Been there many times. Always fun if you don’t mind being crowded and loud. Food was great and lots of it. We love this place when we want to party.

Food was terrible, server recommended a 'banquet" menu for 4 would do it and charged us for 5 (and 4 was way too much food). Quality of the food was way below average, the table rocks and the wind comes in the door. Ridiculous

in spite of reservation made when arrived we had to wait for more or less 30 minutes.
Many people ahead of us, and understand with no reservations made previously.

Great food & service. Beautifully decorated. Easy access parking. Just a terrific all around experience.
Over priced but taking the area into consideration it should be expected.

The food is reliably good. HOWEVER, there is a tall blonde male waitor that I have had the unfortunate experience of having on several occasions. Unlike the great waiters that I always have in the LA location, this waitor is a liar and manipulator with the intent of driving up the price of the check. In LA, I am used to telling the waitor exactly what ee want to order and then he figures out based on what we want if the pre fixe or a la carte is a better value. The New York blonde waitor constantly lies. For example, he convinced my husband that based on what he wanted the pre fixe would be a better value. However, at the end of the meal, we were charged extra because his particular chicken dish wasn’t included among the pre fixe choices. (Which the waitor failed to mention and isn’t indicated on the menu). Additionally if one person orders a side of vegetables then even if it’s only that one person eating them, everyone at the table will be charged $8.00 a person for the side wheather they took a bite or not (unless everyone at the table orders a pre fixe). The food at Mr Chow is delicious however if you don’t want to eat the huge quantity of food included in the pre fix then it is MUCH easier to order and know exactly what you are being charged for at Philippe which is equally as good food and near by on East 60th Street. Additionally, you don’t have to deal with the annoying chords located at each Mr Chow table used to illuminate a center light in the table. We eat at 5 star restaurants a minimum of twice a week and often more however I don’t want to be pressured to order more food then I want or conned about the price.

Mr. Chow used to be one of my all-time favorite places. The food is not as good as it used to be, and the portions are minuscule. Especially considering the prices. Disappointing. Not going back. Try Shin Lee Palace instead.

Mr.Chow is definitely a one of a kind resturant. The chef comes out and demonstrate's how he prepares the noodles. It is a small place and they sit you close together which I would say is not romantic at all. We went on a Saturday night which was packed. The duck is their specialty. It's a must if you go there. I would definitely go back in the future.

Been here many times, yet it still delivers on service level, consistency of the food and ambiance of casual-fine dining.

Final point: prefer this location to the downtown location. A little less “trendy” and much more professional and serious.

The staff was super rude. We showed up to our reservation on time and the hostess didn't acknowledge us for about 10 minutes even no else was waiting to be helped by her. Also, while we were dining, the waiters kept taking chairs away from our table and put it back multiple times without even asking us or apologizing for disrupting our dinner. Waiters also elbowed us and kept hitting us as they walked by. Great food but terrible service.

It felt very much like an overpriced diner where the rush was to push people out as quickly as possible. For this price, you would expect a special experience and this was far from it. The food was fine, nothing spectacular and there was no time in any case for it to become memorable.
