Service was very slow, food was ok, the sushi tasted incredibly fishy in a bad way. Will I come back? I don’t know. The drinks were good though
The $49 fixed price menu was superb. It’s great to share two so the six course meal becomes nine courses. However, it’s too much food for “older” people like us. Great value!
The ambiance is very nice , service is good. The food didn’t wow me , average tbh
Very fast and efficient service. Food was served quickly and nicely. Love the food, especially the uni pasta!
Fun night out with friends blessed to find this hidden gem!!! Can’t wait to come back!!! Loved the DJ and service!!!!
The food was mediocre and the waiter while he was trying was overwhelmed/ had too many tables to serve. It was also extremely overpriced for what it was.
I and colleagues from North Carolina were in LA on business. Mrs. Fish made the trip worth all the effort. Each dish we tried, and we tried quite a few, was perfectly prepared and presented. Of course, sushi. Toro. Uni. But also skewers and mains of to-die-for pork. The room is striking, with stunning Japanese art. A suspended aquarium. A very hip jazz band provided background mood. Service was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. And the whiskies! We started with a flight and went on from there.
It was a great experience. Great food and service by the staff. Good energy. Good music. Definitely enjoyed the live band. And most importantly loved the fish tank above us. I will go back.
This was an interesting experience. The location was good, I liked the ambiance and the live music was great! However we were seated at a table at the edge of the stairs on the second floor next to a closet where the music instruments were stored for the band. It felt like we were sitting in the corner with no view and it was very obscure. It was also very close to the band, which made it hard to talk and just loud overall. The food was good however, the service was slow and not as attentive as I would have liked. All in all, we did enjoy it as much as we could and I would return.
Ambiance, food, everything fabulous!! We'll be back!
I was not satisfied w/my cocktail and was hoping they would remake it but the waitress said they would have to charge extra to achieve the taste I wanted. Most places I go to, the bartender has no problem remaking the drink so that came as a surprise. She could have offered to put less tonic to alcohol ratio if price was an issue? Other than that, the food, service, and ambience were a wonderful experience overall! I’d love to come back.
We had to wait over a half hour for our reservation. The bar tender upstairs was very rude to me and my friends as we were trying to order he drinks and he seemed more concerned with entertaining his friends. By the time we finally got seated it took 20 minutes for a waiter to come around and 30 minutes to get waters. The food came out very slowly and items were forgotten. We ended up just leaving without some of the order because we were so over it. They did comp us some items because of the delay but the service was awful and I’d avoid going back.
Service was slow, mistakes, had to cancel orders because they took too long, got charged anyway and had to revise the bill twice.
Server was nice but very overwhelmed.
Bad staffing model.
Music too loud and had to shout across the table. Food was just okay.
Great food, service and atmosphere
Great place if you wanna drink. Music way to loud for a seafood restaurant. Sushi rice simply horrible. Do not order sushi. The only great thing about this place is the aquarium.
This was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. It was a birthday dinner, and I would actively tell people not to come here. They didnt bring our drinks out for 55 minutes, to start. The worst service. Just unbelievable
My son and his date said of Mrs Fish - "Best restaurant we have been to in LA...amazing night"
It was great
This was my second visit since it changed from a club to a restaurant and I really enjoy dining here. The atmosphere is great and the drinks are yummy. Their food is good too but pricey-- For me, it's definitely a special occasion type of place. It's random but I love the curry udon here.
My girlfriend loved it and we will go back really nice place and god was delicious
It was Devine and fun Nate was a professional and fun server to have
Amazing food and amazing service highly recommended!
Great place for a date
Enjoyed dining at Mrs Fish. Tried it for dine in LA. Nice ambiance, fast service and good food! Highly recommend for happy hour too!
The ambiance is fantastic. Very nice decor, multiple levels of dining space and bar space, perfect for a romantic date night. The food was delicious. I will be back!
Amazingly authentic. I've been to Japan so this place the Artwork, whiskey, cocktails and food experience is the most amazing ever. Highly recommend if you love sushi and all variations of ramen, appetizers, authentic grub, this is your place. I will definitely be back for several more occassions!!! 5 Stars for sure!!!
