ive been to mr chow a few times in the last 10 years, and its never been fantastic, but this was just terrible. prix fixe menu for our valentines day date was 95$. the duck was bland and overcooked. the lobster was mostly shells, nearly impossible to get the meat out of. there was no butter provided, so it was dry and bland, and for dessert there was 1 slice of cheap frozen chocolate cake for 2 people. service was slow. we spent 300$ for one of the most disappointing meals i can remember. went home hungry, made myself a sandwich when i got home. i dont think there was a happy diner in the place. ive never seen a more clear cut example of a restaurant using a famous name for a total cash grab. awful awful awful. never again!

We are fine with paying for a nice meal, but the food here was rough to say the least. I would not return even if it was a value meal. The food was not good at all, I don’t know why so many people are here. But I should have listened to the reviews on yelp.

The service was amazing; they pulled the tables out for you when we were coming in and out. Also gave 1 long stem rose to each lady for Valentines. loved that. The Sea bass with pine nuts are to die for. Just for that I must come back again. The servings are a bit small, but will def be back. Loved how they accomodated us and gave us a booth.

been meaning to go to Mr. Chow for several years. Thought Valentines Day would be fun.

So the scene is bizzare. West LA debut trash of sorts. Overweight men in warm up suits and baseball hats, with their dates dressed as you can imagine, The food, however was bland, not very good, and not particularly interesting. The high quality service doesn't make up for the mediocre food, and the weird scene. Been there, done that. Buyer beware

The food was mediocre at best and tables so close together it was uncomfortable. I have been in LA and NY and think it has just lost its edge. Sad but likely won’t return

On plus side bartender was great

Tried the famous Mr Chow in Beverly Hills on a Monday night. The food was outstanding! Thought it strange that they came by with only spicy sweet sauce - and no mild or medium spicy variations. When I asked for something less spicy they just gave me the regular soy sauce. No big deal but a bit odd. We had chicken and tofu main courses with traditional scallion Pancake and another appetizer. Food was all outstanding, and expensive as well. Loud environment but not too bad - we could converse with our neighbors easily. Certainly one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever dined at.

Never again!!!!!!! It’s not a restaurant it’s a ZOO
We had reservations for 8:30
We arrived on time and went to check in. The host was pretty rude and didn’t really know her job. The restaurant was packed and about 50 people were waiting to be seated. After about 15 minutes of waiting we went again to check the status. Of course the host didn’t even know how long it would take for her to seat us. Poor service unless you very well connected and than you will be seated right away. The restaurant is very congested and super smelly. Really needs renovation. We got tired of waiting after half an hour and went somewhere else. Would never ever step there again. For sure I would not recommend anyone going there.

Wholeheartedly disappointed in Mr Chow given high hopes and expectations heading into my first time visiting the restaurant. First, the service (or lack thereof). Despite being seated 30 minutes after our reservation, we were understanding given this is a Saturday night and very busy. Once seated, we were visited by our server only one time and that was to take our order. Our food arrived 45 minutes later. Our server did not check on our table, offer to refill our wine, or see how we liked the food. The bus staff were nice and did a good job at filling our water. Second, the food. The appetizers, included Mr. Chow noodles that were lukewarm and topped with a tasteless red colored slop. The dumplings were also tasteless and lukewarm. Both were poorly presented on metal trays with the dumpling sauce in a dirty glass jar. For the main course, we ordered sauteed rice with shrimp as well as crispy beef and chicken. The rice was served in a tin can and was steamed instead of fried/sauteed. The shrimp was mushy and again, no flavor. The crispy beef looked like fingerling potatoes (small, long thin strips of beef coated in batter and deep fried). The chicken was watery and also virtually tasteless. We weren't provided with soy sauce which would have helped with the flavor issue at least. Finally, the ambiance was poor. There was a very small bar inside the entrance and the decor was as plain as the food - white walls with barely any noticeable pieces that alluded to the edgy, trendy celebrity type vibe we had expected. If you're expecting something anywhere akin to Tao, you'll be sorely disappointed. Keep in mind the tables are touching side to side, so if you sit in a booth the server will have to pull the entire table out for you to exit. Incredibly awkward. Be careful not to trip over the electric cables tied underneath the chair. Couldn't be more hokey. Needless to say, I will never be back. I'd rather spend $175 elsewhere (like Catch LA!).

