Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner
Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes.
Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers. A full-service bar, serving signature boysenberry-infused cocktails, is also available.
Currently, we are following all government-issued regulations and seating is currently outside only. Thank you in advance for understanding and we are in this together.

Food was amazing like always! Great customer service, Especially from our waitress, who noticed I wasn’t feeling well (from riding the Silver bullet) and was extra attentive! Unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name.
For a price of $25.00 you get 4 big pieces of chicken, salad, choice of soup or rhubarb, choice of corn or cabbage, buttermilk biscuits, boysenberry preserves, mashed potatoes & gravy & a slice of pie. You can’t beat that anywhere.
This restaurant was perfect! Our host walked us in right away. No waiting. Sat us down and the server walked over within minutes. The server was very pleasant and happy to do her job. Made us feel right at home. The food was amazing! Fried chicken was the best I've ever tried. The boysenberry sauce was delicious and the biscuits with butter, perfect! I recommend you make reservations unless you wanna wait outside for three hours?
Food was super expensive. 37 dollars per person for breakfast. Service was slow and food was mediocre
It appears that the restaurant was short staffed. The current staff did their best to service the customers
Loved the chicken sliders and fries. The chicken fried steak was amazing. Definitely worth it.
No AC , food flavorless , no straws
You will never leave Mrs. Knotts hungry! It’s delicious!!
Don’t get the corn. Try the cabbage. I wish they offered Cole slaw. The fried chicken dinner can easily be split for two. Especially since you get both a salad and soup. I love their chicken noodle soup. Just amazing.
I realize that this is a tourist destination. With that said the food is poor and the prices are outrageous. I wanted my son, who is a foodie, to experience the Knott's chicken dinner once in his life. The food was so poor he could not even eat a small portion. I paid $80.00 for badly prepared food.
Always delicious !! It's a must if you go to knott's berry farm.
The restaurant seemed severely understaffed. We were seated for our 1215 reservation at about 1245. With two small children, that is a huge difference. The food was good, but our kids refused to eat the chicken. In the future we will go with adults only! :)
We went for the special Tea Party. It was wonderful! My only complaint is that the room where guests of the tea party are seated does not have air conditioning. The manager said “I’ve been telling them to fix it, but they haven’t.” From other posts, this A/C issue has been a problem for at least a week, maybe longer. Unfortunately it’s really hot in So Cal right now!
Disappointed. No seasoning on the chicken. Cold gravy over mashed potatoes. Not the same quality of food as in years past. Almost $25.00 for a cold tasteless chicken dinner.
Experience was disappointing. Service was not very good & menu was confusing with little to no explanation.
Dinner was delicious however it is still very expensive. My husband and I now only split the dinner. But everything was yummy and our server was extra polite.
Service was excellent. We did notice however that the quality of food varies from visit to visit. Chicken is always excellent, but corn and gravy were salty to taste. For seniors who have to watch salt level, it was a concern. Otherwise, we have had corn here before that was just buttery and gravy not at all salty. Overall, you can’t beat a Knott’s meal for quantity and value.
The chicken and biscuits were delicious! Our server was friendly and polite. Had a great experience. Highly recommend Mrs. Knotts Chicken Dinner.
Great food as usual
The 4 piece chicken dinner was plenty to split for my wife and me both. And; it comes with a piece of boysenberry pie to share.
Delicious fried chicken, bread was a little doughy, corn a bit salty, salad was fantastic, soup was great, and will come again for dinner this year.
Went for special Afternoon Tea. Food was disappointing. Boysenberry scone made from a poor quality mix. Tea for two...both have to agree on one type of tea. Sandwich selection very small and so is serving size. Each person gets one sandwich on small bread cut in half. Friend wanted to purchase another sandwich and was told we would have to order another tea service for a third person. It would have been another $17 to have another sandwich.
The egg salad had a dime-sized chunk of shell. That was the end of lunch for me.
Good intentions for Knott's 100 year anniversary. Too bad Knott's family no longer owns it. Service was good, ambiance was good. Lunch was mediocre and does not compare to typical fare served at tea shops.
We were underwhelmed. Our cups came with lipstick on them. After we got our food, it made sense that it was only $17. Wasn't very satisfying. The regular menu is much better and I have eaten there for that. I would not recommend the tea.
Thank you excellent as always. Happy to get back here
We were there for tea for 2.It wasn’t a traditional cream tea.The lemon scones were dry and no cream or jam offered, the madeleines were better.only allowed one sandwich choice usually a variety given and not cut in quarters like tea sandwiches but in halves. No tea room setting, no tablecloth (usu white)no genteel music, and chicken dinner diners in seated in same area. So,not really traditional esp scones without cream or jam just dry.I love knotts but tea needs a little refining.
We enjoyed the afternoon Tea with Sharon as our server. She’s been there for 44 years and was just so enjoyable! We had a minor hiccup that’s not even worth mentioning but the Manager Melissa came over and she was above and beyond awesome!! We’re definitely returning a few more times for Cordelia’s Afternoon Tea! I highly recommend it!!
Not the same chicken or biscuits as I remember as a kid, disappointed! And the old “farmhouse” feel is long gone….
An example of an American success story that is still around today. Good chicken, side dishes, and pies. A real nice place to take your family. Food is good and employees do a good job.
The only horrible thing was that there was no AC… It was really hot, it was really uncomfortable… We had a lot of fun though… Our waitress was wonderful
Mrs. Knott's is a classic as always! Great, quick service. Food as great as always. We were seated early when we arrived early, which we appreciated.
Our reservation was at 5:00pm, they were able to seat us early. Our server was great! You get a lot of food for your money.
Had such a great experience & our food was amazing!
Waitress and hostess was friendly and helpful. Food portions was amazing.
Waste of time and money. Chicken is not the same as it was before the remodel. Staff is rude.
Waitress was best we ever had. She made it extra special. My 6 year old grandson said she was so nice. He never says that. Wish I could remember her name and wish all waitresses could be like her.
Food was wonderful and filling. Service was top notch. Super friendly atmosphere and just plain good family dining. Thanks, Knotts!
Delicious food. Good portions go hungry or it will be too much food. Great experience
Out server and busses was amazing! We love the food everytime we come here to eat!
Was warm at our table, the waitress was sweating as well
Our usual server was nothing special but Tim was such an angel! He defended from the heavens whenever we needed something and fulfilled our request even though we weren’t his responsibility. Tim is THE undisputed MVP and I would absolutely visit again solely based off of his quality service alone.