Our server seemed annoyed from the moment we sat down. He took our order and then never came back to see how we were doing or if we needed anything. We had to flag down a bus boy to ask for a beer. It took 30 min to be served, after an exchange about the long wait our server simply said " do you want it?, or i can take it back" then he promptly picked it up and waked away without acknowledging the complaint of the long wait. There are hundreds of restaurants in the city this is the first that under performed. I will say that the manger Lisa did come over and asked about what happened. She apologized for the experience. Lisa was the only positive thing about this place.
Decent sushi dinner in a nightclub setting with a live band and great ambience.
The food wasn’t bad, but it was not great. The noise level was loud and it was difficult to carry on a conversation without shouting. The vibe was overly trendy which distracted from the food. It might be a better experience to order to go. The atmosphere was overwhelming.
First time there and highly recommend. We went there for LA week and the menu and food was amazing. The service was great and sushi was fresh.
Design of the place is confusing, way too many clashing motifs and ideas. The food was decent, service was good. Went there on a Tuesday night and they had live music...which is bad. Really wish they warn customers they will have a band/live singers and give you an option to move away from the singer. A few tables actually stopped eating and requested to be moved during their meal because the music was so loud and annoying.
Excellent band and music, great for groups. Very modern interior. Fusion style of Japanese cuisine.
I have been here several times and usually have a perfect experience. This time, however, the service was pretty bad - incredibly slow. And they messed up one of our dishes (they didn't full fry the fried rice so it came out soggy and soaked in uncooked oil). Everyone ate it anyway.
But usually this spot is much better. I will be coming again and hope that my last visit was just an unlucky day!
I was very impressed by the decor, the staff and the presentation of the food. They were different and the vibe was very cool. A lot of things and different areas to have your meal at. The set up of the place is just insane and the fish tanks?? Top notch. Oh and to note another thing that people probably look over is the music they play. I was like taken aback by the more "hip" songs they played which made me want to recommend it to more of my friends. Theres nothing better than hearing good music being played in a restaurant, and a super nice restaurant at that. Oh and they also can do events like parties in certain areas. There was a college event there and it was pretty cool to have them celebrate there. It definitely made it more lively. There was a mishap with one of our orders but the manager or the owner i think, she was very accommodating and friendly, I appreciated her help to fix the situation and the server me and my friend had. They handled that so well, the best way i have ever seen any other place handle an error to be honest. Great job, great staff Mrs. Fish. Now, if they had a bigger sushi menu i'd be dropping to my knees in praise. Still worth it. Still would recommend.
There were 8 of us celebrating friends birthdays. We all opted for the dineLA menu, which was a great value for the amount of food. The drinks, food and ambience were fantastic. The service was a bit slow and the music was way too loud. Overall great night.
This place is very pleasing to the senses and great for a date or a group of friends. Food choices were great and no sticker shock. I will dine here again.
Celebrated our daughter’s 21 at Birthday. From the cocktails to the food and the service was a wonderful experience. Was happy we choose Mrs Fish to celebrate her birthday.
Nice vibe. Great music. Amazing food. Great drinks! Live band came out around 9 and it was an amazing addition to the vibe without overpowering your conversations.
Had an enjoyable experience. Our waiter, Brian was very good. After dinner we went to their whiskey lounge and the bartender, Lawrence was very friendly had a great experience. We plan on returning
I had been to Mrs. Fish on several occasions for drinks, more specifically their excellent Japanese Whiskey selection.
This place has ambiance and then some. I love the amazing art adorning the walls and the massive overhead fish aquarium. Even the vintage Harley tucked into the corner of the whiskey bar is gawkworthy. I have seen (and smelled) the food on my previous visits and have been wanting to find a time to have dinner there.
So, for my birthday I wanted to go and try the food as well. I was a bit worried because I was with some very discerning foodies. Needless to say, everyone loved everything about our meal. From the chili edamame, to the serrano peppers. The sushi to the miso black cod. Even their green tea ice-cream was unique and delicious.
Everyone was so impressed that we decided to come back later this month for another celebratory dinner.
Also on Friday and Saturday, they have fantastic live music.
Can't wait to come back.
