MR CHOW - TriBeca Ratings and Reviews
I've eaten at Mr Chow many times in LA and NY but this was the worst food I've ever eaten from Mr Chow. I understand that a pre fix menu for New Years Eve is challenging but the menu chosen was not a good selection and at 85 per person it was a joke. I felt taken advantage of and it has changed my opinion of Mr Chow completely. The worst New Years Eve meal I've ever had.
Great welcome from the host/hostess. Bartender was almost to the point of annoyance— when we sat down. We were 30 min prior to reservation but seemed to be rushed through our drinks and our meal. Not the same experience as 57th street location. The ambiance and vibe is different. The showmanship and polished Service wasnt represented in our meal that evening.
Overall the food was good— some minor corrections with servings needed to be made when we ordered. TriBeCa location is different for certain but even on its own merits it’s good not great.
I took my wife here for 29th Birthday, I must say this a great restaurant , excellent customer service , i didn't have to wait to be seated , amazing wine list , the food was delicious , the flavor was to die for. After eating here i placed Chinese Food to a higher standard , i don't even order out anymore just because the quality that Mr Chow had to offer was so good. All the waiters were excellent , very respectful and top of the line customer service. I definitely want to come back and dine at this location
Food tasted as if it were sitting out before being served to us. The duck was served with bones in it, not sliced just ripped apart. Nothing tasted great, subpar and the price was astronomical. I don’t mind paying for good food and service, but it was not worth the money
We were not even given menu. The waiter said, I know what to bring you and you will love it. The Hope purpose is to boost the bill. The food was pretty bad and tasteless. Its sad, we used to really like this restaurant. This is the second time in a row we have this horrible experience and we will never go back.
I hosted a birthday dinner for my husband - 21 people and it was beautiful, delicious, flawless, and easy for me. We had vegans, veggies and pescatarians in our group (as well as those who eat everything) and all were easily accommodated by the menu without any need for custom plates or special requests. Elegant - yet casual if you want it to be. Our group came at 7 and left at 11. We had a blast. The service was perfect. And the compliments the next day were numerous. Great experience.
This is one of my favorite places. The food and service is always excellent. It is a bit pricey so if you are on a budget, save for a special occasion. But i It is much better than the up town location. (which is a bit too corporate) This has much more trendy feel. Outstanding.
We were seated at a long row of two tops and to say we were close to our neighbors was an understatement. The restaurant was also incredibly loud which was frustrating for conversation. We had about 5 different people tend to us through the course of the meal and weren’t sure who our actual server was. Food was fine, aside from the duck not worth the prices. Shrimp fried rice was devoid of any flavor and crispy beef was more fried than anything. Prefer Tao to this.
I went to dine with 3 people. We had ordered off the menu, but it was not the prefix menu. However, when we received the bill we were charged for the prefix. When we inquired about it, the waiter said he was 95% sure the prefix was more cost efficient. When we asked him to run the itemized bill it was $70 more expensive then what we ordered. He corrected the bill, but was not very apologetic and the manager did not come over to apologize. I have dined here a lot and never experienced this before. Not sure what was going on this night, but very disappointed.
Have never felt more rushed in a restaurant - the wait staff couldn't have been more frantic in their race to clear up dishes after each bite! And the place was just way too noisy, since there were several large parties, who seemed to think they were at a frat party! Nothing relaxing or enjoyable about the experience. Plus, the food was bland and mediocre.
Overall, a disappointing waste of money, and a marked contrast to the amazing experiences we've had at the Mr. Chow in Miami.
I would give this negative stars if that was an option… The food was mediocre and the price was exorbitant. The service was not great… They kept trying to upsell us. When the portions came we couldn’t believe our eyes… The amount of food was so small that it was incredible that they could serve it without being embarrassed. I would never go here again. I would never send anyone here, ever! They should be ashamed of themselves.
Horrible. The food is blend, and comparable to your cheapest neighborhood Chinese takeout. Portions are small, not that I am after huge plates but side dishes on the menu are marked as $8.50/person. The portion that has arrived definitely looked like an appropriate size for one person but of course it cost $17. The restrooms look outdated, and dirty. The staff is overly "attentive". Three different people will come to check on us at all times, asking the same questions. It's impossible to relax and eat, and actually have a conversation without being interrupted every 3 minutes. The only good thing was outside seating, which make sure you have to reserve otherwise they'll tell you it's all booked. Certainly would not recommend this place or ever return.
