Nice waitress, Food was mediocre, chicken wings undercooked, cold mac & cheese, cold tasteless corn muffin, banana pudding was the highlight, popcorn dessert not good at all
Hard to rate.... First off the menu listed on Open Table is NOT the menu they offer for dinner. When I asked about this menu they said that was over 8 months old. Their current menu is pretty disappointing compared to the one posted. But we already committed so we figured we would make the best of it. Our server was very nice, but it was a Saturday night and they had one bartender and one server, no host, no food runner, no busser. This is a combination a former server would have nightmares about. These two people were running their butts off, so I cannot fault them for the extremely slow service, but that's because they literally had no help. From reading other reviews this seems to be a common occurrence. When we did finally get our food, I was surprised how big the portions were compared to the price. Especially the Crab toast, which was really good. I would say that the food overall was okay, I was not wowed by the menu, especially when I was expecting something totally different. I think Brunch may be a better time to come, but I don't think we will be back.
Muse was recommended to us so we decided to check it out for brunch!
Started with the Kir Royale. Lovely taste. Not sweet.
For brunch I had the avocado toast that has the Greek yogurt- WOW!! Great flavors combined together!! I have never had avocado toast served this way!! Outstanding!
My husband had the French scramble with bacon. Loved the eggs and said the bacon was cooked perfectly. I don’t eat meat so I would know, but he does. He gave it an outstanding as well!!
Great food! Great service!! Lovely ambiance!!!
Go to MUSE FOR BRUNCH!
Everything was wonderful! Tried both sangrias. Really loved the peach one, but the red was good also. My husband loved his chai Manhattan and his burger. I had the strawberry salad and the sea bass. I had to take half of my entree as leftovers, and enjoyed splitting it with my husband the next day for lunch.
Wonderful meal I will long remember. I recommend the meatloaf!
Food and service was great! Very yummy! For a farm to table restaurant the pink and grey doesn’t read the concept well. Bring more plants and less silver sparkle.
The food was creative and very delicious. We will definitely go again, lived it!
The food tasted amazing. However, we had to send it back because we found a few hairs in the salad and the eggs were still raw (most of the white was still clear).
Great menu and service! We shared the Muse Burger, Cyprus Grain Salad, and Roasted Butternut Fries. Everything was flavorful and delicious!
We had a party of eight and the service was perfect. We all had different meals and everyone was pleased. It was a hot night and the people who were sitting near the window said that it was a bit warm there. And the wine drinkers thought that the wine prices were a bit high.
Food was great along with good service. Wasn’t very crowed for Thursday which was nice. The burger was fantastic.
The service was excellent and food was out of this world. The oysters were super fresh and the mushroom pizza was incredible. What a gem. We had a party of four and everyone was super impressed!
Great food. Very gourmet and well thought out. Delicious versions of favorites we couldn’t make at home. Wonderful veggie burger and vegan Mac n cheese. The salad, was the best I’ve ever had. Better than Deweys!
Great food selection and service.
Cool place with simple but good food. It was quiet the night we went but wine was 1/2 price.
Staff were great and very friendly.
Farm to table. Nice change.
I have been to Muse three times now. The first time was for brunch when it first took over Nectar’s old spot and it was lovely! So we decided to go try their dinner, which I’m sorry to say was not good at all. Went again today for brunch for father’s day as brunch had been good in the past. The food was pretty good, but it took an hour to get anything to eat and another 45 minutes to get a dish I had ordered to take home for someone. The ambiance is really nice and fairly quiet, so easy to have a conversation, but I’m not sure the food is worth the wait time. If you have loads of time to spare and aren’t too hungry it’s okay, but otherwise you’d need to pick a different option.
The burger was amazing. Mahi mahi tacos were very tasty. Vegan Mac and cheese was average. Sangria ok. The service was excellent. The ambience needs some work, very quiet and a little dull. Needs music or something to make it more lively especially as the bar is very cute and inviting.
I love Muse! Great ambience, food and service!
