We made a reservation on Open Table but when we got there were told they weren't serving dinner. We had to wait 30 minutes. We had a drink but the draft list was not up to date so we both got the wrong order. When dinner started, they only had 2 salad selections and neither were great options. We had mussels and the octopus. While they were good, overpriced and the service was sub par. Won't be coming back.
Was busy and service from the bar was slow. Food tasted great.
I would go back to Mussel Bar. Service, ambiance, food were all good. The mussels with mushrooms and bacon was the winner; the classic wine/garlic was under-salted. The creme brulee was very good, but the chocolate mousse dessert was gummy, rather than fluffy. Needs some work. All in all, an enjoyable evening, good vibes, spacious, not too noisy.
Waiter was unable to deliver a beer in half an hour and mixed up the dinner and appetizer order. Manager intervened and fixed it. This was our third time at this restaurant; the first two visits were far better
Enjoyed the white wine mussels and fries.
Good food, good service. Music was a bit too loud - had to raise voice to be heard.
well-executed bistro-style food, good service: eaten there quite a few times & always enjoy.
Ordered from the brunch menu. Tasty, generously proportioned, and good value for the money spent. Attentive service.
We had brunch for my birthday. We made reservations but it wasn't very busy. I had the mussels with the lemon and garlic. It was cooked perfectly but several of my mussels had grit in them. Other than that the service was great. They were attentive, the restaurant was clean and it was quiet and relaxing.
We went specifically for the mussels. It’s what both couples wanted for our double date and two of us had been there previously and made the recommendation. The mussels were really disappointing. The actual mussels were fine size etc but the broth really was terrible. We all had the simple wine/garlic broth so should have been a specialty and simple but we all agreed it was tasteless. The server did not even ask how is everything otherwise we would have certainly told him.
Got a Valentine's Day rez only a few days before so I was not surprised to be seated right next to the busy open kitchen area. We shared the large cheese and charcuterie plate and the Thai curry mussels and this was the perfect amount of food for the both of us. The mussels were perfectly cooked and a wonderful texture - too often they are mushy but these were excellent - and the broth was so good. The meat and cheese tray had a nice selection and the pear puree had a lovely flavor. We drink tequila neat and there were not a huge number of tequila options, but we were content with our Espolón silver. It was a little loud, but it was packed for Valentine's Day. We'll definitely go back!
Everything was great, mussels, drinks, service.
Only negative comment: The AC was blasting cold air which chilled our food too soon. We also had to keep our coats on. Please regulate indoor temp. more consciously.
Literally the worst filet I ever had. I dont understand how a filet was that chewy. I couldnt even eat it.
Came for seafood. Open Table shows special menu items under raw bar. Disappointed that menu and app didn’t match.
Convenient. Excellent ambiance. Quality service and superb cuisine! Recomend everyone should eat here at least once.
This was not the first time at Mussel and enjoyed it even more. Foodxx VC was excellent and service super from Mat and Jeremy. Next time, however we will not sit next to entrance to avoid cold draft
The waitress was professional but the food delivery was slow and the food not impressive. The host seemed not to have a handle on the floor and communicated poorly: we waited several minutes to be seated when the restaurant was half empty when the reality was they were seating us in a booth that needed to be cleaned. And when they gave us the ticket to validate our parking, we discovered a few minutes later in the garage it had already expired.
Delicious. Went here for hubby who loves mussels. He had two kinds of mussels he loved them so much! I used to live near Penn Cove and the freshness of the mussels was still on point here in Arlington. Drink menu was good, but bartender didn't know how to make several drinks on the menu and it showed. As in, he wanted to watch me drink it, which was weird. There were some unfortunate substitutions on the menu that night, but I had the risotto and it was amazing, really really good. Didn't do dessert because dinner was already ridiculously expensive for two of us, but enjoyed the night out. Seemed to have great happy hour specials, food and drink, and drink happy hour went late at the bar. I'll be back for sure.
Perfect neighborhood restaurant / bar for any occasion.
Our server was so great! He recommended great food (mussels) and brought out fresh bread frequently to eat with the sauce. At the end of the meal he told us the best days for deals to come in if we wanted to go back. 10/10 would go back!
I surprisingly very good meal from start to finish. Service was super slow but it was New Year’s Eve so it was expected. The ambience is very loud. But overall it was a really good meal
My friends and I had a great time celebrating a birthday and the new year. There were some issues at the bar which lead to a wait for drinks, but our waiter was very open and filled us in so that we didn’t feel like we were forgotten. Everyone got something different and we all loved our meals. I enjoyed the west coast oysters that tasted so fresh and indulgent. Overall, we had a wonderful night and can’t wait to go back.
Quiet. Restaurant almost empty. Perfect setting for meeting old friends. Mussels were delicious. The hamburger huge an dc c poked to order. Service impeccable.
There was a mistake and a bit of a delay with a couple of our orders (we were a party of 8) but our server and manger worked hard to make it right. The food was delicious and we will definitely return again!
They were out of the beer I ordered. When the waiter came back to tell me, he didn’t have a recommendation. They have a large beer selection and I think the staff should be able to offer a recommendation when they’re out of something that is on the menu.
Food was incredible!
Food was great, service not. Had to ask three times for water, four times for bread. We had our three year old and one year old and they forgot the three years pizza. Previous times have had great service, and they understood need to get out quickly for little people, here they forgot about the little people and big people.
John was our server and he went above and beyond.
Great food and fun time!!! Was a little disappointed that the draft beers I wanted were out but the waiter’s recommendations were fantastic.
We had a nice table for our party of eight, near a window and away from other parties; service was attentive and food was good!
My favorite restaurant ever!!!
The mussels were fresh and delicious as were the drinks and staff! We will be going back.
Mark and John took phenomenal care of us. Three generations were at the table celebrating and they managed to keep everyone happy - not an easy task with large groups! Service was quick and friendly. Food was great.
Excellent advice from the sommelier! Very enjoyable
Once again, a restaurant with no acoustics. Thank goodness we went late and it wasn’t too bad. The mussels were great and the truffle fries also.
Really nice vibe and great selection of seafood. The mussels are a must. Fun cocktail selection and decent wine list.
Henry was very kind and patient.
The west coast oysters are delicious but a bit pricey! The Wednesday special 1/2 price wine bottle made up for it! Mussels are always good. Will be back with the gift card promotion $100 for $130!
Absolutely delicious and prepared with care. We all ordered the fixed price restaurant week menu and it was top notch. The chef is wonderful. Every single thing we ordered was fantastic. Very reasonably-priced for the quality of food.
