Mustang Harry's Ratings and Reviews
Great place to grab dinner before a game at MSG due to proximity. Sports type bar & food. Nice atmosphere, decorated nicely for Christmas season. Food & service was great. Note: Don't ask to sit at booth if you are under 5'3", your feet will not touch the foot rest. Yes, we would come again.
Good food and service. They rushed us! We had a 330pm reservation and about 345 they came over to us and said that this table has a 430pm reservation, meaning....hurry up! If we didn’t have show tickets I would give out up my feet and ordered a few more drinks!🍺
Food is very good. Particularly the buffalo wings. Excellent dirty Martini’s. Perfect, in fact! The server was very good. (The calamari also good but the sauces they serve with it can be better. Try learning how to make a real Italian marinara sauce and you will nail that dish.
Convenient to NY Penn Station, Madison Square Garden and the surrounding area, we visited primarily due to location and positive Opentable reviews. We were fortunate to have just missed the NY Rangers crowd, so we had a nice quiet meal. Food (burger, salad, and fried chicken sandwich) were all very good. Service from our wait staff was excellent, with authentic Irish charm. The front-of-the-house greeter was moody and did not set an example consistent with the restaurant staff. Pricing was quite reasonable for the area. If in the area again, we'd likely be back.
Restaurant was recommended by family member as a good place to eat before attending a concert at MSG. Staff was pleasant, food adequate but french fries were extremely salty, Noise volume was deafening. . . . . . but perhaps thats a generational preference.
During the day this is a great affordable restaurant for business lunch. The bar scene happens later and creates a different vibe.
The chef is sensational -- something as simple as chicken soup becomes a gourmet treat with interesting flavors. Love the lettuce wrap beef sandwiches and the fries.
My third visit here since the renovations and couldn't be more pleased.
The wait staff is attentive and friendly. The food was brought on time and HOT!
Just wish they might encorporate a few of the "Seven Bistro" dishes such as Mac N' cheese croquettes and Garlicky Shrimp to their menu.
This is the place to go before a concert at the Garden, because they play the music of that night’s performer during dinner. Despite the large crowd of diners, the staff hustled and the food and drinks came swiftly. I would give 10 stars for service if possible! I gave 4 stars for food ONLY because the portion size of the salmon was very small, even by NYC standards. However it was delicious! The steak sandwich and fries were a more typical size for NYC Restaurant. I would definitely return before our next concert at Madison Square Garden.
Went here because we had been there before without having a reservation. Made one this time before seeing a concert at MSG, which is very close and walkable. Seating was instant. Food selection was good and nice selections for the specials that evening. Not over priced. My wife had the Sheapards Pie, and I had the pork chop special both were delicious and abundant.
The service was excellent and the manager came over to check on us to ensure we were happy.
Great choice for food in the immediate area of MSG.
Went here for an early dinner before Eric Clapton concert at MSG. Hostess and server were very polite, friendly and accommodating. Food order was exactly right, cooked as I requested, and arrived fast. Considering how full the restaurant was, I was happily surprised by the efficiency, all with a smile.
It's no better than a TGIF since their renovations...food was mediocore at best and the srvice is rushed...they don't even play the music of the artist performing at MSG that night anymore either...good for a drink or two but stay away from the overpriced food!
Although my husband and son have been to Mustang Harry's on many, many occasions prior to a Ranger Game, this was MY first visit. I made a reservation for my 92 year old father-in-law and myself for 6:00. We had tickets to the Neil Diamond Concert! We approached the hostess desk where I gave the Lynn my name. Lynn handed us over to a young man saying "upstairs". I said it would be impossible for my very elderly father-in-law to negotiate the steps. (Having never been here before I was unaware that there was an upstairs). Lynn had a VERY negative reaction to my request to please seat us downstairs and firmly informed me that we would NOW have to sit at a high top table. Fortunately, my dad doesn't hear well. We proceeded to this type of seating arrangement and managed. A booth would have been much more comfortable for him, but Lynn had an even more negative reaction to that suggestion. We enjoyed the food in spite of it all. Will I ever return, never. My husband and son are both younger than 92. I am, too. But the way Lynn treated my father-in-law will not be forgotten or forgiven.
We needed a spot to eat dinner before a show at the Garden, so we tried Mustang Harry's. Overall it was a pretty good experience. The service was good and food was prepared well. The only restaurant was a bit loud though if you wanted to talk. We would go here again the next time we are in this area.
Went here prior to the Billy Joel concert and to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday. While our waitress was not super attentive, we had a great time. The remodel looks great, food was great and it was really convenient for pre-concert dining. This has been my go-to spot for years.
