   Food was delicious! It was a special night for us as it was my wife's birthday, our first anniversary and we just closed on a house in the neighborhood. The manager personally came over to welcome us to the neighborhood! It capped off the perfect evening :)

   Food and service were excellent. The ambience is always lovely. The chef over-sauced the Brussel sprouts and salmon, but otherwise, this place is consistently great.

   Wanted to order the special. Got the sides and was wondering where my main course was. My waitress Dakota failed to tell me that the kitchen was backed up on biscuits and offered a English muffin instead. Really? It wasn’t about the English muffin, but the lack of communication about what was going on and the fact I has to run her down to ask about it.

   Another great evening at Murphy's! From the time we lived in Atlanta in the late 1980's until today, we've never been disappointed with our food or service there. Back in Atlanta for a meeting this time, our visit to Murphy's was equally enjoyable. Our table server, Nachel, was knowledgeable about the new Spring menu, providing great advice in a very friendly and happy way. She obviously enjoys what she's doing and does it well. We split a fresh Caesar salad appetizer to save some room for dessert. The entrees of braised brisket and sea bass were excellent. The shrimp risotto served with the fish was just right in consistency and flavor to accent the tasty fish filet. The brisket was served over mashed potatoes, green beans and a wild mushroom gravy that gave everything a very nice finish. And as always at Murphy's, the desserts were fabulous! The Bonzo is three layers of wonderful white chocolate mousse, cheesecake and chocolate cake. The carrot cake was outstanding, even the small portion saved for the next day. In summary, we've never been disappointed with a dinner at Murphy's. That they have maintained that high quality and pleasant atmosphere over several decades now is nothing short of amazing. We'll always make time for a stop there whenever we return to Atlanta!

    Their half sandwich, soup, AND salad make for one of the best lunch deals in Atlanta. Our last time there,I had the salmon BLT and my wife had the brisket on ciabatta bread. My salmon was delicious, but I wished I had ordered the brisket. Their desserts are wonderful but being a simple man (and a cheap one), I prefer the one-dollar chocolate cookie with coffee. Take a few home and extend the meal.

    Consistently fantastic, one of our favorite restaurant that never fails to exceed expectations. Ther services is great, the food is very high quality, but if I could request one thing... please bring back the Whiskey Cake... it was out of this world.

    Our server, Floyd was exceptional. Another server, James, was shadowing him. They made my Mom’s 80th birthday extra special. The trout was delicious and the veggies were cooked to perfection!

    We are a group of five friends who dine out frequently together. We always ask for separate checks when we order and Murphy's is literally the only restaurant which has refused us. Our server said that the "computer" wouldn't let him do it. We had no choice but to split the check equally which was unfair to our non-drinker and lighter eaters. This is enough of a reason not to return to Murphy's.

    My first time back to Murphy's in 10 years, was not disappointed! Very impressed with the retail wine selection and the modest $15 corkage fee. Food quality was very good to outstanding. Our request for a quiet table was honored so we had a nice time catching up with old friends who were in town. They declared this to be the best dinner of the 3 nights they had been dining in Virginia-Highlands area. Only shortcoming was service was a little abrupt, with salad coming before appetizer finished and entrees within 5 minutes of salad, some of us still working through the delicious grilled artichoke starter. Perhaps a result of dining at 7 pm on Sunday night? We did not feel rushed to leave, but it did seem like the service staff was in a hurry to deliver our food.

    Great food! And our server Kevin was impeccable! We had the salmon flatbread with arugula which was a wonderful start. We then had the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict over a big hash brown, fantastic Shrimp & Grits and the Crab Cake Benedict which had good lump meat and came with delicious cheese grits. A feast for sure! Did the early seating at 8:30am and it was a peaceful environment.

    Murphy's has been on my "favorites" list forever. Wonderful food, eye-pleasing environment, friendly waitstaff. In this inflationary age, prices are no worse than anywhere else. If you want to go on weekends make sure you have reservations, as it's not just a neighborhood favorite, but also of slumming suburbanites who want to remember what city living can be like.

    Our second visit. Food and service was outstanding as expected. Unfortunately we weren’t aware that when we made a reservation we would have to sit outside. It was 48 degrees. Hostess wasn’t accommodating to our ask to sit inside- essentially lied & said it’s warm out there. We moved tables to a patio that was sort of heated but still exposed to the wind. Overall experience dampened due to being cold the entire meal. I wouldn’t have made the reservation had I known we would be outside in 48degree weather.

    The food was LOVELY! Service at the beginning was slow but Dakota turned it around and got out good out promptly. Everything was DELICIOUS and the drinks were WONDERFUL. Definitely will be back ASAP.

    Murphy's was very busy since it was St. Patrick's Day, yet we got good service with a smile. We both got salmon -- one was a nightly special and the other was on the regular menu -- both were superlative. Mixed green salad was fresh and perfectly dressed, and the bonzo dessert is outstanding (layers of brownie, cheescake, chocolate mouse and topped with whipped cream). Definitely big enough to share.

    Murphy's has been one of our favorites for years. That is why it is the first restaurant we have been to during the interminable close down of Covid. I was seriously disappointed! I am a Celiac and hence cannot eat gluten. When I asked what was on the menu that I could eat I was told I could have a salad. After probing a bit we discovered I could also have salmon -- not what I envisioned for my first night out. The multiple steak offering were ALL(!) contaminated with gluten. Why is there gluten on brisket. Why are the fries that are on the stake cooked in a fryer that also cooks calamari and hence are inedible to me. These are signs of a kitchen that does not care. Option should be available, but why do this in the first place. I have not eaten my last meal at Murphy's because they just don't care.

    The food was lack luster at best! Our waitress did not tell us about the specials, which I would have preferred to order. The only way that we knew there were even any specials for the day was because of the great waitress the table next to us had. We will not return. 😕

    The shrimp and grits dish was excellent as far as flavor; a very nice mix that varied with different bites. It was, however, served lukewarm, almost cold in some spots, which detracted from my enjoyment. I wish I'd sent it back early on the be heated up (I didn't complain for fear it wouldn't be taken seriously or not relayed to the kitchen. Or thought to be someone trying to be comped a meal, if that's still a thing.)

    Alexa was a great server. I ordered the same entree that I always have for brunch. The poached eggs were undercooked. Instead of removing the entire plate to recook the eggs, the server ordered new eggs. The rest of the entre was cold by the time the eggs were served. Very disappointing
