    We visited Mr. Vain on Sunday night for our anniversary and it was excellent. On Sundays they have live jazz and $3 oysters, the vibes were immaculate. We had a gorgeous bottle of wine, the food was incredible, and our service was fantastic. Such a great experience and a beautiful way to spend our anniversary. We cannot wait to come back!

    Food was amazing. However, wine selection was not great. Staff were lovely but run off their feet due to staff member being late. We will definitely be back.

    I recently visited Mr. Vain with high expectations, especially given the $119 per person banquet menu. Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming, particularly in terms of food quality and overall value. The main course included Asian greens, but the bok choy was overcooked—chewy and difficult to eat. The wagyu brisket, which I was especially looking forward to, turned out to be dry and lacked the rich, tender quality you’d expect from such a premium cut. I couldn’t even manage a second bite. Surprisingly, chips were served alongside the mains. It felt out of place and gave the impression of a tavern buffet rather than a refined banquet experience. Dessert was described as a Japanese pudding, but the flavor didn’t align with that description. It tasted more like a Southeast Asian dessert, with a thick, overly sweet syrup that didn’t quite work. For $119 per head, I expected a well-executed and cohesive dining experience. Instead, both the quality and quantity of the food left much to be desired. The banquet menu definitely needs refinement to better reflect its price point and offer a more satisfying experience.
