Whether sitting in Beverly Hills or Knightsbridge London; Mr. Chow's superb kitchen delivers in equal measure. The decor is unique and the restaurant has a very vibrant feel to it. Swift and attentive service with a smile-a night we will remember for quite some time. Many thanks Mr. Chow!
I genuinely have to say the service from the moment we entered to when we left was second to none; courteous, professional but with an element of friendliness not easily found within the 5 star restaurant fraternity. We are privileged to have been patrons of what is an institution for almost 30 years, and where every visit has been of equal standing.
Mr Chow is an absolute must on the list of "100 things to do before you die"!!
Anyone who knows MR C or has been to one of their various locations, this is not for a quick reasonable meal. $$ and worth every penny, really great food, really great service. What else is there to say!
mr. chow is really a great place. the food is incredible, service is impeccable... if you really want to impress someone, this is the place!
it's hard to find an upscale Chinese restaurant in Los Angeles - but mr chow is just that. let your server know what foods you like and dislike, and he'll make recommendations. I always suggest taking that route over looking at the menu - much more fun! over the years, I have gone vegan and developed food allergies to wheat and soy, which really limits me at most restaurants, especially Asian food. but the guys at mr chow always make sure I have great food on my plate! they are very accommodating.
this is my absolute favorite restaurant and has been for 10 years!
The food is lovely but the tables as all others have reviewed are too close together. They have to move the table for the person to get out. However Paul McCartney was there on our night
Great experience, Mr Chow is # 1 in my list.
My Favorite, alway great atmosphere, service and AMAZING food!!!!
It was my girlfriend and I first time. We initially came because we wanted to experience celebrity dining, we figured if celebrities went the food has to be good. I thought it would have been a quiet atmosphere but it's not, it's more of businesses soup kitchen atmosphere when it comes to the noise level. If you're wondering what to wear, it's pretty much optional. I recommend getting all different dishes with various tastes. The shrimp and walnut was very tasty and the spicy sauce is soooo good.
Regularly in LA on business and always go to Mr. C with colleagues on last night in town. This has been a ritual for the past 15 years and Mr. C never disappoints.
This restaurant is a mediocre tourist trap.
The service was outstanding and the food was amazing! It was a great experience!
For $62 per person, we got a couple of small plates of noodles, steamed rice, broccoli, sprouts and one very small beef dish! This is the most pretentious overpriced restaurant I've been in.
We went to celebrate our sister-cousin's birthday and she was sooooooo excited. Nooooooo, wait a minute, we ALL were!! We arrived pretty early. However, valet was courteous, polite to explain the hours of operation and allow us to wait in our car out of the cold. Once inside, the ambiance was great! The servers were EXCELLENT!! The flash fried collard greens were delicious! The shrimp rolls were something to write home about. Mr. Chow Noodles looks like spaghetti with sauce on top however it was great. The lobster was well seasoned.... KISS THE CHEF! After dinner, the waiters came over to sing Happy Birthday to the honoree. Awesome guys for the lovely rendition. Can't wait to go back to enjoy it yet again! THANKS Mr. Chow....
Mr.Chow simply rocks! Still a hot spot after all these years..
First visit to the location. Unfortunately, the food was bland without one hint of seasoning. The taste were all very soft and unappealing. We had the 2 appetizers and 2 dinner course option at $59/person. The shrimp fried rice was white rice with peas and steamed. The chicken joanna was super bland and not sure if sauce was missing. The best thing of the night were the green beans! Overall, we saw celebrities but didn't enjoy our food. Very cramped and not a romantic place to go at all.
I was not a fan. All the hype about that place and I felt like it could have come from a $7.99 chinese buffet. Not to mention it's overpriced. I just don't see the draw.
We were very impressed with this restaurant, absolutely great food and fun experience.
Made reservations through Open Table. Received the reservation time I wanted. I took 2 clients to dinner, and the food and service was impeccable. Only issue I had was Valet parking. It was 9 dollars, I gave the Valet a 20 dollar bill, and he brought my car and disappeared with my money. Food is high priced, so do not come with light pockets.
We loved the experience from the very moment we walked in. Very nice dining experience with delicious family style meal. Bonus, Cheryl Tiegs was sitting right next to us!
My husband and I decided to try out this place and see what all the hype was about last week when we were in LA. Advise - don't waste your time or money! There is WAY better chinese food in the city. The service was horrible to match the food. Our waiter was very pushy and kept wanting us to order more than we wanted. The tables are also so close together than your conversations are never private. Needless to say, my husband and I left there very disappointed.
