Murpheys has lost it. Noise was very high. First burger for me in months and was disappointingly tasteless. Pal's was rare even though ordered MWell . Fries were frozen, bland and straight from some national food purveyor. Both of us said we Won't go back, after being longgggg term fans. So many local fresh options in ATL--what Murpheys used to be.

The food was good, the service (Frank) was good, the wine was excellent. I only gave it three stars, however, because there were so many things on the menu that were unavailable (the salmon entree and the calimari appetizer). And we were there at 6:00 pm so they shouldn't have run out of anything yet! Not only that, but we weren't told what dishes were unavailable until after we'd ordered them and the waiter had gone away. A bit frustrating. I felt bad for Frank the waiter, you could tell he was embarrased about it.

A friend and I met for my Birthday Brunch after a failed attempt at another restaurant. They had a significant wait time, but thank goodness for open table! We were sat sooner than expected. I got a white mocha latte from the bar while waiting and it was everything! Our server was fairly new and did not know the menu very well, but he was courteous and what he did not know, he was able to confirm with his colleagues. Our food was outstanding. Service was amazing as usual. We ordered a French 75 beverage, which I cannot give great reviews on, it didn't taste like anything I've had in the past.

I have been going to Murphy's for over twenty years and it has been one of my favorite Atlanta restaurants. However, lately, they seems to be cramming large parties in, the noise is deafening and the service slow and inadequate. The actual food, when you finally get it, it generally quite good.

Great spot for a business lunch. Enough room between tables to comfortably sit and know that your conversation is relatively private. Good food and great service. I’ll be back.

I met a girlfriend here for dinner and asked to have birthday cake for her. I did not even have to remind them. They took care of everything and brought out a sampler dessert plate.

Everything was excellent. I highly recommend Murphy's plus there is great shopping and other things to do in the area before or after eating at Murphy's .

We had mussels and a cheese plate to start with a bottle of Demarie Nebbiolo/Barolo. Entrees were seared tuna salad, spinach/sausage meatloaf and the brisket. All were delicious and well prepared and presented. Service was excellent as always. With an average entre price (seared tuna salad was not really an entree but my vegetarian daughter loved it) of $20 and a fair price ($44) for a good bottle of wine, Murphy’s is very reasonably priced considering the atmosphere, excellent service and terrific food.

Main entree came out 2 minutes after appetizer so we didn’t really have time to enjoy it. This also made the table crowded and we had to give the candle and S & P to the server to make room. If our comments on timing weren’t a clue to her this should have been. The rest of the time we felt rushed even though there were empty tables and no one waiting. We finished appetizer, main entree, and dessert in just under an hour. Usually a dinner like this takes us about an 1-1/2 to enjoy. Very disappointing. The best course was the appetizer. The other courses were unmemorable.

I've been to Murphy's many times before. Unfortunately, it seems to be suffering a slow decline. Higher prices should come with finer quality of food and service excellence. Our entrees arrived about 5 minutes prior to finishing our salads. My entree wasn't correct. It was another 5-10 minutes before our waitress finally came back to our table and corrected the mistake (food now on the table for ~15 minutes). Meanwhile, my table mate's food was getting cold. The food (hangar steak, medium rare for me..brisket for table mate) was prepared correctly but otherwise was very run of the mill. Disappointing...

The food was awesome, the service was even better. For restaurant with such an extensive wine availability by the bottle, I was underwhelmed at the wine selection by the glass. The herbal old-fashioned Was a little too sweet for my taste but otherwise was an amazing restaurant experience

This restaurant features interesting and tasty cuisine, attentive but unobtrusive service, attractive decor, a vibrant and worthy neighborhood find, reasonably priced, free valet parking relieves that issue in this popular locale with limited parking alternatives, fairly sophisticated clientele. Recommended with enthusiasm.

Our visit was disappointing. It was our first time having lunch there, we have always gone for brunch. The server was clearly new and struggled. I ordered a soup/salad/half sandwich combo which consisted of a Mexican tortilla soup, kale salad, and buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. The soup lacked any Mexican flavor and was mostly mirepoix, no avocado (my mother’s was lukewarm and had to be sent back for heating). The Kale salad with lemon vinaigrette had way too much lemon to eat. But the sandwich was the most disappointing- supposedly a “buttermilk fried chicken sandwich with pepper jam and arugula aioli”. I was expecting a hot sandwich with some southern spicy kick but what I got was a warm piece of chicken with Asian red chili sauce that was heavy on the sesame oil giving the item a definite Asian flavor which was unexpected and didn’t work. I was hungry as I didn’t finish the soup or salad so when I got to the last couple of bites of the chicken it was rubbery as if undercooked.
I have always loved Murphy’s for brunch so I don’t know why the big miss at lunch. Despite this experience, I’m not giving up on them for the occasional brunch.

Went here before Christmas mass and don’t know if I’ll return. We arrived at our reservation time and were promptly seated, only to wait 15 mins for anybody to bring us water. Our server proceeded to attend a walk in table that arrived after us, at which point we were mostly over the whole experience and just wanted our food. The food was OK; my kale salad was good and my wife’s chicken tortilla soup was great. Her chicken was OK and my steak frites weren’t bad but nothing outstanding. The server brought my pregnant wife a glass of wine - appreciate the gesture for the delay but not appropriate -, after which we asked for the check before we were finished eating our food. Because of the 15 min delay and the so-so service, we didn’t even check the dessert menu, as we didn’t want to be late to our event and didn’t believe they could salvage the rest of the experience.

We arrived early for our dinner on Christmas Eve, and they seated us right away which we really appreciated. This restaurant has a nice smaller menu which is often better than one with too many selections for the kitchen to get right. It is always a good choice for lunch or dinner.

The place would benefit if it had a few TV sets around, especially in the waiting area, not necessarily live TV, but like Cheesecake Factory, continuous adds running show casing Murphy's products and services.

Took out of tow family and friend to Murphy's before a night at the Botanical Gardens. Everyone was thrilled with their meal, the atmosphere and the entire experience. Service is always friendly without being overbearing. Food is always fresh and delicious - home cooking with a fresh flair - not heavy or boring, but a creative spin on familiar dishes. Plus the wine menu is always a hit! It's worth the drive to Murphy's - even from OTP!

We had a wonderful dinner, including our 8-year-old son, who declared the chicken fingers to be in his "top two." All the food was amazing. We were seated on the patio, which was chilly despite assurances that it would not be ... that was the only thing that could have been improved upon. If we had dined inside, it would have been a 5-star experience all around.

I’m a long time customer. This time, our server, Rebecca, was truly splendid. The food was not quite up to its usual standard. Asparagus was fibrous and scorched. Sandwich bun was also scorched and tough. Little things, but annoying and uncharacteristic of Murphy’s. Perhaps, I hope, this was a “one-off” event.
