The place is horrible and it’s a scam. They force you to order the most expensive items on the menu or won’t serve you.
Delicious and beautiful place, one of our musts in Miami
they sell the service
The food was
Long overdue get together with friends and Mr Chow made it a complete memorable experience.
Always a great time when dining at Mr. Chow!
Absolutely amazing loved every dish
The food is simply TERRIBLE! They have to update the menu
They presented flourescent pink ground chicken for lettuce wrap that tasted like cardboard, an incredible multitud of people!! A never again experience.
They tripled our order when we told them specifically what we wanted and how much of everything we wanted. Also the chicken satay was cold
They switched our table from inside to outside, we are very busy was the excuse for everything from bad service to switching our table to poor drinks quality to cold food to bad attitude from the servers to the managers.
Really left a bad taste.
Very poor service. Once dinner was served, no one came to check on the table. I flagged down a server to ask for the check and he never returned. After waiting 30 minutes i flagged down the manager — who didn’t even apologize — and he directed someone to bring me a check. I then had to wait another 10 minutes for my to go bag. This was our first time back to Mr. Chow since 2010. We were celebrating our anniversary and I wish we chose another restaurant. Would not recommend and will not be returning.
Worst dining experience. We have been dining at Mr. Chows in both Los Angeles and Miami for 8 years now. We’ve never had a bad experience. Tonight was horrible. The service was terrible. We went for a family dinner, a party of 8. We went with what we always do which was chefs recommendation - 4 apps and 4 entrees for 8 of us, which was recommended by our sever. The night started off well, my son loved the glazed prawns so much that he wanted another order. We asked the server for one more order which he said no problem. Around that time it stayed to get busy. We had a 6:30 reservation, and this was about 715 when we placed our second prawns order. At that time our server went missing, didn’t see him at all. Another server stepped in, who was very overwhelmed and very rude. After our 5 patient kids and 4 month old waited until 815 for our order of prawns I asked for a manager. I was told he would be coming but another 25 minutes went by until my friend found a manager. He said he would come but he kept getting distracted and my friend had to get him again and walk him over.
I explained how dissapointed we were, and how we didn’t have a sever nor anyone else that had checked on us for over an hour, no water service and waiting for prawns. Along with 2 of my kids not receiving their dessert. He spoke over me and said that “once you place an order you can’t order anymore food, the kitchen will not and can not make more food for your table you can only order one time.” I said that never happened before, and if that is the case that the servers should tell us when we place the order. He spoke over me and started shouting to me that I needed to let him do his job. The issue was us waiting for over an hour for a dish of glazed prawns with no service or help. The place was packed, clearly not following any covid guidelines. I am so dissapointed with the service.
The manager I spoke to was Stephane Docanto he told me he’d been there for 11 years - we won’t ever go back.
We came for a birthday dinner. We got in and seated around 10’ish. We sat at the cabana it was very classy vibe. The waiter Captain came over after we sat for about 40 minutes to be exact. He expressed we should order the three course meals. We had a party of 5 and two were vegan. Therefore we chose to go with the alacarte option. Meaning we purchase all items individually and everyone will have their own everything. It started when he said they don’t have veggie fried rice. Hmm...interesting because I have dined here before and we were served veggie rice. The birthday girl requested something he said that was also sold out. For a five star restaurant of this stature it’s almost unbelievable that they are out of everything. The Captain never came back to check in on us we were asking the bar table server to please send the captain over. So we received one two pots of veggie fried rice and the mushroom rice. We did order alacarte meaning we expressed everyone would get their food alacarte. Now as time progressed we stopped another server and asked for the captain yet again. I stated that all good did nit come out the rice being one and two entrees as well as one starter. He then stated the kitchen is closed. I said excuse me?Food we ordered way before the kitchen is closed is not going to be served? I then asked for a manager. Well thirty minutes have passed and no manager nor any site of him. It’s now midnight, and we see a gentleman - I asked him if he were a manager he stated yes; I’m one of them. I then stated we have a problem we ordered 5 pots of rice he stated you can’t get that it’s impossible rice has to be shared and it’s $20 a pot. I said, did I express to you at any point that the $20 is an issue? He throws up his hands asked what I wanted him to do cook it? Rude and and disrespectful as ever! He then stated we can give u a round of drinks if that’s what you want. I’ll never eat here again they treated us as if our patronizing them was unwanted. Terrible
We have been waiting around 40 minutes to get a table
Way too many people, cero social distancing. While waiting to be seated, everyone was without a mask. Not covid friendly at all!