My FAVORITE Restaurant in LA and one of my Top 10 anywhere in the USA! Wonderful food, outstanding service and a very cool location. If you haven't eaten at Mr. Chow, it's a must!! Great "star" watching as well!!
Went there for my daughter's birthday . Always consistent. Good food, ambiance
Great dinner with my daughter on Saturday night on our visit to LA. Food was great as usual but tonight was extra cool as Sir Elton John was dining there at a table right behind us! Very cool experience as always!
I had not been to Mr. Chow's for at least a decade and chose it specifically for my friend and me to celebrate my birthday. We both know and enjoy great food, and I remembered how fabulous the food had been on previous occasions. We shared an appetizer which was good but not as good as the same item in a dozen other places; the dumplings were tough and without taste; the drunken fish was outstanding. The restaurant brought a piece of birthday cake which was good. The martinis (I only have a martini on my birthday) were perfection. Service was very good, thoughtful servers without being intrusive. Since they were not crowded, we were able to talk and enjoy the ambiance and occasion even if disappointed overall in the food.
Awesome! packed even on a monday! food was amazing too!
The food was wonderful as expected. The restaurant was not filled yet as it was early but my husband and I dined next to two other very friendly couples and the atmosphere was celebratory. Great experience. The maitre de was fabulous and we will be back for the noodles, duck and fiery beef. Fabulous.
The food was too salty and overly priced, but a 48 minute wait till getting seated without even an acknowledgement or apology is too arrogant even for an LA hotspot.
1. Service was enthusiastic, though pushing their overpriced champagne as soon as we sat down seemed rather 'cruise boat' tacky. Strangely, we didn't spot a cocktail listing anywhere, inventive or otherwise.
2. Tables VERY close together. Menu choices are definitely on the tired side and limited - confusing format as well. Food was so-so at best (some dishes better than others). Some patrons were craning their necks to try and spot celebs (that are wisely long gone).
Amazing this place is still around, considering the present food scene in LA and all the competition (and the rent!). They need to re-invent themselves ASAP, or sadly, this sinking Chinese junk will be sunk. Presently, not worth the bucks.
everything about this dining experience was amazing. Best Chinese food ever!!
Excellent drinks at the bar, best chinese, vibrant scene
We had the best time there celebrating my best friend birthday.Patrick the head waitor was excellent in service. He cater to my every need me being a vegetarian and the other people in my group ate meat. I would recommend this place for a special celebration
Everything was fantastic about Mr. Chow's. The service was top notch and the waiter even offered a menu suggestion for my two boys (11 and 14 years old) that everyone would enjoy sharing. I will be back!
This place has been on our "most go to" list with a another foodie couple. It was good not fantastic. It would have been nice if they had a cocktail list which they don't. The food was good not great. I heard so much hype about this place but it's clearly because it's a scene and not about the food. They drinks and food were over priced. Believe me we don't mind paying $200+ per person for food and drinks but it better be worth it. Glad we checked this place off our list but don't see us going back anytime soon.
A must see if you come by Beverly Hills.
Be prepared to wait at least 30 mins past your reservation time.
Vi visited Mr.Chow in our vacation in Hollywood, and I must say we were disappointed with the food...the food had next to no taste... so we concluded that the only reason people visit Is to be seen by paparazzi and to see celebrities....and we saw some celebrities there, so if you like Hollywood celebrities this is the place for you.....but overprized tasteless food.
It was my birthday dinner had a party of twelve people. Was sitting down for an hour before even getting any menus.food was brought two hours later staff was really rude and disrespectful. Would never recommende this restaurant to any one ..The manager was really rude to my party he even sm apped the menu from my friend.
the valentines dinner menu was a bad idea... but that's pretty much any restaurant on valentines day.
Food way overrated, mediocre at best and extremely over-priced. A money-making machine running on location and hype.
It was my first time ever, visitinig a "Berverly Hills", restaurant. I was a little nervous, due to not being familiar with a Mr Chow menu. Let alone, a Beverly Hills, restaurant. However, the staff present, created an ease atmosphere, they were very very helpful. Bottom line, wonderful experience; everyone if possible, treat yourself to this experience, at least once!.
The hostess, person who takes your order, and cashier was very pushy. Tried to up sell prefix menus and tried to make us feel bad because we were not ordering entrees. Party of 4 and ordered at least 8 primis. It's not what she said but how she said it.
