“Mr. Chow defies all odds and remains an impossibly chic spot that still draws the rich, famous and well-heeled decades after." - Los Angeles Times
Overall experience was good but seriously $5 for maybe 8 ounces of soda then you charge for refills. That's a little outrageous
great service, delicious food. there's nothing to other than only good to say about Mr. Chow Beverly Hills.
My favorite restaurant, delish food and amazing ambiance.
Classic restaurant. Celebrated my birthday and received complimentary dessert and a discount because it was my birthday.
Mr. Chow was an experience my family and I will never forget. We arrived to celebrate a birthday and we’re greeted with respect. As we sat at the bar waiting for our table, which didn’t take long, the bartender gave us a very odd look as we ordered our beverages. Walking to our table people began to stare, which the restaurant can’t be held accountable for, but the waiters and other employees gave us the same. The Atmosphere was very uncomfortable and we have never experienced a situation where we felt professionally welcomed yet personally unwanted. There was no problem with the service nor food, the staff was very attentive but that was overshadowed but the constantly whispers and stares under their breaths. Nevertheless my family and I made the best of it and went on our way.
Friendly accommodating staff, great food, we did a tasting menu for the table, all the food was amazing, nice selection, great wine & service
Expensive and the food was awful!11...Tables are too close to each other. Used to be a celebrity sightseeing, not anymore..NEVER will go back!
First time at mr chow, got recommended by a friend and i was disappointed, food was tasteless, the duck was bland and dry, horrible presentation it looked like leftovers from another table, the beef was only fat chunks. Talked to the manager, took the main entrees off the bill, but still ended paying 150 bucks for microwaved quality appetizers. Lyche martini was good though
Nice experience the duck was fantastic
This place is so congested! Everybody is sitting all bunched up together. The food was pretty good, but it is so noisy! I couldn't even hear what my date was saying. Also, I made reservations saying it was my birthday, and they never brought out any dessert. The waiters didn't even check on us, we had to constantly flag then down. This was the worst experience for me on my birthday, and I wish that I had gone somewhere else! Also, the bar tender fills your martini's to the brim. As soon as it was handed to me, it spilled all over my dress. Horrible experience at this place!
Always, always, always a favorite in every city but particularly in BH. We have never had an experience that was anything less than awesome. From the service to the atmosphere and, of course, the food...everything there that makes Mr. Chow one of our must dine at spots.
Made a reservation 2 weeks prior. Still waited an hour for seating. Crowded. Overbooked. Service was great once seated. My water glass never made it to the bottom. Food was great, but there's only so much you can charge for Asian food. It was delicious but probably not worth the price. Would I recommend? Naaaahhhhhh...
This one of my favorite restaurants in the world!
The service is so Professional, cool and friendly!
The food is Top Chinese Cousine!
You meet great people! Very entertaining !
Truly awful. Food OK. Service rood and clueless. Very noisy and zero ambience. Very expensive and not value at this price point.
Perfect for dining! Great atmosphere, wonderful food!
Portions are really small ,, food is expensive
We waited for 20 minutes to be seated. Tables are really small and we were stuck to the people sitting next to us
My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and decided to come to Mr Chows. We quickly learned that we had made a mistake as the restaurant was extremely crowded and painfully loud. We were seated in the middle of the lower floor made up of a line of small tables pushed together. For my wife to sit, they would literally pull our small table out, let her sit, and literally trap her in her spot as they pushed the table back. Needless to say this was a very very claustrophobic situation. The menus are written in a very small font so it’s difficult to read. The waiter quickly explained to us that the pre-fix menu is the best deal cause you can pick 2 courses and get rice included. With it being so loud in there, hard to read the menu, and having a rushing me to make a decision, I agreed on the pre-fix. I even told the waiter that we were not that hungry but he simply said you two can eat it. My guess is he just wanted me to make a fast decision since it was so busy. My wife could not even hear any of our conversation. After I ordered the filet mignon I was told there would be an additional fee for that even though he had said earlier that I could pick anything from the menu. I was so uncomfortable with how we were seated and the noise level and a pushy waiter that I stupidly agreed again.
