We are in the old La Reyna Bakery in good company with Bouldin Creek Cafe, Lenoir, Sugar Mamas, and Soup Peddler. We are incredibly happy to be part of such a great and adventurous community.     The air conditioning works poorly and it was too hot to enjoy our meal. The staff seems to know about it as they use small fans on the bar but there were no fans in the restaurant area which made it very uncomfortable. The food and service were great but again, the heat ruined our experience.

    We loved Mumtaz! Pretty sure they ran an outdoor restaurant (G'raj Mahal) a few years ago and I loved their food then, it was so nice to experience it all in a new setting! Beautiful space and great location. Excellent for a date night. We had the deconstructed samosas, papadum platter, gnocchi saag, and mutton vindaloo. It was all amazing! Definitely recommend and definitely coming back!

    arrived at 12:00pm. the restaurant was dark. no one there! waited five minutes and called their phone number. it went to voice mail. waited another 5 minutes and left at 12:10pm to find another restaurant. i emailed and left a voice message later that afternoon and have had no response.

    This is one of my favorite places food wise. The pork dish is my favorite but the chicken tikka masala is a close second. The service is always a bit off, but nothing that would prevent me from coming back because the dang food is so amazing. I also love that I can always get a reservation last minute. I’m really rooting for this place because it’s some of the best Indian I’ve had.

    Food was OUTSTANDING! Really enjoyed every single dish that came out. I really hope this restaurant succeeds, a few tweaks to the “vibe” would be REALLY helpful (lowering the lights - it was pretty bright in there and fixing music, playlist was struggling). Service was okay but could have definitely been stepped up a notch in terms of knowledge of the cocktail menu, making recommendations for beverages etc. The food, I cannot stress enough, WAS AMAZING.

    Even though SXSW this place only had 5 tables occupied on a Wed night at 6:30. Service was slow due to 1 waitress managing all the tables. Standouts we’re the lamb samosas and lamb shank. The seasoning is fantastic. Had to send the lamb sirloin back since well done vs. rare. It came back perfectly cooked and enjoyable with the chutney. Chef offered his apologies and complimentary dessert. Pricey for 4 people with a tab of $230 with 6 glasses of wine. Nice ambiance and plenty of parking. I will return.

    Food was incredible, but service definitely could have been better. We were waiting for our drinks for quite a while and saw the bartenders cleaning up the bar. It was only 7:30pm, so it wasn't close to closing (I'm very aware of this not coming too close to closing!). Our server barely checked in on us, and only came to deliver food. We'd definitely go back, because the food was incredible, but be prepared that you won't have super attentive service.

    Fun twist on Asian Indian cuisine that is always tasty. They have fun group seating options in the corners so the noise does not get out of control. Otherwise tables are nicely spaced and outdoor area is very pleasant. Parking is tight, but they do have it. Definitely recommend.

    Mumtaz is our favorite Indian spot in Austin. It’s in the neighborhood so it’s super convenient. So surprise that more people haven’t discovered this gem!

    Everything was perfect. The flavors in the cuisine had us wide eyed and audibly showing our appreciation at every new taste. Service was very attentive. Look forward to returning, will definitely take out of town friends here to show off Austin.

    Let me start off by saying that food is excellent. But they just opened and I realize that there are plenty of kinks to work out, but it’s sad to say the service was not great. Our waitress only came by to take our order and give us our check… And didn’t seem to realize that there were problems with the order when it arrived. First of all, she put the order in wrong and got us something that was not what we ordered, and when we asked for the item that we ordered, it didn’t arrive again and I had to aska third time for the appetizer after all of our food had already come out. So by the time it had arrived, it had been 45 minutes. Unfortunately, it seemed like none of the staff communicated that they were issues with our order and they didn’t even let our own waitress know that this has happened. There were no apologies until I had to put my foot down I complained about the added an extra item that I did not receive because I did not order it. That means, I do plan on giving them some time to work out those kinks. So I will be coming back at a later time in the future and I hope for a better experience. The food was that good.

    Chicken tikka is the best I’ve had here in Austin, last time I got medium hot but was underwhelmed this time I got hot and it was perfect. Spice is true to the level. The garlic butter nan was insane, like perfectly cooked and flavored don’t leave without trying it. We went around 4 so service was stellar and it was much more quiet than dinner time, our waitress was patient and very knowledgeable.

    We had a delicious meal. Service was a bit rough as they were understaffed but everyone had great demeanors. I think its just a Covid thing. They were really hustling. We would definitely dine here again

    The bar was clearly short-staffed, and I’m guessing that’s a hiring issue and not a management issue. Food was great. Best Indian in Austin. Will definitely be ordering from there again.
