Muss & Turner's - Smyrna Ratings and Reviews
Amazing New Years day brunch! The food was out of this world (as is always the case when we dine here). Only confusion, since they are normally not a buffet, was whom our server was and how to order drinks and get our bill. We had to hunt someone down. But overall great experience and we would highly recommend.
We enjoyed a New Year's Eve dinner. The Kung Pau Beef with Brussel sprouts was amazing. My husband and I like to eat in Eleanor's for special occasions. We appreciate the candlelight and they have a great wine and cocktail selection. This was our third visit and the food has always been top notch. We feel it is a good value as well.
Muss and Turner's is my absolute favorite restaurant. The service is without equal. The menu is creative and very well executed. The environment is inviting and hospitable. Many of the best meals I have ever had were at Muss and Turner's.
If I were to open my own restaurant, I would just copy everthing Muss and Turner's does.
Best restaurant in Atlanta.
The burger was great, slightly over priced but great service and a nice casual atmosphere. Would be great for a date night or family dinner. If you want something a little more special walk through the freezer door to the speak easy in the back. Great drink options and cool atmosphere.
The service here is always good - friendly and helpful. Our waiter suggested we try a salmon spread they had - raved about it. I'm not normally a salmon fan, but decided to give it a go. It was so incredibly delicious! I could have made a dinner out of that and a salad. I had the swordfish schnitzel and my husband had the rabbit and dumplings. Both were very good. I love this restaurant because they always have something creative and tasty on the menu. And the easygoing, laid back atmosphere is perfect for us.
We went to the Santa brunch and the brunch buffet was delicious. The variety was great and the food was excellent. You had to make reservations for this event and it wasn't crowded and there was no waiting. You met Santa next door and they had a photographer there. They asked you to meet Santa and then come to be seated. We would have arrived earlier if we would have realized. It was a fun event.
The noise level was a big deterrent to conversation- we almost had to yell to hear at our table for 4. There is nothing in that main dining area to absorb sound. We should have asked to sit outside....might have been better there.
Our server was super- she was very informative and helpful- great personality.
Our server was helpful but was stretched too thin between tables so service was slow. The cocktails were good but not great. We shared a seasonal plum salad that was the highlight of the meal. Entrees were just average and the desserts both the goat cheesecake and the carrot cake were a disappointment. Our server tried to salvage the desserts by offering another which we declined. She sent us home with a cookie which my husband said was good. Although the overall experience was pleasant I would not return nor would I recommend to friends.
We always love coming here for dinner and seeing what's new each season. Muss & Turner's seems to do fall really well and creatively, with deep, earthy flavors such as cocoa pasta, root vegetables, duck leg confit, etc. Currently, they're running a very nice pecan pie for dessert along with some of the more run-of-the-mill regular selections. Fairly small draft beer selection, but always interesting and local finds (there's a pretty robust can / bottle list).
Went back to try acclaimed burgers again after a very disappointing first experience, when they arrived overcooked and dry. My husband's was perfect, mine was overcooked again. Salad was great, and they split it up for us to share. Drinks good also. Sat in the more romantic and dimly lit Eleanor's in the back, but within a short amount of time, it had filled up with lots of very loud singles. Kind of put the nail in the coffin for the nice date night out. All we could hear was loud laughter and voices all around us, so no, we probably won't be back for that. Sure wish there was a great local place with good food and great atmosphere so you could stay close by home when you wanted to.
Muss & Turner's needs to get the A/C situation figured out in the main dining room. Was uncomfortably warm in there throughout the meal. Would not recommend going on days/nights when it's super hot outside.
Part of the menu was also hard to decipher. Outside of what was clearly marked a Burger/Sandwich one entire side of the menu was just a list of dishes. It wasn't until I asked that the waitress told us that some of the dishes were smaller and meant for sharing and others were larger entree size. Menus should be easy to read and understand. Should have to ask for an explanation of what is what.
