Solid food, good service. Extra perk that they are open at lunch when you want to grab a bite with kids and be it real plated food rather than tacos or burgers. The calamari (appetizer) and the chicken fingers were both delicious. The chicken fingers were really big slices of chicken, panko crusted, nice and juicy and absolutely juicy. The special was lamb on eggplant and kale with blueberry sauce. I will admit that it was nice but I wouldn't have known it was lamb vs. any other very tender steak (which might be a plus for other diners). The trout with lentils was also a solid plate, but very "southern". You will not find a finesse in execution here nor anything particularly creative, but the food is good and the prices not outrageous.
Murpheys has lost it. Noise was very high. First burger for me in months and was disappointingly tasteless. Pal's was rare even though ordered MWell . Fries were frozen, bland and straight from some national food purveyor. Both of us said we Won't go back, after being longgggg term fans. So many local fresh options in ATL--what Murpheys used to be.
The food was good, the service (Frank) was good, the wine was excellent. I only gave it three stars, however, because there were so many things on the menu that were unavailable (the salmon entree and the calimari appetizer). And we were there at 6:00 pm so they shouldn't have run out of anything yet! Not only that, but we weren't told what dishes were unavailable until after we'd ordered them and the waiter had gone away. A bit frustrating. I felt bad for Frank the waiter, you could tell he was embarrased about it.
A friend and I met for my Birthday Brunch after a failed attempt at another restaurant. They had a significant wait time, but thank goodness for open table! We were sat sooner than expected. I got a white mocha latte from the bar while waiting and it was everything! Our server was fairly new and did not know the menu very well, but he was courteous and what he did not know, he was able to confirm with his colleagues. Our food was outstanding. Service was amazing as usual. We ordered a French 75 beverage, which I cannot give great reviews on, it didn't taste like anything I've had in the past.
Food was wonderful and service was great. Hope to come back soon
Special tonight was sea scallops with greens and goat cheese polenta. Delicious. Scallops were done to perfection.
Food was average. Main course arrived at the table less than a minute after the bread had arrived.
I have been going to Murphy's for over twenty years and it has been one of my favorite Atlanta restaurants. However, lately, they seems to be cramming large parties in, the noise is deafening and the service slow and inadequate. The actual food, when you finally get it, it generally quite good.
Great spot for a business lunch. Enough room between tables to comfortably sit and know that your conversation is relatively private. Good food and great service. I’ll be back.
As always, wonderful service and food. The ambiance always feels like I’m in the home of a good friend.
