MustangHarry’s underwent a $1.5M renovation in 2017, which expanded and transformed the entire venue with tufted leather banquets, reclaimed wood walls and nooks, and antique fixtures and skylights that capture the rustic charisma of post-industrial NYC with an Irish twist.
Initially, we were a bit nervous because they didn't have our reservation. So I showed them the confirmation email from open table, and we only waited maybe 5 minutes before getting a table. So that was really good. The place was really great. Food was good and it was packed. Unfortunately we had a show to get to, so we weren't able to really sit back and just take it all in. But I will definitely return.
Great place to hang out before any event at MSG! Great service and food and efficient!
We were here for a business lunch and had a great time with our lovely waitress. The service was quick, the restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated for the holidays, and the food was awesome! I had the french onion soup with garlic parm fries. I’ll definitely be back.
We had a great waitress. we were served with enough time to get to the show
Food was great and I would definitely go back. We sat in the back which is not as noisy as the front bar area.
Great food and Sharon are waitress was lovely
This dinner brought together family from four states to a very festive place in a great location near Penn Station. The food was very good and we highly recommend the lamb appetizer! The service was a bit snarky in response to questions, which we found surprising.
Simply the best pub in NYC! You are family when you are here...thank you for a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. See you soon
Had Thanksgiving here. My Turkey was amazing. I was wishing for more mashed potatoes. Kid Friendly, fast service, nicely decorated for the holidays.
Mustang Harry's food was surprisingly good. I guess I don't always expect a pub to have wonderful cuisine! Buffalo wings were pretty good. My short ribs were outstanding. The side of fava beans/peas/zucchini was tasteless and boring and undercooked. Our waitress was darling!
For a quick bite to eat before a show or game is perfect. Make sure you have reservations.
Mustang Harry's is a very lively, bustling restaurant. It's only a block away from MSG so it's a great place to go before an event there. We went before seeing Billy Joel and it was quite enjoyable. We both had burgers and they were delicious. I highly recommend and would definitely return.
Went there on a Wednesday night after seeing a broadway musical. Made a reservation for 8 on open table. When we got there we were greeted by a lovely hostess who welcomed us in and she had us in her system and we were seated immediately.
We went through the bar and were seated in the back where the dining area is. The whole vibe was casual cool with plenty of screens to catch any game. The decor was wood and metal and very well done.
Our server, Lisa, could not be more attentive and was spot on with her menu recommendations. We started with guacamole and loaded nachos for the table. Amazing. I had the braised short ribs on top of mashed potatoes and red cabbage. All I can say is that it cannot be described...it must be experienced! OMG! It was outstanding.
As we headed out every staff member we passed by said goodnight, thanks for coming by, hope to see you soon, and it was sincere and with a smile. That makes all the difference between a good place and a great place. That's what Mustang Harry's is...a great place!
If you're on the fence, just go. You won't be disappointed. And trust me on the short ribs!
Have been a loyal customer for almost three years now. Form entry at the front door being met met with a handshake and smile from L.uis, to the wait staff, every visit is great. Being a Rangers season ticket holder I dine here prior to every game. I have never been disappointed..
Great food and wait service
Very noisy so bring your mega horn
The place smelled like BO
Everything was very good. We got there about 5, so it was already getting crowded and noisy. Luckily we were seated in the back where it was a little bit quieter.
Good place to go if you are seeing a show at
The drinks, the food, the service was impeccable. I’ll definitely go back.
Great meeting spot near NYC Penn Station. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
Our visit was for a pre-MSG show dinner. Perfect location with a good menu for a casual meal. We had burgers, which were great and perfectly prepared and cooked to order. Our server was patient and on the ball and kept us in starters and drinks despite a heavy workload. Somewhat noisy, but not so much to hamper conversation. Prices were decent for NYC and location. We will visit again under similar circumstances.
Food was delicious, service and atmosphere were good but seating was very cramped. Had I been at a less cramped table, I would have rated the restaurant higher.
Large place that could accomodate our group of 10 before a game at the garden. They were very busy for brunch and should probably have more people working. We cut it too close with the reservation time, so i'm sure if you give yourself enough time, this is a fine place to go before a game. Very lively, lots of fans.
Great food and drinks.
Wonderful meal, vibe and service! Great dining experience.
This is a rustic but elegant place for drinks or dinner. The food was great but not as creative as I would have expected to match the eclectic atmosphere. Drinks were good but service was terrible. There's at least 2 bars with one serving our area of about 30 seats but only half were occupied. Drinks were very slow to get and server apologized a few times. I would go back gut because it was reasonable, good food and liked the vibe.
Great Quick service... on our way to “show”Thanks for taking care of Us🥰
Tasty Burgers !
Second time at Mustang Harry's and once again we had a great experience. The specialty drinks are very good, the menu is varied and all the dishes we had were tasty! Short walk from MSG and Penn Station.
Great server - charning women from Ireland. I love NY
We had reservations at Mustang Harry’s prior to a concert at Madison Square Garden. We have dined here many times prior to sports and other events at the Garden.
It was clear from the beginning that this would be a rushed experience. Our server took our drink and appetizer order quickly which we appreciated and the drinks and appetizers came very quickly. My wife got up to use the rest room right after the appetizer arrived and before she was back at the table, our dinner was delivered. Not only did that make us feel rushed, but the table was too small to fit all three dishes and our drinks.
We both ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fries. I had pesto fries, my wife truffle fries. It was clear the chicken cutlet was pre-cooked and reheated. Both sandwiches were charred on the outside and barely warm on the inside. The buns for the sandwiches were both cold as though they had just been taken out of a cooler. My fries were at best lukewarm and soggy.
Certainly not a great experience (which also happened to be a part of my birthday celebration from my wife). Will chalk it up to a bad night at what was clearly a very stressed restaurant (from the kitchen to the server). Hopefully the next visit is different.
Dinner before Phil Collins concert.
Had a reservation. Place was packed because of a Ranger game. Waited 30 minutes and not once did any staff even acknowledge us. Extremely noisy. Just left. Never again
From the front podium until our departure, everything was 5 Star. We were welcomed by host, owners and wait staff that have served us for the past three years. Our waiter Chris was great. Can’t say enough about how nice a place this is.
Took over an hour for a burger and chicken sandwich hot come out. Literally that’s all we ordered. Waitress was great .. not her fault at all.
Food was delicious, great energetic atmosphere. Will definitely be Back
Was looking for pre-concert meal that was kid friendly and close to MSG. Menu looked great online. Drinks were great, food was delicious and came out very fast. Service was attentive but not in your face. Great experience. We all left with full bellies and were pleased.
They were ready for us when we got there and seated us right away. Food was excellent, as was the service. Will return!
We love this place! Been many times, and the food, drinks and service never disappoint!
Birthday dinner before a concert
A little on the loud side but the food and service was amazing.
