The menu at MR CHOW is a combination of old authentic Beijing, Original Recipes, and the signature dishes such as Chicken Satay, MR CHOW Noodles, and Ma Mignon. MR CHOW also serves one of the best Beijing Ducks in the world.

Everything great. Only comment is I used open table and could not speak directly to the restaurant to get things pre set for my wife’s birthday
Annual Christmas dinner with friends
Mr. Chow on 57th isn't just a restaurant. It's an experience. I've gone to this establishment 20+ times and every time I go, not only is the food exceptional, but myself and whomever I am with are treated like family. Miguel who has been working there since my first dining experience goes above and beyond to make sure every single thing is perfect throughout the whole meal. Miguel and the staff want to make sure that everyone in the group goes home happy and full :). Could not ask for a better restaurant and experience.
This is hands down the most impressive service my hisband and I have EVER had. It was truly unreal. We were not finished with our plates our drinks for longer than two seconds before someone was clearing our dishes. Our table remained spotless the entire night and because the service wss so good, it made the food taste even better. We had the chicken satay, lobster shumai, prawns with walnuts, the fiery beef and the Dungeness Crab! What an experience! Id recommend to ANYONE the location on 57th in NYC. Thank you for making us feel like complete royalty!!!
Service was outstanding, the wait staff was prompt and professional. I loved the velvet chicken, it truly was velvety. But, (and this is a big but), most entrees were extremely over priced for the portion sizes. For $42, the velvet chicken should have fed at least 2 people. Especially, since the restaurant advertises "family style" dining. This small portion could not be shared.
For the first time in over 30 years, our service was substandard. First course was right away, and then a very, very long wait for the main course. Even then the fried rice didn’t show up till the meal was almost over. Nobody seemed to care about our table. Hope this is not a trend.
Horrible duck entre. The option of real duck was for three. Who goes to diner with three people. Why do you put that on the menu??
My family and I are world travelers and very foodies. We love to eat in fancy schmancy restaurant as much as eating at a hole in a wall type of thing.
Mr chow let me tell you how disappointed you were last night. From you rude wanna be James Bond server to your “ world famous chicken sate” it was a disaster. What do you make your chicken sate with? Doritos? Cheetos? Also, is there any sate in your chicken sate??
When it comes to rice? How do you cook it?? Do you boil it?? Because quiet honestly my 13 years old makes better rice in our rice cooker than you. Same thing for her chicken sate. 10 times better than your chicken Cheetos.
MR Chow have you lost your mind in “chow-business”?? I d love to invite you to our house and cook chicken sate and rice for you. I won’t even charge you...or maybe I will!!!
Shall I also mention that even the proper drink could not be brought to my wife...
The only great thing was the lady at the coat check!!
Terrible, overrated, and rude.
Thumbs down!! (I wish I had 4).
Day after thanksgiving. We arrived Ten minutes late already the hostess cancelled our open table reservation and then we got rudely scolded by the hostess telling us that if we were going to be late that we should call them.
Nice reception. Tables are not set up correctly so that anyone on the isle is constantly getting bumped by passers by both staff and customers.
Waiter wasn’t forthright with menu prices like the price of wonton soup (which is not listed on the menu). Even when I asked repeatedly what the price of the soup is he kept asking me what else was I going to order so that he could figure the price. This I found super strange. The service was very good. The food was super salty Borderline inedible. The bill came and I noticed they over charged us. I told waiter the correct prices listed on the menu and then 2 other waiters and then the manager all came over and tried to coerce me into accepting the charges that were higher. Finally they adjusted the prices to correct prices that were listed on the menu. I felt like I was getting shaken down in some foreign country. Never again. Check your watches if they shake your hand !
Le service et génial il vous conseille vraiment au mieux ❤️ parconte il sont trop insistant sur la consommation des boissons qu’il ne sont pas donner ...
Delicious, had crispy beef Beijing duck. Fabulous meal, great atmosphere!
Very good. But too laude.
Never disappoints! Food is consistently good, service always excellent, fun & energetic vibe. NYC staple.
Food was amazing! Service was Superb! and I loved the high end feel of the establishment. Two things I would mention which didn’t impact my experience that MUCH is 1) If I ask for a drink menu don’t say you don’t have but then bring it to the guests sitting next to me(looks funny) & 2) Kinda felt rushed/pressure to order quickly esp for my 1st time at the establishment. Other then that I would def return. Thank you!
Mr. Chow - A NYC classic (maybe in the 90's). After being told our table wasn't ready we were routed to the outdated overpriced bar. Cocktail was OK but after 40 minutes and our table not being ready - we weren't ready to order another.
After being seated we felt as though the waiters were continually up-selling us. I'm all for hearing the specials but it felt rushed and they came to take our order a number of times before we could even settle in.
Food was good, but for the price i'd rather spend my time at red farm or a more updated locally sourced menu.
Mr Chow was highly recommended to us by friends and it certainly was well worth the trip...Had a great time and the food is fantastic..
