MR CHOW - TriBeca
NY Magazine wrote in 2006 "To eat at a Mr Chow restaurant is to participate in a roving party, one that has migrated through four decades, three continents, & an awful lot of soup dumplings."
TriBeCa's Executive Chef Kwok Hor, is a highly respected professional in the Chinese Cuisine Industry & has given many lectures at The Hong Kong Culinary Association.
MR CHOW's menu is a combination of old authentic Beijing, Original Recipes, Chicken Satay, MR CHOW Noodles & Ma Mignon all were created by our passionate & skillful chefs. Also, on the Menu is one of the best prepared Beijing Duck in the world.
Prix Fix NYE early seating was $85/PP which was to be expected but Prix Fix usually has at least a glass of Prosecco included. Mr Chow charges $20 PER GLASS!!!!! the bill for 4 (one was a 7 year old child) with tip was $600 which to be honest wasnt worth it. The food was OK, nothing special and felt very rushed because they obviously had other seatings to juggle, but it was definitely rushed and over priced. I wouldnt go back for the Prix Fix option.
One can’t beat the Mr. Chow TriBeCa experience. It is consistently excellent and consistently impresses my guests. It’s classy without being pretentious, and the professionals of the staff is impressive. Their recommendations are always on target. The dumplings and the Dover sole are standouts, both in presentation and flavor. It is a great NYC experience, even for a seasoned NYC diner.
Very rushed service, waiters will make you rush your dinner because there is an another reservation coming for your table.
Love it there. Food and service is great. Will definitely be back.
I blew the manager
Amazing as usual. Never lets me down!!!
There was way too much happening. Servers were literally running through the dining room, kept bumping our chairs.
All the food was brought out at the same time and we felt very rushed to turn the table over.
Wouldn’t go back
Everything was good
I have never been in such a noisy restaurant. It was almost impossible to enjoy our food. I am a Tribeca resident but will never come back.
Awful! Food was overpriced. I’ve had better takeout for a tenth of the price. I absolutely hated every minute I was dining there. I don’t know how they can live on a forty year reputation and serve this garbage. I told the manager I believed who was in “charge” that I was dissatisfied and he represented the restaurant perfectly....lacking any personality. Stay far far away.
Great food great service
Très très cher et mauvaise nourriture
Food is by far not what it used to be
First course served cold and no apologies from staff who simply took it away and brought back with no comment
Glasses were taken away before finishing and the whole experience was rushed as if they needed the table.
Overpriced and very disappointing considering it was a birthday event
Food was not great.
Over priced and over rated.
Would not go back.
This is literally the loudest restaurant I have been to anywhere in the world. It was a mad house full of chaos and disarray. Don’t waste your money. It isn’t right for business or personal. And the waiters don’t even know how the food is prepared. It was a disaster from start to finish. We had to laugh at the end.
Amazing experience. Truly a 5 star restaurant
One of our absolute favorite date nights. Food was amazing, as always. Staff is warm and friendly. Never back soon enough!
Service inattentive and food spotty
It’s a place you always want to return to. It always lives up to the excellence of your first experience. Staff food and ambisnce. The gambler’s duck is one of a kind
Always great service and the food is consistent.
Amazing and stellar!! Food was spectacular and ambiance was chic and trendy. Service was impeccable and the Server asked if he could pick our menu since it was our first time. We told him what we didn’t like and he brought us an abundant but sufficient amount of food which was all amazing! Next time I hope to see the noodle making in house which we missed. A+ over all and highly recommend!
Aggressive service. Rushed , to many servers on the table asking the same questions. Never had a private moment .
My mother visiting from Newfoundland , Canada
Service wasn’t professional & pricing of overall foods were super overrated.
The food at Mr. Chow's is way overpriced and no better in quality than the cheapest of cheap Chinese restaurants. The service was poor to nil: inattentive at the beginning and then rushed at the end to make room for the next victims. I will never go there again.
Excellent food and service
I must say the service is very good. The food unfortunately is very bland and was underwhelming. The food is not worth the prices they charge.
I had an excellent experience from the moment I arrived. I really could not find fault in any part of the experience. The staff were ALL excellent and my compliments to the managers, they created an excellent environment for their staff and obviously train hard to deliver the client experience.
I had a father/daughter dinner date and we were both very impressed.
Food was amazing! For some reason you guys think I didn’t go, but I did. It’s ALWAYS a great experience.
Outstanding as always
Service is wonderful. Restaurant is quite lovely. They have a nice terrace.
But the food was incredibly disappointing. Bland, just nothing special. We ate family style so we all tried multiple dishes. None of them were anything special. At this price tag I expect a great deal more.
Food was below average. Noodles over cooked. Filet lacked flavor. We left disgusted with food.
Tiny portions and extremely expensive. Orange beef was literally beef flavored chunks of deep fried cardboard. Gross. Will never dine there again.
Sceney vibe. Fun for people watching.
Possible the most overrated restaurant I've ever had this displeasure of experiencing. Food was mediocre at best and price was 5x of what you would expect at a similar eatery in Chinatown. Atmosphere is soulless.
Mr Chow is about terrible food and below average ambience . Couldn’t understand why the restaurant was exorbitantly expensive . Out of our 6 nights in New York , We had 5 lovely dinners , this was the only one we regret . We wasted our lovely evening and so much money . Not recommended at all .
Service was the worst we’ve ever had. Was forced to do family style and was not told a la carte was an option until asking several times, extremely rushed and waiters started pulling our plates away before we finished eating. Food was not good for the price. Fish was undercooked. The rice we ordered came at the end of the meal when everyone was done eating. Waiter spilled water all over the table and was very rude.
