Food is always great, just always super disappointed in the kids menu. It would be nice to see some small plates of the main menu options on there.
Food was not good. Bland and overpriced
Lesson learned to come earlier to get the special
Nice place and healthy food. Maybe it‘s not afordable for everywee...
Always love brunch at the Mudhen! It is a bit on the "lively" side, but the food is worth it!
Wonderful brunch menu both healthy and fulfilling!!!
Food was delicious. Many vegetarian options. Service was friendly and fun. Definitely going back!
Food exceeded our expectations in flavor and quality!!
An absolute must try restaurant. We went for Sunday brunch. Started with the Crack coffee. Absolutely delicious. The Green Eggs and Ham was a feast. Eggs cooked to perfection, so much ham couldn’t finish. Highly recommended. Husband had the Carnavor Bowl and loved it. We shared the avocado toast, which was a mistake because we couldn’t finish it. Everything was outrageously fresh and oh so good. Can’t wait to return.
Also, service as just as spectacular.
We met at Mudhen for an adult birthday dinner with close family. Our server was nice, attentive and had personality. We were recommended to this restaurant from some inside family. Everyone at the table enjoyed their beverages and all food. Quite delicious and exactly what a happy healthy stomach needs. We are all food admirers here. There were no negatives, except for the kitchen staff dropping a few loud tin bowls (is what we assumed) but even then it only made us giggle.
We appreciate the hospitality and healthy food choices. We will be back for certain, and will always recommend to a friend.
The food was great, great atmosphere, great service!
Great casual place to assemble and enjoy a healthy, sustainable, creatively-prepared meal. Highly recommended. Enjoy the Farmer's Market while you are there. Free parking behind Rubio's.
Clean food options quickly become less healthy when too much oil is used in the dishes as is the usual practice of Mudhen. My salad was drenched.
Enjoyed lunch with our Leadership class. Were able to sit outside. The weather was beautiful and food was the best
A great place to meet friends for brunch. Menu was great, service was good. A little noisy but that’s because it’s a popular place at the farmer’s market.
It’s going downhill
Great food and great atmosphere, really easy to find healthy options!
Mudhen is always great! Love the Bone Broth and the seasonally changing menu!
Was there celebrating two birthdays. Service could have been better. Waitress was not around often. Was always waiting on her and had to request our water to be refilled.
The location, design and menu was great. We went there for a birthday celebration and because it is listed as a Whole30 accommodating restaurant. The review advised to "just let the waiter know you are on Whole 30" and they will help. I did and they really didn't know how to guide me. I was able to get a good meal but probably not as great as if the waiter knew more.
They asked if it was a special occasion and I shared in advance and even on the phone confirmation that we were celebrating a birthday. But the evening ended, the check came and not even a single "happy birthday" was said. Would have been okay if they hadn't confirmed and made a big deal of it when they confirmed our reservation.
Might go back. Might check other restaurants.
One of my favorite restaurants in Dallas with the freshest food and friendliest staff. Great for weekday lunch and even better for weekend brunch.
What a great find! Went for brunch and everyone enjoyed their food! I would recommend.
I reserved a table for 12 well ahead of time. I received a call a few days prior to the reservation to confirm the reservation and inform me of the payment policy for large groups. The caller was very helpful and professional. The service was perfect. The unique items on the menu were clearly explained by our waitress. The variety of food selections was amazing. Though I often find chicken to be boring, after talking with the waitress, I selected the roasted chicken with quinoa and sweet potatoes, and it was delicious. The food is fresh, beautifully presented and tasty. Our large group with varied food preferences and needs was well satisfied with my choice of restaurants. On the walls are written a huge variety of vegetables that can be chosen as sides...so many that they don't fit on the menu! Vegetarians, meat lovers and those who need a gluten free meal will love this restaurant. If you like fresh, healthy food prepared with a creative twist, please give Mudhen a try. It is adjacent to the Farmer's Market, which was a quick ride from the Dallas Hyatt Regency where our conference was being held. The atmosphere is down home country and will surely satisfy any traveler's quest for reasonably priced, delicious food, in a non-chain restaurant with local flair.
