This was my second dinning experience at The Mussle bar and grille. The mussels are fantastic and the portion is super size! The mushroom and bacon variety is delicious... I could drink the broth and it pairs well with the tasty bread or fries offered.

Although the portions are quite big, I do think it’s a bit over priced in general. the drinks/cocktails are meh (and cost $12/13), loads of beer — like 80+, so if you like to mix it up they got u covered.

Also, I ordered a cocktail towards the end of dinner but it never arrived at our table. Although I did pay for it... that was a bit disappointing.

Overall, great place to group up with a friend or two, catch up, eat/drink and relax. If you make a reservation, be sure to ask for a booth. The are high back and roomy so it gives you some privacy and a little reprieve from the noise level, which can be quite loud between 7-9p.

Food was delicious and service was great. Prices are a bit high (especially for beer/cocktails). We ended up splitting two appetizers and one pot of mussels, which was plenty of food and made the total pretty reasonable. Definitely recommend for a date night.

The mussels were abundant portion and very tasty. The half bucket option permits trying differently prepared mussels. The service was attentive and efficient.

First visit; great food and great time. Good music though a bit loud. Generous serving of mussels - you could share/supplement with other choices.

While I've said yes I'd recommend this restaurant, if I ever go back there I'm not ordering my appetizer and main course upfront: I've had it with restaurants that bring the main course while we're still eating starters! Could someone pls tell all restaurant managers in the DMV area that their staff must clear everyone's plates at the same time, wait at least 5 minutes few minutes so we can catch our breath BEFORE bringing the main course? And if someone is having mussels as a starter, well yes that does take a bit more time to eat so pls factor that in! I've lost count of the number of times main course plates have arrived while we were in the middle of starters and then plates had to be deposited unceremoniously in our laps, practically. Shameful for a supposedly sophisticated city.

Food and beverages were exceptional. Service was not impressive. Our waiter did not seem to enjoy being there.Friday night was loud near the bar making it difficult for conversation, though as expected. Would absolutely go back!

We had a booth next to us who was extremely loud, screaming every few minutes and ultimately banging on our partition - it was like a bunch if drunk college kids except they were 4 adults.

I always enjoy the muscle bar. The waiters are very knowledgeable about the beer selection and the food, of course. The atmosphere is good. Outdoor seating is great.

Met up with my grown kids for an early Saturday brunch. The mussels were fantastic (try them Mediterranean style) and we enjoyed the 'build your own mimosas'. My husband raved about the mushroom truffle soup, and everyone found something they liked on the menu. Service was friendly and competent. Parking easy with a parking garage just around the corner.

I had an Open Table gift certificate and chose to use it here, among all the restaurants available.

Mark, my server, was just outstanding. He is the most accommodating and knowledgeable server I have encountered in so many years of dining out. The owner of this chain of restaurants seems to handpick all these wonderful people to work for him (except for the one in Lock 72 in Potomac).

The food never disappoint also. Wanted to get the lobster roll, since I was hungry for one. Like the toasted bread along with the condiments added to the lobster. Then, you get three kinds of aioli to go with the the French fries. What a nice touch. The salad was fresh and nicely seasoned. Had the chocolate truffles tart for dessert. My, is that a rich one. Can be addicting.

Always a pleasurable experience to dine here.

Nice outdoor seating in Bethesda but a bit noisy being on a main street. Food was excellent - we both had different salads. The chairs outdoor were a bit uncomfortable, but overall, the experience was great. It is a bit pricey for lunch, because of the wine, but otherwise, is moderate.

The mussels were good and they have many preparations that I have not seen before. I'm looking forward to going back and trying some of the other ones. The Oysters, on the other hand, are average at best. The only thing I can say about the oysters are they are aren't bad...but don't order them. The burger & fries were good.

The best part of the experience was the service - effective and friendly without being even close to going overboard.

Great selection of mussel dishes and the food is very tasty. As far as service, I don't know if our waiter was having a bad day or if he generally doesn't like to be there on a Saturday serving other people while they are trying to have a good time, but he was terrible. Other than that, the food was delicious.

The food is always good here. The service is inconsistent, but when it's good (as it was on my recent visit), it's great. It's loud, so don't plan on quiet conversation. A good place to go Witt a group.

Food was good (especially the salads) and the overall experience was fine. However, our server was pretty much MIA most of the time. The only reason I didn't give the service a 1 or 0 star rating was because there were other severs who were happy to help whenever we needed something like silverware (our waitress never gave us any to start with), water refills, etc. Not sure if the service was impacted by the fact that it is restaurant week, but it was a bit annoying nonetheless. But otherwise the experience was good.

The pan-roasted chicken with carrots and a gruyere potato cake were fantastic, followed by excellent ice cream (big scoops!) made in-house. Too noisy for easy conversation, but the food and service will bring us back when in Bethesda.