If you are concerned with covid or social distancing, this is the last place you want to dine in Miami. I went on a Friday night and it was packed, plexiglass between the tables of 2 only, the waiters were all running about like a chicken with no head. You had to flag them down for another drink, they served you and never came back to the table. The food, however, is delicious.
The food was awful! I’ve eaten at the Mr Chows in London and LA and had amazing food. I think the Mr. Chows in South Beach has seen better days. I went with my two boys and the bill for the 3 of us was $240 before tip for one cocktail two bottles of water and a few things to eat.
Service was horrible. Mr Chows is no longer a special place to dine in miami. It’s a shame to see a great restaurant go down hill so fast - it’s not the Mr Chows of 2010 that’s for sure.
It seemed like the staff did not have a clue what they were doing. Poor management and organization. The food was outstanding but very frustrating getting drinks and length of time for food without being updated.
Terrible food, reheated. Beijing duck really poor!
Service bad.
the service was terrible. the food was gross. most of the time the waiters were almost ignoring us.and took forever for food , drinks and check. over all not good. i loved this place the 15 previous times. also enforce a dress code , shorts, t-shirts and hats can just stay at the olive garden
I’ve been to Mr. chows both in Miami And in New York and have never been disappointed. One of my favorite restaurants.
They did a great job with arranging the restaurant for COVID and anyone who may be concerned should not be.
Muy buena experiencia. Buena comida y buen servicio Pero ni la comida ni el servicio justifican tan alto precio
I was underwhelmed with the food and more so with the service. Our server made us feel rushed and pressured to order immediately. We weren’t super hungry and apparently didn’t order enough to please him. Definitely in no rush to go back.
Amazing as always
Last year I ate at me chow and the service and food was horrible.decided to give them another chance maybe it was just an off night. It’s confirmed it’s the worst service and food period. They will never take my money again. Let’s just mention the cost for 4 people $600. Biggest rip off. Don’t go!
Un restaurant caro que no tiene la calidad que debería. Usan la pandemia para justificar una baja en la calidad y el servicio. Mo regresaré
Phenomenal service and food!
Not what I expected. The Las Vegas location was much better
Felt like being at a train station ... servants rushing in the aisle... not relaxing at all and apps were bland and food over priced for quality
Busy but food quality is not there anymore. Screwed up two of the dishes and didn’t replace with new ones.
Didn’t get time to enjoy. Staff where taking our plates and we hadn’t finished appetizers even thou I had asked them to give us 30 minutes before dishes. $600 later. Completely rushed. Will stick with the New York location
The food was just not what we expected taste or quality wise for a total of $500 for 4 people.
Awesome time at Mr Chow!
It was Valentines Day do the menu was limited. However I saw a couple of locals that ordered off the menu. Food was excellent
Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life.
FOOD IS DISGUSTING!!!!I WENT HERE ON VALENTINES DAY AND WAS VERY DISPLEASED WITH THE FOOD.
Packed. Beyond. Do not care about masks or covid.
We felt extremely rushed. Just two of us and we spent over $300 and we had a 7pm reservation and were leaving before 8pm. Overall the food was excellent but not a great experience.
No COVID controls, the restaurant was packed with no controls whatsoever. Service was surpassed due to quantity of clients. ill really concern about covid protocols in this restaurant. Its a shame !
We have eaten at Mr Chow many times over the years but were disappointed about our experience last Friday. This is a beautiful restaurant which serves great Chinese food and has great service (what you would expect when you pay over $100 per person). However this time we regret not leaving immediately.
In covid times you expect to find restaurants where tables are 6 feet apart and total capacity is limited for people to be safe. Not at Mr Chow! Even though the outdoor area was open, the indoor area had more tables than in any of our previous visits. Even the lounge area next to the bar was converted into dining space with more tables. We were a group of 6 and were seated at a table supposed to seat 4 and had other tables right next to us. It was so crammed that it was even hard to walk in the aisles between tables in the restaurant.
With the restaurant trying to serve hundreds of guests at the same time, quality service becomes impossible to provide. The appetizers arrived before our napkins, we had to serve water and wine ourselves because waiters were overwhelmed and some of the dishes arrived cold or not up to the standards you would expect. The pekin duck, which in the past was presented to the table before being carved, arrived carved so you have no idea when it was prepared. When you look at the wine list you find wines which cost $10 at the supermarket priced over $70.
The bottom line is: most high end restaurants limit capacity to make people feel safe in covid times and provide a premium experience. Mr Chow seems to be trying to catch up, filling up the restaurant to unreasonable levels which might make up for some of the money lost during the pandemic but works against the customer experience. My advice: avoid the restaurant until they go back to the way they have always operated prior to covid, the reason why we returned so many times to the restaurant....