Very good food but on my fourth visit here in the past few months, was again underwhelmed by the , rushed service, loud yelling from a large group that reverberated through the restaurant, singing of "Happy Birthday" that repeatedly interrupted our meal, and overall chaotic vibe. Not so sure that restaurant experience lives up to their high prices.
Simply outstanding. We were entertaining guests from Australia and they had a fabulous time; walking away with fantastic memories, especially food wise. They are looking forward to visiting other locations. Many thanks!
All the hype and just OK. The dumplings were not good. The curry chicken puffs were all puff no filling. Way overpriced for the quality. A side of white rice (which was not included with the meat entree - who does that?) was $17! A small bowl of white rice! The waiters descended on us at the beginning and the once we ordered - poof! Gone! It took forever to get the check. Don’t plan on talking - you can’t hear each other over the deafening chatter of patrons. There is nothing in there to absorb sound. This restaurant has gotten a little cocky over the years and they maybe need to step it up a bit if they are going to charge what they do. I don’t mind paying a lot if it is outstanding food, but this clearly wasn’t.
Was so excited to excited to finally have a booking at Mr Chow - our initial waiter was rude and unfriendly to the point of be a snob!! We smiled and said hello but nothing back from him. Out next waiter for drinks was extremely kind and friendly. The food was ok nothing to rave about at all. The girl at the front was mostly stuck up and brief with us until Robert Wagner arrived she was most attentive to him lovely man indeed but please. We are not people who are well known but have defiantly made our path in this world and could tell a few stories or two that have meaning and contribution to this world!!
Third time at Mr Chow, and this was a disappointment. I wouldn't expect this kind of "machinery" in such exlusive and expencive restaurant. I didn't feel the relaxing atmosphere that I expexted.
The finest restaurant I have ever been to anywhere. The food, service and timing were extraordinary. It was my son’s birthday and the waiters sang beautifully. We have been here many times for dinner and sachs nd every time it is unsurpassed.
Overall Excellent experience! I will highly recommend to family and friends. The waiter was very knowledgeable of dietitian selections! Will definitely continue to frequent such an ejoyable establishment!
The management and servers were too eager to rush us out. This is supposed to be an enjoyable dinner for the meal and atmosphere.
My first time back in 20 years, food was not as good as I remember and menu was limited
We were disappointed
Love this restaurant. Love everything about it! Food excellent, service 5 stars, and if I could eat here every night, I would.
Great service And very nice place but the food was way overpriced.
The reservation was made for 2 and should of been for 3. Very accommodating in getting a table for 3. Wait time was minimum. Miguel our maître'd was informative, attentive, and super nice.
Fab food and nice setting. Staff were extremely attentive to the point if overkill. They were lovely people but sometimes people just want to be left to enjoy the food.
Weird menu....choices for fixed price very confusing. Our 2 guests wanted the Peking duck but they weren’t allowed to order unless there was a third person despite the fact they agreed to pay more. One of our group ordered green prawns which turned out to be tiny shrimp. And the lobster that was suppose to come with the vermiccili noodles was almost invisible. We basically just had noodles and rice. Our dinner guests had fun DESPITE the poor menu and little assistance by wait staff.
This was my 2nd time at Mr. Chow and it was just as awesome as the 1st. I took my husband for his birthday and the team at Mr Chow made it a truly memorable night!
We celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary at Mr. Chow this past Saturday night, 9/29/18. What a wonderful experience! Our first time here The décor is sleek but not overdone. The hostess and the wait staff were friendly, courteous and professional. But I have to give kudos and 5 stars to the maître de Kevin. He bought us a glass of wine for our anniversary and was engaging and conversational despite the restaurant being packed, he made us very special. The Dungeness crab was absolutely delicious and so much crab! As we were leaving, we passed by Kevin and I thank him so much for helping to make our anniversary memorable & special. He told us to meet him by the exit- my wife and I looked a little surprised but ok. He brings us a bottle of champagne on Mr. Chow! He gave it to us in your signature hot pink and black bag, so very sweet of him and the perfect ending to a wonderful time! We will be back to Mr. Chow for sure, well worth the experience.
Highly overrated. Food was bland. The only thing I enjoyed were the drinks.
From the reception to the seating to the service to the food.... all five star.
Well done and thank you.
We had the best time at Mr. Chow celebrating our 10th Anniversary. The manager, I believe his name is Kevin, treated us like the most important customers in the restaurant. At a time when good customer service is hard to find, it was so refreshing to feel such a warm welcome at Mr. Chow. We can't wait to go back.
The food was great, but not the best value for the price. I was surprised to see that a rose wine that should have cost $20/glass (in a restaurant) was marked up to $41/glass. We probably would've just bought the bottle, rather than paying so much for individual servings. It was really too noisy for a business dinner. Dinner for 5 with no dessert should not cost over $700 (excluding gratuity).
Absolutely delicious! We drove from Washington DC just for date night to have the green shrimp
