Food was great but it took a long time to come out
My Irish guy says the corned beef and colcannon are legit, best he's ever had. That keeps us coming back to spend St. Patrick's Day at Murphy's. Add a great table on the patio and live Irish music to the mix and you've got a winner!
Murphy's, as usual, was great in most respects. My family and I have been going there since Tom Murphy's previous location (nearby) at least 25 years ago. It is an Atlanta gem and we have celebrated many special occasions and non-special occasions there. My only complaint about this visit is that after we were seated at a requested (window) table (reserved well in advance through Open Table), they opened large glass doors to the outside (just inches from us). This brought in uncomfortably cool outside air. When I asked that the doors be closed again, they refused to do so. They did offer to move us to a dark place farther in, but my reservation had specified window seats if available and I did not want to move to a dark corner. This was my only complaint and I still don't understand why the doors (which were closed when we were seated) could not remain closed and keep me and my guest (and perhaps others) more comfortable. The service was attentive, as usual, and the food fairly good. I made the mistake of ordering from the special St. Patrick's Day menu and had overly salty corned beef. My guest had the Guinness beef from the regular menu and that is what I will order next time. The tortilla soup was delicious, as was the special bread pudding for dessert.
Great service and food. The $1 giant cookies by the door are always a favorite when we are leaving.
Everything at Murphy's was absolutely perfect and delicious! It was great for me to celebrate my birthday with my husband.
The server wasn't very attentive...took him sometime to come back to the table.
Murphy's never disappoints! the service, ambiance and food is always delightful.
First time going to Murphy's and really enjoyed the brunch. The occasion was my birthday. There was valet parking for $2.00 which is not bad at all. The service was very good & food was very tasty. I will definitely go again & highly recommend this place to anyone that's tired of eating at the same places over and over. Murphy's was very refreshing and shabby chic!
Took my husband here for his birthday. He expressed how tasty the food was over and over again...
My shrimp and grits was bland and sloppily made. The server was cool not as attentive but nice guy
small brunch menu, but filled with delicious options w lots of variety. only negative feedback is the area related to parking.
Wonderful experience. Food was great for the price point.
Food and service are always excellent. Our meal to celebrate two birthdays was great. Jarvis, our waiter, provided an EXCELLENT dining experience. Kudos to him!
We both had the evening specials - Grouper over risotto , and Strip steak with roasted potato and greens. Simply delicious! We started with the Mussels, which kicked off the evening. The white sauce was terrific for dipping (bread). Neighborhood gem!
Nice classic american cuisine. Good products, faire Price.
Saturday night 7:30, party of six. It was lots of fun and very good!
Food was outstanding, as usual. Sat outside on a beautiful day looking out on the people traffic in the Highlands. Had a bad glass of wine though. Not sure if I just chose poorly or if it was a bad bottle. I drank very little and re-ordered a glass of a different wine (which was great) and the waitress never once questioned the nearly full glass which sat there the entire dinner. Seemed a bit odd.
Love this place. Never gets old
The food was great. It was such a pleasure to eat outside on a warm day in February!! Our server was attentive and very pleasant!
Great food and service. Had the brisket and it was really good.
Murphy's has really excellent food and service. Always a pleasure to go there. Mondays they have half price bottles of wine too.
The food was average. Expected a bit more high quality food given the prices. The server was great.
Excellent food and drinks! Only complaint was the noise level which made it difficult to have a conversation(we were seated next to several large parties who were very loud). But the food is worth going back.
Great food great service.
Never felt rushed.
Our waiter was very attentive and very knowledgeable
Overall a great experience.
Great lunch time place - buzzy ambience. Wait staff friendly and helpful. Recommend it and will be back!
Murphy's is a Virginia Highland Classic that always delivers both quality food but as equally importantly an authentic neighborhood environment. Love this place.
Fun Valentine’s Day dinner. Murphy’s doesn’t disappoint.
Second year in a row we have chosen Murphy’s as our Valentine’s Day destination
Valentines dinner which was great. Food was outstanding as was the service. We had not been to Murphy’s in awhile and were reminded of how good it has always been. We will be back.
Awesome service, food excellent. Pricing good. Good night and we will return.
For the first time in 24 years, all three persons at my table were extremely disappointed. I tried the salmon with the sticky rice and the fish tasted bad. It was very fishy and not very tasty. My friend who got the chicken dish which I usually get every single time I go to Murphy’s did not taste the way it normally does. The appearance wasn’t the same either. The whole dish looked very brown. One of the guests got the hamburger which was over cooked. All of the waitstaff were very nice and polite, but we had to ask 3 times for catsup/mayonnaise. I am assuming it was just an off night for you guys and I will definitely go back since it is my favorite restaurant in Atlanta and has been for 24 yrs. I have been living in Florida now for two years unfortunately and when I come to Atlanta I often want to go to Murphy’s which is at least once every two or three months. I just thought you would want to know about the experience the three of us had as they, too are also frequent Murphy’s customers. Also, the squash bowls are no substitute for pasta. You used to have a pasta dish every night not just Sundays… We should bring that back
It was lively today. We enjoyed our food, our drinks, and the overall ambiance. We'll definitely be back again soon!
A group of 6 went for a chef-inspired wine tasting dinner. It was simply fantastic.
Loved everything but the required valet parking. Xoxo
Great atmosphere, good food, yummy drinks, can’t wait to go again.
The food was great, the kitchen was a little slow, they offered us a free dessert for the slow kitchen but didn't follow up on that promise. Overall, would recommend and go back, food is good.
Nice. Everything was great except my filet was under cooked. The waiter said they usually prepare their steaks medium rare. And asked if that was OK.
I responded that I would like mine medium but it was still medium rare. Next time I’ll stress Medium. Still delicious.
We had a great time and great food. Prices were not crazy especially with the service provided.
Candice was fantastic and delivered excellent service at all levels. All her recommendations from wine to food were right on point. Great wine selection and amazing choices by the glass (bottles are always a better value if drinking more than two glasses). The food was fantastic. The braised pork shank special just fell off the bone without any effort. I’ve dined all over the world and lived all over the US. Murphy’s is one of my favorite ATL spots.