The food was mediocre at best and not worth the price. Granted you are near Rodeo Drive, and I’m sure the majority of the Patrons drive Roles Royces so they could care less about the fee. Therefore I really shouldn’t complain about the cost and should not have been surprised that our meal for two with one drink each came out to $285. However this is more of a warning to mid-class tourists that consider coming to visit. We will not be returning.
Gambler’s Duck was AWESOME! Loved it! Mr. Chow’s Noodles, I would not recommend. Did not have much of a taste. The service was excellent and the employees treat you very well and with a lot of respect! They did forget my Pina Colada, but eventually I got it after waiting a while. Expect to spend $200 minimum for two guests.
It had been over 5 years since we had visited Mr. Chow. WOW! How comforting it was to walk in and see the same warm and friendly faces!! Even more comforting that some of them remembered us!! The service and food did not disappoint! We ordered two starters, the Squab with lettuce drizzled with their delicious plum sauce and the Chicken Satay. My husband loved the Satay but I was not impressed. We also shared the Prawn Toast with Gambei, Ma Mignon and the Steamed Sea Bass with broccoli as our choice for vegetable. All was 10+ delicious including the chocolate cake we barely finished for dessert. Well worth the experience. Will definitely return to continue celebrating our anniversary with Mr. Chow and his amazing family and cuisine!
The restaurant is small and very crowded, which is not confortable. The waiter was not into welcome us, since we were tourists and not familiar with the menu. Music was way top loud, you need to scream to make a conversation. The food was good
Service snd food was excellent! Table situation was a little tight. We were next to a large party w/small children the would not stay seated.
Amazing as expected!
Great Dinner. Choices were amazing
Way too noisy and staff frenzied Too crowded for pleasant meal
step it up, in all ways. Way overpriced for food that is hardly so so
Everything was good, the only thing we didn’t like is the waiting time for our table although we had a reservation. We waited for 35-40 min !!
Came in Saturday for a night out with friends .
Made reservation for 8:30 was seated after 9:15 .
Once they sat us it took another 15 minutes and us being irritated until we where to order drinks and food .
Food did not that long but the food was not as amazing as I expected it to be .
Bottom line service is not great food is ok not amazing,I expected more.
Mr. Chow costs a lot of money for small servings of Panda Express quality food. For a serving of sweet and sour pork it costs $50, for two small skewers of chicken satay it was $15, and it was bland and chewy and weirdly artificially colored. I get that this place was a trend setter in the 80s, but it is 100% not worth. We spent $300 on four drinks (2 each) and 5 food items. It is also loud and they pack you in like sardines.
First of all, the food quality was close to Panda Express. Actually I take that back, I prefer Panda Express to Mr. Chow. The service had a veneer of black tie quality with servers in tuxedos and initial helpfulness, however in realty the service was slow and not well trained. The price was straight up extortion as well. You have to have a lot of money and incredibly poor taste to come here. This fact actually explains my last compliant about Mr. Chows: the clientele. If I ever dress my family of four in all identical Gucci T-shirts, please follow me home after dinner and put me out of my misery.
Excellent as always
Love this place. It’s super expensive thou. I eat here on a regular basic. My meal for 3 people with 1 drink each was $278.
It's been a while but mostly as I remember.
My fav restaurant in town! Always the best service :)
Excelente servicio y atención, la calidad y sabor de la comida sobrepaso mis expectativas, muy grata experiencia ¡¡ Gracias¡¡
Amazing food, ambiance and wait staff. One of the few restaurants I’ve been to that lives up to the hype.
from the host desk to the service at table, everyone was kind and attentive. had a really nice time.
I have been going for years, always outstanding, but this time a bit disappointing . I let the restaurant choose my two appetizers and entrees. Fist appetizer was lettuce wraps not better than let's say PF Chang, but of course more expensive Second were dumplings, nothing important to mention. Next we got a plate that had the whole head of a lobster, which made think now we're talking. Too soon to talk, they were shrimp, no lobster at all. That was very disappointing. Then some filet of beef good but again not great.
That was it.
Two things continue unchanged, excellent service and a pricy food you can get in a lot of places, not to mention the deception of shrimp instead of lobster. I now wander if I should not try other options in the future.
Wonderful service as usual
