Food, service and view were excellent. It was incredibly warm in the dining room due to all the sun coming in through the windows which is an unfortunate downside of such large windows

The waitress was pleasant, service for drinks was 15 minutes plus, bison was very grizzly 50% of the piece, meal overall was Luke warm had been sitting under warming lights, and the sorbet was 30% melted, mgmt did take sorbet off bill after I requested. Very expensive for what you get.

Not worth the money for the food quality. Elk steak was like eating a baseball. Lots of construction blocking the view and outside areas. Mask requirement still in place in June 2022. Sad, this used to be nice.

Guests staying at Jackson Lake Lodge should be given absolute seating priority (table with a view). Spent $1000 on a two night stay and got to look at construction paper and machinery during our dinner in the Mural Room. Half the seats have the view, hotel guests should get priority seating. I really don’t see any other fair and equitable way to do it. Kind of like at Disney if you stay on property you can enter the park an hour early or you get fast past priority for the best rides. Totally underwhelmed…

Made reservation weeks ago not knowing view was obstructed from most tables. Arrived on time. There were empty tables in section that had a view but I was not allowed to sit there even though there were empty tables for 2 in clear view; none marked reserved. Serve staff was told to “put them at table in back corner.” Even after this affront, the service was ridiculously slow, took 30 mins to bring cold bread to our table. Worst part was the food. Both orders of tenderloin and bison strip were tough to cut, worse to chew. Potatoes were cold. Broccolini was virtually raw. Truly one of the worst meals of my life—and cost $100 without drinks or appetizer. I would not recommend anyone to spend their time/money here. A TOTAL disappointment.

I had high hopes but this was a major disappointment. The property is under construction so there are only maybe two tables with views on the Tetons- the rest of scaffolding. The food was plain, under seasoned and over priced. Service was alright. On par with the rest of the restaurants at this property.

They are under major construction here. The view is of scaffolding out the windows with absolutely no view. They refused to move us. The service was very slow. I regret not reading the reviews before booking. Eat next door at The Blue Heron. It’s a relatively limited menu but the ambiance and view make up for it.

We were staying at the Jackson Lake Lodge and decided to have dinner in the Mural Room for our anniversary. The staff were very nice and gave us a table with a view of the mountains. Our server was terse/rushed; he didn’t introduce himself nor did he take the time to explain any of the menu items, as we noted that other servers did. My husband loved the Oysters Rockefeller appetizer. Unfortunately, that was the only dish we enjoyed. The salad I ordered never came as the server forgot to put the order into the kitchen. For an entree, I ordered the Idaho Ruby Red (a type of trout). It was a bit dry/overcooked but it was ok. Not memorable. My husband ordered the Elk strip steak. It had very little flavor and was quite tough. We decided to skip dessert and went next door to the Pioneer Grill for some ice cream. If you decide to go to the Mural Room for the view/ambiance, I recommend you adjust your expectations and order something safe, like a hamburger.

I hate writing a negative review, or giving a rating under 4 stars. In this case I was generous with 2 stars. WI residents - first experience in the Grand Tetons - we love historic sites and decided to splurge on what sounded like amazing food in a unique space. Nothing was mentioned about extensive renovations, resulting in scaffolding blocking allll of the windows. We were seated at a window at 6:45 pm, with full sun blazing in; it was sweltering. Then we shared a waiter with a table of 10 next to us - a leadership team for the Park. He was swamped with their needs and was unable to check on us. The food was sadly very disappointing - we were looking forward to bison and they had run out until the next day. (Even the Park employees at the next table were astonished - how do you run out of the signature dish?). The medium rare elk loin was so tough we could barely cut it with steak knives. The mushrooms in wine were boring, not sautéed, dry, the potatoes were lukewarm and under seasoned. For an entree priced over $50 it was truthfully just awful.

Difficult review to make. I mean this is miles from a town and is smack in the middle of a National Park. Getting right to it, the food was tasty, it was good! The view at this time doesn't exist, even I made the RSV weeks in advance, but they aren't advertising that they have the windows covered for repairs. That view would have made up the difference in our experience with the server.... We received more of an intro and smile from the servers asst. Our server showed up to the table and gave no hello or introduction. Simply, Are we ready to order? Fine dining or not, a basic minimum for me is a smile and a greeting. I shouldn't say it, but he even tried to shake a fork off the appetizer platter, so he didnt have to bring another clean fork over, No! Lastly, he couldn't get rid of us fast enough because he really didnt want to even bring the desert menu. Good help is hard these days, and he proved it. Maybe he was having a day, I know he was certainly busy with many tables.

Overall good experience. Asked waiter who seated us to sit at an open table further from which snow wall but in a sunnier location and they could not do it - even though several tables were available and were filled in 10 min. Head waiter was over booked - took about 20 min to get bill after I asked for it. Apart from that, great service and food.

Would not recommend until they can secure more help. Our waiter was great but they obviously do not have enough help in the kitchen. Many people in the restaurant waited for over an hour for food and then it was wrong as was ours! It is a problem securing help everywhere right now and it makes your 4/5 star turn into a 2/3 star rated restaurant!

    1. I knew that there was construction so not being able to see the grand Teton was okay 2. The appetisers we got- baked Brie and the assorted meat platter were just okay. 3. Their Mural Salad was abysmal. We got a very small dollop of wilted greens and over ripened strawberries. Portion size was very very small for its price. I would strongly avoid. 4. We got three entrees. The trout filet was thin and it was nothing remarkable. The chicken was beyond well done— very difficult to eat. The elk loin was actually cooked well. We asked and emphasised it to be medium rare and it came out medium rare. HOWEVER, the waiter suggested that since me and my friend were sharing that entree, that he could split it into two plates for us… he failed to mention that there was an $8 split plate charge. 5. Service was extremelyyyyy slow. Bless their hearts because a lot of them were running around the entire night and going to each other for support. It seemed very stressful to be them. But I must be honest here and say that waiting for 1 hour and 45 mins for the main course to arrive is unacceptable. We got there at 7:30p and our main course came out close to 930pm. It also was a huge wait to get take away boxes and our bill such that we didn’t want to ask about the surprise $8 split plate charge.

When I made my reservation for our anniversary, there was no mention of the plastic and scaffolding covering the expansive windows. It blocked the wonderful view from the diners. I had been there before and the view was one of the reasons I wanted to return. Why was the plastic even there? Our serving team of Lee (from Minnesota) and Christian (from Equador) were great.