Celebrating birthdays once again mini reunion with a group of former colleagues
4 of us were there for brunch. 2 plates were awesome; 2 were meh.
The food was very fresh. They source local ingredients and offer plenty of variety on the menu.
Neil was wonderful and made our evening. If I return, I'll definitely request his service.
Met with friends for birthdays! Food was great! Appreciate the extensive selection of vegetables and menu options.
We went for a small bachelorette party, and I stopped by the day before to drop off a little sign for our table. The host I spoke with before I dropped off the sign and the hostess that took it were both very friendly and accommodating.
The food was wonderful. Really great veggie options, and the flavors were well balanced. The shrimp jambalaya- so dang good. I love true Cajun food and though I wouldn’t consider it a classic jambalaya, It was still delicious. Everyone at our table was very pleased with their orders.
I HATED this place. All the food was awful and expensive. Do not understand how the chef creates menus that do not pair well. Shrimp with weird BBQ sauce and cornbread NO side and cornbread is HARD and very DRY. Gross. Drinks tasteless and 14.00 for a blended drink. I don't mind paying for food but I don't like paying for garbage. NO joke. This is the harshest review I have ever written but on top of spending $50 dollars on my brunch I left hungry and the waiter double charged my card and could not figure out how to fix it. The end.
We were a table of 4. Unfortunately there was a large party outside which really messed up the kitchen effiency. Our waitress was very slow in taking our drink orders. Then we waiting a very long time for our dinners. Three arrived at same time BUT I had to wait till they were half way through with eating their entrees before I even got mine. I ordered the JR chicken. Our waitress never offered to make amends. Not pleased with the service that night at all.
We were visiting from the Houston area and I was excited to try Mudhen's healthy options. We had a pretty good experience overall, but we sat on the patio and my kids were hot and there were a lot of flies. It also took a long time to get our food, which was difficult with children as well. The food was delicious, but if I were to go again I would opt to sit inside.
I eat mostly organic and was looking for a healthy restaurant in Dallas. The food was excellent, as was the service by Neal. The burger was outstanding and the chocolate/avocado mousse was incredible. I have had the latter elsewhere and you could always tell it had avocado in it. This one was a luscious chocolate mousse that I would dare anyone to guess it had avocado in it without being told. I will go back every time I am in Dallas.
This was our second time here for brunch. It was definitely a disappointment compared to the first time.
The service was very slow and just plain bad. The food wasn't that good either.
Great food! The waitstaff was very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to help me put together a Whole30 compliant meal.
Food and drinks were great! We sat on the front patio, it was nice and cool. Patios are dog friendly so that’s always a plus. I had the berry bliss cocktail which was great, not too sweet, and had fresh fruit in it. My date had the Mexican beer and was pleased with the taste. We shared the rotisserie chicken with sweet potato mash and green beans. The chicken was very tasty, and cooked very well. The sides were great too. Service a little slow. Overall great experience.
We are fans of Mud Hen especially for breakfast and lunch. Sunday like the servers were just going through the motions.
I had the English Breakfast (I think that’s what it is called) and it’s normally great, this time the toast was cold, the sausage was cold and just wasn’t hot overall. My wife had to he avocado toast and she felt the the bread wasn’t toasted and it was really hard to cut through it.
Very original, flavorful and fresh food! Every dish was outstanding. Menu items clearly marked for vegan, gluten free and keto options. Great wine and unique beverage choices. Excellent dining experience - we will be back!
Food was pretty good though the item I wanted wasn't available. However, the waitstaff didn't tell me that until 20 minutes after I ordered, which was quite annoying. They didn't even offer any discount or other food in the meantime. Crack coffee is delicious and the ambiance is cool!
I love Mudhen! It has a wonderful brunch and is great for a more casual meal with friends, a quick bite at the bar, or for a special occasion. My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner here and the entire group loved it. Ambiance was great and food options hit the spot for everyone!
