The ‘Call Him Mr Raider’ set menu was not worth $79pp. The chicken in the bao was tough, the flavours in the duck did not compliment one another and once again the meat was not cared for. The cucumber salad was very sour and too overpowering. The ambience, service and cocktails were fantastic however the food did not meet expectations and the price point was not justifiable.

The service was excellent. Our waitress struck the perfect balance – attentive without being intrusive. She checked in at just the right times and made sure everything was running smoothly without hovering. The food was equally impressive. Every dish was thoughtfully presented, and the portion sizes were generous without being overwhelming. The flavours were bold and well-balanced, true to the Pan-Asian style, and the plating made the whole experience feel elevated. Overall, Mr. Vain’s delivered on every front – delicious food, inviting atmosphere, and impeccable service. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to, whether for a relaxed dinner or a special night out with jazz as the backdrop. The perfect end to our evening at Mr. Vain’s was the standout dessert – a beautifully plated coconut sago with matcha sauce, vanilla bean ice cream, pistachio nuts, and a touch of macadamia liqueur. Our waitress recommended it, and we’re so glad she did – it was an absolute highlight. The balance of textures and flavours was spot on: creamy, nutty, subtly sweet, and just the right amount of indulgence. Not only was it delicious, but it looked visually stunning – a true feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. This dessert alone is reason enough to return to Mr. Vain’s. Highly recommended.

We visited Mr. Vain on Sunday night for our anniversary and it was excellent. On Sundays they have live jazz and $3 oysters, the vibes were immaculate. We had a gorgeous bottle of wine, the food was incredible, and our service was fantastic. Such a great experience and a beautiful way to spend our anniversary. We cannot wait to come back!
