57th st is SO dated. It was like going in a time machine to the 70’s. We were in and out within an hour. It is expensive to be done with a bday dinner in an hour and 15 minutes. Food was good. Servers were very attentive as always. But tribeca is so much cooler and has a vibe. We won’t be back.

Food was amazing & service was even better. We came in after a day of roaming around the city so we were dressed very casually. No one gave us obnoxious attitudes, all the staff members were polite and gracious. Value wise, the portion sizes are smaller than most places but the overall experience made it worth it for us. Would definitely go back & recommend.

Me Chow is a great experience. The food really is special and, while well-known to be overpriced, it all makes for a terrific evening. The noodle cutting at 8:00; the exquisite champagnes available by the glass; the selection of foods (fun to have them pick for you) that are all really good; and the arrogant wait staff in white evening jackets (part of the schtick) are all great.

I told waiter no nuts on any dishes as I am severely allergic..the first dish came out with nuts! It was immediately redone but not cool and they should of been more apologetic and shown some additional consideration.

If you'd like to go to dinner with the worst kind of rich people, go to Mr. Chow. This is a trump-ests wet dream. The food is over priced, the drinks are made with no care and the service is terrible. It looks like the owners/managers are stuck in 90s era new york where you could get away with anything by just being snobby. That being said, if youre willing to pay triple what you should, the food is genuinely good.

We had dinner in Mr. Chow's Beverly Hills location and while being noisy the food was really excellent and we decided to try the NYC location on 57th street. We order 2 of the dishes we had in Beverly Hills, Shrimp with Walnuts and gamblers duck. In Beverly Hills the shrimp dish was crisp and flavorful and in NY it was limp and lacked the sauces. The duck in NY was dry and mushy while in Beverly Hills it was crisp and tender. The service in NY was rush rush with the main course coming a little after the appetizers came. It made for a very unpleasant dinner. With all the great Chinese food in NY, don't waste you evening here

Attention to the details are very important. My wife and I each ordered a main and a side, they charged for 2 bowls of rice and 2 steamed vegetables although we only had 1 of each. There excuse was it’s a minimum of 2 of each although we o my got 1 of each. It was simple for me NO TIP!! Wouldn’t go back very misleading.

Not your typical neighborhood Chinese food restaurant. Food is a little cleaner (lighter not so heavy) and the restaurant is upscale. Expensive - but then the neighborhood is expensive too.

I've never written a review for a restaurant, but my recent experience dining at Mr. Chow was so horrible, I feel compelled to say something. I had dined at this location over 10 years ago and the experience has entirely changed. At our recent meal, the service was completely erratic -- at least four different waiters in a flurry coming to our table at confusing times -- the food inedible (dumplings tasted as if they had been frozen, defrosted, then panfried), scallion pancakes tasted of undercooked donut pastry, and soup dumplings contained no soup, but instead a stiff miscellaneous filling attributed to pork (or at least we believe it was pork) -- and the surrounding environment was incredibly... strange. Loud music, furniture moving above our heads, food getting thrown down at our table in a messy rush on old faded plates and silver. All of this was so disappointing as what was once a posh environment for a sophisticated meal has turned into a frenzied night club of defrosted dumplings over loud music and expensive cocktails. Clearly this is a case of a once successful restaurant getting by on the coat-tails of what it once was. Do not go here.

we had Peking Duck for six people. Inexplicable it came with so many appetizers -none of them very good- it was hard to imagine how we would eat out duck.

The Duck was sliced as if my a hatchet- the fat was not rendered nor were there slices of crispy skin. What a total disappointment especially because of the rave reviews
