Mudhen - Farmer's Market
The food and service at Mudhen never disappoints. You can taste the freshness!
Parking lot in front gives parking tickets - have been there 2x before and no parking fee so why now? Restaurant says not their problem- they have a small sign saying free parking in garage in back
Fantastic fresh menu with lots of options for vegetarians and meat lovers!!
Great food and atmosphere but honestly poor service.
When I say it was quiet, that was when we first arrived at 11:30 AM. By 12:30 the vibe was more energetic. The entire experience, though, was, indeed, outstanding. I haven't been to Mudhen in several months but it's still great!
Fresh, healthy food in a fun atmosphere!
Met some friends from another state for Sunday brunch. The food was fresh and delicious. I will be back.
At Mudhen, the hostess stand is unnecessarily driving down the experience. We arrived mid afternoon, which appeared to be great timing since the restaurant was emptying out. Despite this, we were told there would be a 45 minute wait because of all the reservations.
I walked outside, pulled up Open Table, made a reservation for the current time, and walked back in to be seated. The hostess made a show of requiring a delay to ready the requested patio table, but when we were seated at the table, there was no silverware or napkins, only tiny glasses for the warm water.
Once we ordered, the food and drinks were good, the patio was nice, but we could never shake the annoyance from knowing we’d have had to drive somewhere else or would still be outside waiting the entire duration of our actual visit with a half empty restaurant (that never filled up) if I weren’t a regular Open Table user.
The food, bar and atmosphere was excellent. The service was not. Unfortunately, it appeared that the restaurant was extremely understaffed and our we barely received service. We had to ask for a waiter, ask to place our order, ask for drinks and ask to pay. Even the MOD seemed miffed and was not very friendly when we moved to the bar.
The food was overall good. Tasted fresh but slightly over salted. Service was mediocre.
Mudhen used to be our favorite restaurant. As downtown residents we frequented the restaurant at least 1-2 times a week. Unfortunately, we have seen a huge decline in service. The waitstaff is uninterested and apathetic at best. It’s disappointing and no matter how good the food is - the poor service taints the experience of eating at Mudhen. If they want to stay in business they need to re-evaluate their customer service.
We were really impressed with Mudhen! The food was outstanding! So fresh, healthy, and delicious!
Mudhen represents the best of the freshness of the Farmer's Market. They create dishes that will meet the desires of the most discerning diner. The vegetable board is a masterpiece of goodness. I had the Betty Soo Bowl with delicious sweet potato mash and braised greens with an Oak Cliff Black Lager. The Brown Betty was served hot with fresh pears, nuts, and just the right amount of ice cream. I will be repeating when I return. Mudhen is also a great dining location before an event at The Majestic Theatre.
Wait staff struggled with splitting the bill and ultimately turned what would have been a nice dining experience into an uncomfortable experience.
Healthy good tasting food!
Love this place! Great food and environment!
Wonderful food. Delicious menu. Love it every time!
This is a gluten-free eater's paradise! All fresh cooked and delicious without being outrageously priced.
Good food and drinks but the waitress who served us seemed to be in a bad mood
We love coming for Brunch. I'm vegan and my boyfriend is pescatarian so this is a great place for us to find common ground with our meat eating friends.
Got the bowl. Was amazing.
Great breakfast spot, food is so fresh and location is unbeatable
We always have a good time here. This last visit definitely did not disappoint.
Overpriced food that was not worth it!!
Good if you have a specific diet such a whole 30, vegan or vegetarian.
This was my first visit, and the food was exquisite! Nice setting, great service, and friendly people.
I am the type of person that usually tries something different any time I go to a restaurant again - but I always get the shrimp and cauliflower grits here! Sooo good! Great for brunch and good mimosa prices.
Loved this place! The manager was so sweet and provided congratulatory mimosas for the bride and groom to be!
Food is always excellent! My husband fell in love on this visit with the green tea latte. A great place for those on a plant based diet.
Organic food with a hipster twist. Tasty plates (mostly bowls of cooked-together foods) with creative textures served by friendly staff in a "farm-to-table" environment. Make reservations for brunch, especially if it's inclement weather since they cannot use the outside (cool) tables with a view of downtown.
Loved the new brunch menu! Loads of choices.
Everything was great! We’ll be back!
Great place for dusty rafters with dietary restrictions. Great atmosphere and watching football.
great food that we enjoyed with confidence in taste and health. i would recommend this place to anyone and the 1/4 chicken was delicious.
We came to Mudhen for Saturday brunch. We had a reservation (which we probably didn't need) and were sat promptly. The ambiance is very rustic and comfortable, kind of barnhouse vibes. The brunch menu features a good balance of breakfast and lunch options. I got a double mimosa which is mostly champagne with a splash of OJ, comes in a mason jar and it was a steal at $7! My husband and brother got blood orange screwdrivers. For my entrée I got the veggie egg skillet. It was a variety of vegs mixed with the eggs, served in a cast iron skillet. Came with a side of multigrain "hippie" toast. My brother got the quinoa egg power bowl with a side of pancakes. He requested some salsa for the bowl and the waiter brought out a tomatillo salsa that was excellent. The pancakes were outstanding - whole wheat with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. They were served with butter, greek yogurt whipped cream, persimmon preserves, and syrup. My husband got pesto eggs benedict which he said were excellent. My son got the kid's beef hot dog with a side of sweet potato chips. Which brings me to my only tiny complaint. The chips were WAY too salty. And I love salty foods. But other than that, we had a great dining experience and will definitely be back.
This place is fantastic. Everything is fresh and the atmosphere is light and happy. Perfect for brunch and then you can pop over to the Dallas Farmer's Market.
Food is always great, just always super disappointed in the kids menu. It would be nice to see some small plates of the main menu options on there.
Food was not good. Bland and overpriced
Lesson learned to come earlier to get the special
Nice place and healthy food. Maybe it‘s not afordable for everywee...
