Good food. Great beer. Great service. Fun all around.
Wonderful place! We really enjoyed our Saturday night out to Mussel Bar & Grille. It was our first visit and the place was busy. We were seated at a table versus one of the perimeter booths. The tables are close, but did not feel my personal space was infringed on. The seats are hard as a rock and a little uncomfortable; but as soon as food comes you forget.
Our server Steve was fine and quickly took drink orders and listed the specials. A ton of beer choices are available. We ordered the grilled calamari and Brussels Sprouts for starters. Both were amazing and I really loved the Brussel Sprouts. The food was served HOT like it was just off the grill.
During March, they have a March Madness special of All You Can Eat mussels. We did not think we could do that so we ordered regular portions of the Mediterranean. This has really great mergquez sausage and goat cheese in the sauce. You just can’t find the words to describe how much I enjoyed this... seriously good. It is a huge portion and I ate all of it.
BTW- Next to us was a young lady who was someone ordered the All You Can Eat and she shockingly ate 3 portions of multiple versions. On one had I was shocked and the other hand, I was very jealous I couldn’t eat that many because they are just that good!
The food was delicious, you get a lot of mussels for your $. Easy to share one order for 2 people. Lobster Bisque was delicious!
This place has the best calamari I’ve ever had! The mussels in garlic wine broth is my favorite dish.
Excellent Mussel as always! Server was very nice. We arrived 15 minutes early and was seated 18 minutes later. A few tables were available when we arrived for 4 and 8 but we were only two. Their selection of drafts always excellent!!! The venue and atmosphere was perfect for a date night out.
Had the special rock fish with hot collard greens with bacon - excellent. My wife had the salmon salad - the salmon was cooked perfectly, but the salad had too much cilantro and not enough lettuce.
Overall good experience. loved the food and service. I would definitely come back.
Good food came back! Thanks guys!
While the food was great the seating leaves a lot to be desired, people keep cutting in between the seats and my seat was being hit by other customers and employees constantly. The tables are small and stack on top of each other.
Amazing beer selection with staff that was very helpful in finding you the perfect beer. Recommend- Thai mussels !!!
What more do you need out of a restaurant!
The signature mussels in the white wine sauce with the equally signature truffle fries are just divine here! If you want a special kick, add mushrooms and bacon. For those who love beers, there is a crazy selection from many countries. And not to forget, the service is great!
Valentines with my kids
Food was excellent. A must stop every time I am in town for business.
We went for All You Can Eat Mussel Special 2/13/2018. Mussels were bland (White Wine). Tried the Provencal which were a little more flavorful. Kind of disappointing given the name of the restaurant.
A friend and I have a standing lunch a couple of times per month at Mussel Bar and we are never disappointed! In fact, we keep returning to mussel bar despite a ton of other restaurants in the area, because the service is fantastic (if you are lucky enough to have Roxie as your server- thumbs up, she’s knowledgeable and really friendly) and the food is excellent- quick and delish! The white wine mussels and fries are awesome and so are the burgers and pizza. Mussel Bar is a great place to come for an early lunch (not too crowded or loud-just before the lunch rush)! Finally, the music is always good- mid-80’s, some eagles and Grateful Dead- a great mix. Highly recommend!
Food was delicious as always. High quality, well-prepared and perfect portion size (not too small but not overwhelmingly large). This is one of our favorite casual "date" spots. Our server was wonderful and offered a few good suggestions.
Mussels and oyster were good. Food was great. Tight space and loud being so close to next table. Service was okay. Nothing outstanding but not bad. Good place that could use some more space.
Place that you won't forget, Mediterranean Mussels that you will never forget
Consistently good! Great service excellent beer selection and the quality of the food is superb. One of our favorite spots.
Delicious food, the curry mussels were fantastic. It’s loud so there were lots of laughs everywhere and 80s music that my teenager enjoyed. We loved it.
My second visit to this restaurant and the food and service are excellent. The dish I wanted had a spicy flavoring and since I can't tolerate spicy foods I asked them to tone it down, which they did. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys fine seafood.
Roxie, our waitress was really great. She knew the menu and was able to guide our choices. The food was pretty good. Great pomme frites! Please shave slice the beets in the beet salad! Had a grapefruit crush. Tasty!
Trying a new restaurant during Restaurant week - good food & service - would go back
The manager got in my face and yelled at me when I asked about the special on the website. :(
found this gem on open table. was looking for a restaurant to take my son while dropping him off to college. extensive beer list. delicious food. great ambiance! have been recommending it to all we know that visit the area. great vibe!
My server was great. She apologized for our drinks when they took long. The food was great and on time.
Convenient place for family dinner with 8-yo kid. Moreover if you like mussels and Belgium beer - both were good. Tuna tartare was good as well as crusty pizza taken by my son
Best restaurant meal anywhere ever. Went at lunchtime. Beet salad was well constructed and super tasty. The mussels were perfectly cooked and delicious. Added fries for $1. Beef stroganoff was amazing. Not enough superlatives for experience. Go and enjoy a great lunch.
Great lunch. But Stomach upset after. May have been the salad. Should let restaurant know.
Went here for my boyfriend's birthday. I requested a booth per some recommendations and they were able to accommodate us. We didn't get the mussels because they aren't my boyfriends thing, though I've had them before and they are awesome. We had a salmon salad and a flatbread pizza, both were really good. If you want an eclectic beer selection- this is the place to go. My only disappointment was the service. We waited for our second drinks and to get the check.
So impressed with the service - awesome hospitality. Great place if you're looking for a specialty beer, they have something like 150 different varieties and the bartenders are really knowledgeable about them. This is a pricey place, just be aware. We really enjoyed it!
Excellent food and service at great prices. We’ve been here many times and will continue to return.
We had the slowest and most forgetful waiter. Unfortunate experience but the mussels were fantastic.
The Mussel bar is a favorite for us. Tonight the food was delicious as usual, and we appreciated the service although we met 3 servers. Apparently they were understaffed -We ended up dining in the bar which was a bit too bright. Seemed brighter that usual which diminishes the ambiance for us.
Overall, great food and service as usual which is wonderful to count on.
Very enjoyable. Great staff. Good food. Calamari appetizer was pretty amazing.
Had the same items I had the last time I was there. Not same quality. Is it because line cooks were doing the cooking, and their talented chef wasn't? I won't eat oversalted food. Had to send the French fries back. Replacement was a bit soggy. Disappointing.
Although what I'd seen online for the lunch menu was not available at the restaurant, I ordered the Avocado Endive Salad and it was AMAZING. I got salmon with it also, which was slightly overdone but nicely seasoned. Service was great, place was quiet enough for a conversation (Monday at noon), and even my parents were impressed. I think. LOL. I'd definitely go back!
Our waiter, Kevin, was excellent and really made the night.
This was my second dinning experience at The Mussle bar and grille. The mussels are fantastic and the portion is super size! The mushroom and bacon variety is delicious... I could drink the broth and it pairs well with the tasty bread or fries offered.
Although the portions are quite big, I do think it’s a bit over priced in general. the drinks/cocktails are meh (and cost $12/13), loads of beer — like 80+, so if you like to mix it up they got u covered.
Also, I ordered a cocktail towards the end of dinner but it never arrived at our table. Although I did pay for it... that was a bit disappointing.
Overall, great place to group up with a friend or two, catch up, eat/drink and relax. If you make a reservation, be sure to ask for a booth. The are high back and roomy so it gives you some privacy and a little reprieve from the noise level, which can be quite loud between 7-9p.