My friend warned me about this place but I’m always open to trying something new. When this place was Nectar it was delicious and really a leader in the area using local and seasonal foods. This place is simply a disappointment. I hope the owner reads these reviews and considers getting a chef in there that understands the wonderful complexity of food. It’s not enough to source food mindfully, you also need to be able to understand the nuances and special pairings that make the experience of food worth paying attention to.
It was perfectly fine. The food was of great portion given that my wife and I like to eat healthy and not feel as if we are consuming large quantities of food. We sampled an entree an appetizer and a small side salad, so there was plenty of options for us. Two of our adult children are vegan and one is gluten free, so we wanted to give Muse a try to see if it was something we would recommend to them when they were in town. I would certainly recommend the restaurant as a decent to good meal. But, we are growing increasingly irritated by the parking situation in Mt Lookout on weekends. We were a good 15 minutes late for our reservation trying to find a place to park. It's never good to show up to a casual, relaxing date night already annoyed because of something silly like parking. But, it sort of set the mood for the entire experience.
Exceptional locally sourced foods turned into exquisite and enterprising meals. Service attentive and superb. One can have a good conversation with friends here without needing a hearing aid or pretending to hear above a din.
Food and service were amazing!
Drinks were delicious. Unfortunately, the live singing was much too loud (both of us had a headache within a few minutes). If they want to continue with live music, they should consider not using speakers. We plan on going back in the future to give the restaurant another try. Just hopefully a more quiet experience
Nice spot for mother's day, but nothing done special. Tasty food and unqiue dishes. Service could be improved.
This was our first and last visit to Muse. Bad food. Really awful.
Spinach salad was excellent. Shrimp and grits were good for Cincinnati. Chicken and accompanying greens were a disappointment. Chicken dry, greens too hot/spicy to eat.
Fresh flavors, fresh ingredients...this is a local treasure with a neighborhood vibe and yet a very sophisticated menu and wine list.
I love love love this place! I will definately return. Excellent service, excellent food, excellent atmosphere. Fresh food, smiling faces, and yummy drinks. We did brunch; will do dinner next.
Food was excellent! Service was pleasant but slow, particularly for lunch.
I had a business lunch at Muse. Nice ambiance. just a few people dining - wondered why. This was my first time, so was a bit worried - food? service? Well, no need to worry. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was very good - tasty, healthful and creative. More people should try it.
We LOVED the food here! The butternut squash fries were seasoned and had a little kick, and the butternut squash soup was thick and delicious. The meatloaf was wrapped in bacon with a hoison sauce that really added interesting flavor. The creamed cauliflower was the best I've had. It's a cozy, elegant space on Mt Lookout square. Parking is a challenge, but worth it.
Wonderful experience, great choices, attentive service. We were table of five with varied items. THANK YOU for the vegan vegetarian gluten free options and noting them! We love local, and will be back - casually at bar and also with dinner guests.
My friend ordered the Meatloaf. Once the dish arrived, he realized the meatloaf included pork. The menu does not state that pork is in the meatloaf. The owner of the restaurant was kind enough to come out to apologize for the confusion. Very kind, caring and considerate. The food alone would make me return. The owner's kindness was the 'icing on the cake'.
The dining room was a very cold. My tomato bisque taste like marinara sauce. We had planned on staying for dinner, but we left after appetizers and drinks due to the atmosphere. Though the server was delightful and we appreciated her help.
Food was alright. The service was horrible. We did a three course meal for restaurant week and each course was extremely slow coming out. Our server didn’t ever check on us for drinks or anything else we may have needed and when she did come around she would start to walk away before she asked if we needed anything else and we would have to catch her. Everyone in the place looked frustrated and underserved. I would never go back.
Slow service - only one server for the whole restaurant.
The food had a bad flavor. The service was mediocre considering how few people were there. I won’t be back.
Great place for a dinner with friends. Excellent food with a menu that changes frequently. Had the fish & chips - great with their homemade tartar sauce.
Muse should use the quieter music for the dining area. Even our server couldn't hear what we were asking.
Delicious! Excellent options for vegetarians and omnivores alike! Great portions and pricing. We will be going again!