Eating at Mr. Chow’s is best described as “I aimed low, and missed.” I took my girlfriend from NYC to experience an old school LA classic, and they actually did not disappoint. At least not in the food dept. Lots of well heeled, touch of gray, robber barons and Russian oligarchs with their much younger consorts looking to see and be seen. Plus, an electric mix of celebs ranging from Robert Wuhl to Stevie Wonder. Unfortunately, they weren’t adjacent. If they had, I definitely would have eavesdropped on their convo in the way to the bathroom. I’m sure Stevie is an Arli$$ fan. The food presentation is... hilarious. Completely overhyped fake chinese food that would get a cook fired if he or she served it at a Panda Express. But because celebs and foreign money launderers are eating it, everyone else happily chows down on Mr. Chow’s chow. We had the self proclaimed famous filet mignon and the also self proclaimed famous cloud of crab meat and egg whites. I would be shocked if both dishes weren’t pre made weeks ago, frozen and microwaved before serving. The menu itself, is a laminated replica of a cheap food court menu without the pictures. Also, there is a non celeb section where you’re packed behind tables that are so tight that the servers have to pull it out for you to go to the bathroom, so you get to be involved in your neighbor’s conversations. Which is kind of entertaining in a WTF kind of way. All in all, it was fun to go there, because it was so stereotypically over the top, but more fun to leave.

Great tasting, fresh Asian cuisine. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Loved our waiter’s suggestions for our meal, and the Bartender was a personable friendly guy. Not always the case in at an upscale restaurant.

Mr. Chow never disappoints, great food, service is attentive yet friendly and the ambiance is as good as it gets in Los Angeles. I have been a regular for twenty five years and I cannot go long without a visit. It is a true Gem in Beverly Hills.

We were celebrating a special birthday and I made note of that when I making the reservation. When the two of us arrived the restaurant looked a bit old and rundown, the food was nothing better then mediocre, the service was the same. Our waiter disappeared and didn’t come check on us. I had to track him down to make sure that the birthday celebration was acknowledged with a surprise cake. Only when I asked for the check did they finally bring over a very underwhelming slice of cake, no plating, no frills, just a slice of cake with a candle. To top it off they charged us $12 for that slice of cake! It was a really disappointing night, the bill was over $100 for one split entree of steamed sea bass, one side of seasonal vegetables and two drinks. We will never be back.

Really disappointed with how long we had to wait for our table (even though we made a reservation weeks in advance and noted it was a bday celebration). The bar was completely full so we could not even get a drink, and no one offered us a glass of wine, even after waiting for 30 min past our reservation time. When I mentioned something to the manager, the response was "Well this is a Saturday night." No apology or attempt to make up for the long wait. I think it could have been handled better. Service thereafter was also not very attentive. Enjoyed the food very much though.

Everyone was lovely and accommodating.
Maitre De could not have been kinder.
Have never been and thought we were going to have a fine dining experience given the price and history.
However, the food was spectacularly bad.
Very disappointing. ( one of the noodle dishes had over cooked pasta and a sauce that made us all think we were in an Italian cafeteria) nothing was outstanding or fine.

We hadn't been to Mr. Chow's for DECADES... which made us feel pretty foolish after experiencing a wonderful evening there with good friends. It should have been on our "favs" list for years and years. It is now. We were a party of four, so we ordered four appetizers (ribs, potstickers, shu mai, noodles) and four entrees (lamb with scallions, drunken fish, Beijing Chicken and duck). All were terrific... really terrific. And on top of that, the portions were not skimpy; we even ended up taking some leftovers home. We look forward to visiting again soon.

Mr. Chow did not disappoint. From the moment I entered the door, the service was impeccable. Whisked away to my table and the attention given to me as a solo diner was wonderful. My beverage, an avion margarita made to my delight was fabulous! On to my dining experience, I selected the chicken satay, Mr. Chow’s noodles, the corn and crab soup and the box and everything was simply delicious. Not a fan of the honey glazed shrimp with walnuts. There is definitely more to try so I will plan another visit to MR. Chow.

The food was great!! Our waiter suggested the $70 price fixe.(per person) We had two appetizers, vegetables, and entrees. Our waiter suggested the chicken satay(melted in our mouth), candied prawns and walnuts, fried rice, broccoli, fiery beef, and the sea bass. It was perfect!!! Our waiter gave us enough space so we could enjoy our meal.
