Our evening was wonderful and we enjoyed being a part of Muffuletta's last night of an incredible 40 years! We are so sad to see their doors closed.
So sad to lose this wonderful institution. We ate there twice in its last week.
So many memories made here. Best restaurant ever :)
Muffuletta has been a favorite restaurant of mine for the past 37 years. I hope a good restauranteur can reclaim the aura and quality of food at the Muffuletta location. This was a St. Paul legend that was perhaps not well known enough.
Delightful as always. So very sad to see Mufuletta close. It’s been great. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
Will miss this neighborhood gem!!
Muffuletta was very good as usual. It is one of my daughter's favorite restaurants, so we went there for her birthday. Very disappointed that it has closed!
To our great sadness, the restaurant will close on November 11, 2017. We have always enjoyed our dinners, especially summer dinners on the deck. Best wishes to the staff.
I don’t even like salmon but I loved
After 40 years, you're really going to really be missed...
We are so sad they are closing. We went for the final time Saturday for brunch. The food was great, the service was outstanding. If we didn't live 40 minutes away we would have visited more often. Truly a gem.
First time here, wish I would have came sooner. Too bad they are closing, we had a good experience.
We will miss Muffulettas! Have had many great dinners there..
We were deeply saddened to learn that Muffaletta is clouding and this was our last chance to eat at one of our favorite places.
We are sad to see it go. It was a great neighborhood place.
Nice food but very inattentive service for an early Sunday evening when there weren't many customers yet. Server checked in with us when we were seated but then disappeared for 20 minutes. We then decided to place our whole order of drinks, appetizers and entrees all at once since we were afraid he wouldn't come back. Our food came out fairly promptly after that, but we then waited a very long time to get our check so we could pay and leave. In the end we spent over 2 hours there of which about 30-40 minutes was spent just waiting for our server to come to our table. They've also reorganized the menu and looks like they no longer bring a complimentary bread basket anymore but make you pay for one, and when it arrived it was pretty skimpy for a party of 5. Overall, food was good and we liked some of their new menu offerings, but inattentive service detracted from the experience and will make us think twice before going back.
Three women were allowed to linger longly over lunch, and our server was accommodating, though a little scatter-brained. My fritto misto was a tasty and well-prepared plate, the special of the day, shepherd' pie, was reported to be good; beet salad was fresh and good, but way overboard on greens and light on cheese and seasoning.
The restaurant is a nice, spacious venue, though parking is difficult. Overall very pleasant.
As always, the food was excellent! Fresh fruits and vegetables, exceptional meat. The fact that Minnesota farmers are the source of some of the food is a plus. Nice variety of foods on the menu and a fun place for our family to meet and eat!! Our wait person was so attentive!
The food was flavorful, with reasonable portions and attention to quality and presentation. The service was attentive and professional. The setting was on the quieter side and very clean and comfortable. It was a very pleasant experience overall, and I would return and recommend without hesitation.
Everything was really perfectly prepared and delicious, and we had many courses. Delicious.
Meh not great
Few choices on a Saturday. It is getting tacky looking.
I have been coming here for years and today I noticed the bread basket which used to be complimentary was now a $2.00 charge. I ordered the turkey burger and the flavor was meh - not anything special. I actually got sick to my stomach from it. Great service as always though. Wasn't wowed by the too-crispy fries either. The food used to be so good!
Party of 4 and all of our meals were fantastic! The turkey burger is amazing! We will be back!
Great food. Service has always been slow but it was slower than usually and the waiter seemed a little arrogant.
Very impressed with the food, and service. I enjoyed a special dinner with my son. The desserts were worth saving a little room for. I was extra pleased at the great selection of wines by the glass, I find that to be a rarity. A true gem.
We love the beer cheese soup to start, which comes with tasty popcorn as a garnish. The Asian burger is a delicious and unique burger. I'd also recommend the duck. Service is great, and the overall atmosphere is really nice for an evening out.
This is my favorite restaurant in St. Paul; it never disappoints!
Never been disappointed. This place is always amazing. Every time like the first time. Just love it.
Wonderful as usual! We ordered the steak frites which my wife and I have both had in the past. The frites have been changed from thin, almost shoe-string fries to much thicker wedges and although out initial reaction was mild disappointment, they were excellent!!!
We had a really nice dinner at Muffuletta. Our server was friendly, patient and knowledgable. The pork chop was delicious though quite spicy. The moonfish special was good too. I was not overly impressed with the wine list. It felt like your standard wine selection but a bit over priced and small pours. That was my only real complaint. Great location and neighborhood. We will come back for lunch to try the muffuletta sandwich soon.
I just love the duck, unbelievable. I think this is my favorite place in the cities.
As usual, wonderful choices for lunch. I especially enjoy the chicken salad sandwich.
Amazing restaurant! One of our most enjoyable meals.
Thanks to Muffuletta's for great food and an enjoyable lunch with old friends!
The Asian burger and Turkey burger were dry and tasteless. I had the Turkey, didn't see any avocado or cheese. Perhaps mushrooms were the dark, chewy things on it. The salad with it was small and tasty, lots of green leaves. Our companions enjoyed the trout and roasted beet salad.
I did enjoy the salmon flatbread appetizer and the creme brulee. Would have liked more creme and no biscotti. on top.
Plus, we should have been told when making the reservation that the road would be torn up.
We had not been to Muffaletta for several years; decided to go back for a special celebration, and were reminded of all the reasons we used to frequent the place - great food, wonderful service, pleasant ambience. We'll be back again soon.
Overall liked my salad. I had the beets with salmon. There were supposed to be candied walnuts and I literally had 2 in my whole salad. Arugula was fresh, beets plentiful. No need to overdo ingredients but be generous. People will talk about it and come back.
Meal started fine with wine, salad, and soup, but our two shrimp pasta specials were so full of lemon we couldn't taste anything else. We brought this to their attention and to their credit the server, manager and chef all sincerely apologized and deducted the entrees and dessert from our bill. But this means they aren't really tasting things in the kitchen which is worrisome. Their opening popcorn snack was also overseasoned with chocolate and ancho chili powder, so 2 bites and we were done with that too.
We had a lovely family dinner on the deck. Delicious food perfectly cooked and presented. Our server was terrific!
