reservation. This place gets super busy and loud. The food is good, not your average bar variety. Service was good and the drink selection was decent.
I reserved on open table, and it seemed to me they placed us as far away from open tables. When we walked in this place was empty. However they sat us upstairs through all the empty tables tables.
I would not reserve a table through open table again. Sitting next to a bathroom with a shared sink for both women and men was not expected. However the service was good and the burger was worth the money but no blue cheese. My wife's filet brochure was very good.
Just not what I expected booking so far in advance
We went here to have a light dinner before the Ranger game. The service was great and the food was good. We will be back.
Service was great. Prices reasonable for New York city. Turkey wrap good and husband liked his burger. Not a fan of shoestring fries but that's a personal preference. A little on the loud side. Overall would go back.
Location to MSG is fantastic. I made a 5:00pm reservation. Unfortunately I had a brain glitch and thought my reservation was at 5:30pm. We showed up exactly at 5:30pm and the host explained to me we were at 5PM and that he gave our table away. I told him it was my fault completely and I had the wrong time in my head and apologized. He was NOT friendly at all or in anyway understanding of a human error. He did end up finding us a table but said we HAD to be out by 7PM and would tell our server as such. I do wonder if we had gotten there for the 5PM reservation if they would have also kicked us out at a designated time or let us stay as long as we wanted. HMMM???
We were seated upstairs and at the time there were MULTIPLE empty tables . Hence, I didn't quite understand the rudeness and issue with giving us a table. In any case, our actual server was extremely nice and professional. We ordered chicken nachos which were good cocktails and entrees which we all enjoyed.
Overall, I would come back for the food, location and fun atmosphere, but make SURE you don't make any human errors when it comes to your reservation time as you will be scolded and dealt with rudely.
Service not great. Food ok but nothing special.
